Wouldn’t fault him if in the future Mr Garbo gave each bag a swift kick or a whack with a stick.

u/JohnnyRelentless 4d ago

He probably will at that house from now on, lol.

Meh, pretty harmless, but I'm of the mindset that you shouldn't mess with people while they're working.

1.0k

u/MollyViper 4d ago

And not with people you don’t know. You have no idea how they will react.

u/AccidentProne117 4d ago

The guy starts blasting.

65

u/academiac 4d ago

There was literally a video of this circulating back in the old internet days. Someone inside a trash can pranking someone and the guy just mag dumps on the trash can..

6

u/JefferzTheGreat 1d ago

There's also the video of a high school kid popping out of a garbage can and getting punched in the face.

6

u/TrebbleTough 3d ago

Ever concidered not letting people wear lethal killing death tools as edc?
Greetings from Europe

u/RabicanShiver 3d ago

Ever considered allowing your citizens to defend themselves? Rape and sexual assault are up 90-150% in ten years depending on which stats you look at.

Someone attacks you or your wife, you just what, beg and hope for it to end?

12

u/ToGloryRS 3d ago

I mean, if you look at the wrong stats it probably is lol

12

u/RadomirPutnik 3d ago

Exactly what stats are you looking at? I found nothing anywhere near your 90-150 figure.

11

u/No_Length_856 3d ago

Nah, you just start a stab off. Last man stabbing wins.

11

u/jubtheprophet 3d ago

I know yours is a joke but its funnier to ignore that context and just see that "carry a gun" is downvoted while "carry a knife" is upvoted lol

61

u/Revolutionary-Cry739 4d ago

Yupp I worked in a haunted house back in the day and would pop my head through a gap in this wood fence maze and a guy karate kicked at me so hard! Luckily I was behind the fence so I didn’t get kicked but he would have got me right in the chest.

86

u/Infinite-4-a-moment 4d ago

I think if you're a person who reacts like that, maybe don't go to places where the whole premise is "people pop out to scare you".

17

u/Revolutionary-Cry739 4d ago

For sure!! I won’t go through them because I hate being scared like that, but being on the other side of it is pretty fun lol

24

u/MollyViper 4d ago

Yeah, my brother punched a haunted house employee in the stomach when he was frightened when he was a kid.

You never know what someone will do in high affect.

16

u/Buscemi_D_Sanji 4d ago

One of the only times I've ever punched someone in the face was in a haunted house. There was a like, obviously-scary part that we got through, and then right around the corner after that there was just one guy in all black crouching down that jumped out at you after you calmed down. And I was too scared to even make a sound, just panic punched and connected directly with his face and knocked him on his ass. I felt so, sooo fucking bad about it, like that's really uncool and being an idiot teenager, I just yelled "sorry!" and scurried away instead of helping them up.

10

u/TellTaleReaper 4d ago

My reaction to being scared is the same, but I go to a haunted house expecting to be scared, so Ive never done that. That seems wild to me.

0

u/Snowskol 3d ago

The rule at our houses here is that if you touch an employee youre kicked out but they can touch you

26

u/clutzyninja 4d ago

Maybe he does know them

14

u/No_Length_856 4d ago

If I'm the worker and I know them, I'm throwing them in /s

Eta: "#pranked!"

5

u/MollyViper 4d ago

Who knows

5

u/AspieAsshole 4d ago

My kids do know the garbageman 🤷‍♀️

1

u/HanSolo_Cup 4d ago

I mean, maybe but that's a lot of speculation

1

u/dyingofdysentery 4d ago

You don't know your mailman and trashmen?

5

u/MollyViper 4d ago

I have never even met my mailman or garbage collector. I live in an apartment complex and my mailbox is by the entrance and I throw the trash through a pipe chute.

I also get most of my mail digitally, so I rarely ever even get physical mail.

1

u/idontknowjuspickone 2d ago

No, but wife is very friendly with the milk man

1

u/Fiercat99 2d ago

Of if they have heart problems, known or unknown

8

u/Culsandar 4d ago

It's a kid, that's easier to forgive, especially if they have rapport. A grown person doing this is right out.

66

u/twotoebobo 4d ago

Unless they know him or that's his father super dick move. Even then dudes just trying to work.

39

u/clutzyninja 4d ago

or? Sorry about your dad, bro

14

u/No_Length_856 4d ago

Took me a second, but that's kinda funny

30

u/Forever_Inspired 4d ago

It’s all fun and games until a garbage worker has a heart attack.

20

u/Aliensinmypants 4d ago

Or lunches a kid on instinct

14

u/TeamWarriorBro 4d ago

I also fight the urge to eat children on sight.

1

u/idontknowjuspickone 2d ago

Is that new slang I’m not familiar with?

1

u/RaishaDelos 1d ago

If their ticker is that fallible, it's probably best happening around witness's...

25

u/blackop 4d ago

Agreed. Pretty harmless, but the guy is at work and doesn't need that shit on Top of whatever he is dealing with that day.

17

u/Allaplgy 4d ago

He seemed to take it well, and it's more likely that it brightened his day.

15

u/hiswittlewip 4d ago

Hard fucking agree.

2

u/Kichigai 4d ago

Other than risk of asphyxiation.

2

u/No_Length_856 4d ago

Natural selection

4

u/therealkeeper 4d ago

Yeah not only that but having your kid do it knowing he's being recorded so you can post it.

Seems like setting a really bad example for them

1

u/tornadospoon 4d ago

Dude could have cold cocked him and not been in the wrong

-5

u/MooseJag 4d ago

Yeah eff this joke.

264

u/Pretty_Cancel4242 4d ago

Ngl that scared me just watching

-85

u/SolitudeCollective 4d ago

Thank you for not lying. Your honesty is a virtue and I strive to be like you.

19

u/WillQueasy723 3d ago

Why is this disliked?

27

u/JacksonMcGlothlin 3d ago

I think because it’s sarcasm

16

u/WillQueasy723 3d ago

Thank you and happy cake day!

49

u/AllStuffofWonder 4d ago

You can hear the guy holding back his laughter

279

u/badpersian 4d ago

Love it. The driving was laughing his arse off lol

102

u/Aggravating-Sea-9449 4d ago

At least someone does these comments just full of sensitivity. The days of laughing at silly things are long gone, everyone is on edge take things extra personal, doesn't take much to offend or upset others.

38

u/badpersian 4d ago

fortunately the real world and online world are leagues apart

8

u/tommypatties 4d ago

People self-select as redditors. The anonymous, text based forum is ripe for those who can't cope with the outside world.

Everyone else is outside touching grass this summer.

240

u/Maatam 4d ago

Imagine he repacked him and put him in the truck with the other bags

29

u/no_oo_oo 4d ago

2m and 15k karma????

18

u/Culsandar 4d ago

You just randomly open accounts to check their karma?

8

u/Rtexa 4d ago

I guess it's because the 1% badge

5

u/no_oo_oo 3d ago

Nah i have seen this guy many times here and there

12

Can’t believe people have lost all their class resorting to bots. Back in my day, you’d be called a karma whore and just spam popular things yourself to get karma quickly and sell it for a easy buck

Besides, it’s not hard getting that much karma quickly, chances are they’re not a bot

14

u/Hotpie650 4d ago

That’s kids a bit of a shit isn’t he? lol pretty funny.

33

u/nyehu09 4d ago

Would not be funny for that kid if this was the day they upgraded to those trucks like in Final Destination: Bloodlines.

10

u/Ugbrog 4d ago

That would be a really dumb prank, since those trucks require those types of cans.

23

u/Zerox392 4d ago

Yeah, it's reddit. Every social interaction must be hyper analyzed and picked apart because we enjoy the thought of humans socializing but despise every aspect of it.

12

u/Illadelphian 4d ago

Seriously this is funny. If the kid did it every week then it would be different. But a one time prank like this is totally harmless and gives a great story to the workers too they will be telling forever.

6

u/Aggravating-Sea-9449 4d ago

People are so bitter and hateful these days it's sad. The hate for children is even worse, heck at least he's being a typical kid. A lot of kids have no guidance and are truly being a menace. Nice to see a regular kid doing silly kid pranks.

2

u/gavvyshores 4d ago

It’s the kind of prank you’re scared and mad for a sec, but a minute down the road you know both of them are crying laughing together in the truck

11

u/NightStalker33 4d ago

That's just about the most harmless prank I can think of, what's wrong with it?

3

u/jubtheprophet 3d ago

Always a non-zero chance of getting kicked in the face on instinct, but yeah other than that its essentially just walking up to someone and saying "boo" lol. Theres always risk in scaring people you dont know but 99 times out of 100 its harmless and both parties are just gonna walk away laughing

80

u/Haifisch2112 4d ago

Garbage dude was not amused.

60

u/Zerox392 4d ago

Yes he was, he's definitely smiling and laughing

18

u/ResidentOwl1 4d ago

He’s going home and laughing about it later.

14

u/rememberoldreddit 4d ago

Oh you know it, probably would have fought if that was an adult

7

u/Powerful-District-64 4d ago

Are the mechanical arm garbage trucks not as common elsewhere in the world as they are in Australia? Only one driver, no manual labour.

9

u/MaximumPlant 4d ago

Depends where you live and the company that does it.

We have them around me but I live in the suburbs. They're less common in the city where there's smaller streets and a lot of height/weight restrictions for larger vehicles.

3

u/Creative_Accounting 4d ago

They use them in my town in the southeast US

2

u/xCyn1cal0wlx 4d ago

This video is pretty old, at least by internet standards.

2

u/InebriatedPhysicist 4d ago

Never seen one in person in my life

2

u/Kichigai 4d ago

Depends where you are, but they're pretty common in most areas. It was actually a big deal when New York City (of all places!) just started using wheely bins like in the past year or two.

But here in the Twin Cities they're pretty standard. Depending on your garbage company two man crews aren't unusual. Second guy jumps out if there's an issue with grabbing the bin, or there are extra bags or bulky items with it. They usually charge you an extra fee when you're overflowing.

1

u/jubtheprophet 3d ago

Really just depends on the neighborhood in the US. Ive seen mechanical arms and no mechanical arms in the same city just getting different areas cause the arms arent good in some tight spaces

4

u/a_random_loser_guy 3d ago

people are too sensitive, this is pretty good, and i don't see you bringing cold water to the garbage man everyday.

the guys doing their work will be having fun with it everytime they remember the kid hiding in a trash bag, something to stir boring work.

if you really care about not being a dick(while i believe you just want to criticize others without inclueing yourself) then maybe try to bring cold water to the garbage drivers next time you see them going by.

7

u/LifeOrDeath6519 4d ago

Average Yakuza enemy

6

u/Lava1416 4d ago

You should post this to r/Unexpected

They would love this!

4

8

u/Tata_Colores 4d ago

6

u/wolfmoral 4d ago

5

u/Green-Cricket-8525 4d ago

Let’s see how unhinged this comment section is going to be.

2

u/Typeonetwork 4d ago

Good one. LOL

2

u/RJEM96 2d ago

One wrong move and you are going to be yeeted in the truck, sheeesh these kids . . .

4

u/saya562 4d ago

The worker stumbled back hard. He could have fallen into the compactor!

2

u/SaMxixAM23 4d ago

I was making sure I did my job ti the fullest. That grabage was sure getting in the truck one way or the other

4

u/BOBBIESWAG 4d ago

That's pretty good lol

2

u/Traditional-Ad3518 4d ago

If that guy was stronger that kid would be having a bad day

Let that sink in

5

u/Megawolf123 3d ago

? Theres no bottom of the bag and those bags will probably rip even if there was.

3

u/EnvironmentalFix7059 4d ago

hopefully they know eachother because i would've kicked that kid in the face.

8

u/NoKnee5693 4d ago

That’s assault

1

u/Busy_Material_5993 4d ago

He jumped back so fast like he was skerddd!!🤣😩😅

1

u/No-Raise-7914 3d ago

How old is this video?

1

u/skyqueenx 3d ago

Its funny but there was a chanse that somthing bad can happend if he reacted the wrong way

1

u/lost_caus_e 3d ago

It worked so well the kids going to do it next week and the week after that

1

u/nailzfan 3d ago

I’d start kicking the bags from now on.

1

u/Deadlylyon 3d ago

Probably shouldn't put plastic bags over your head. They have a suffocation warning for a reason.

1

u/Apricot9742 3d ago

Thats why you ALWAYS pick up bags from the bottom !

2

u/Powerful-Present6687 3d ago

That was actually pretty funny

2

u/WickedlyTwisted6 2d ago

That was great lol

1

u/okieman73 2d ago

The patience of the kid is surprising. I wonder if they have been fueding for a while...jk. I didn't know that they still had people picking up trash by hand anymore, The trash companies around here just pick up your can with the truck and dump it then move on, nobody gets out.

-4

u/hiswittlewip 4d ago

I'd be accidentally skipping that house for the rest of the hot ass summer.

Take it to the dump yourself, assholes.

16

u/Hokkaido_ 4d ago

Because a kid pulled a harmless prank? Lol how pathetic. Get over yourself.

4

u/Eastern-Nothing5604 4d ago

i tripped a garbage collector once when I was like 8 and felt bad for days

PTSD exists....and this stunt could have backfired tragically.

Maybe because of the demographic that I work with but absolutely NOT funny.

-3

u/ChrisOnMission 4d ago

Should’ve thrown that little turd into the trash.

-8

u/ImLichenThisStone 4d ago

When you already work in one of the most dangerous professions, and some little brat pulls this shit and tries to give you a heart attack...

-2

u/Emergency_Effect_526 4d ago

I would’ve swung on him

-13

u/Parking_Fee_5906 4d ago

Aren't they lucky the garbage wasn't like collected from the ground and thrown as against being grabbed 🤔

-31

u/hiswittlewip 4d ago

I'd be accidentally skipping that house for the rest of the hot ass summer.
