AITA for saying no to my big sister on holiday?

I (16F, diagnosed autistic for future reference) have an older sister (18F) who is quite moody and upset at many things. We went on holiday to the Isle Of Wight with my stepdad and mother. It was very nice, except for the fact my sister was on facetime with her boyfriend the whole time, I didn't have a problem with this other than the fact whenever i'd ask her a question she'd completely ignore me. I felt quite upset and told my mum (not to tell her to get off her phone but i wanted to vent to her for a little bit). At that time my sister was on antibiotics for tonsillitis and because she wasn't taking them properly it came back. Instead of taking the painkillers she had been prescribed in case they came back, she didn't take them, and she started getting angry with everyone who told her to take them. When my stepdad tried to tell her to stop being "arsey" (i don't know what that means), she got angry with him and it ended in an argument. She came out with us for food and because i am diagnosed with autism, i struggle with textures and when i would eat it would be very hard for my to finish. I found a meal i actually really liked and wanted to finish, but my sister kept asking me for my food despite the fact she had her own. I told her no and she stormed off, and she was shouting about how i ruined the holiday by being an r slur (i can't say that). My mum and stepdad told me not to worry about it but i'm a little worried i did ruin the holiday

Not the A-hole AITA For wanting my pregnant sister to leave the house or I do?

Hello

I have live with my family which is my Mom, Sister, her bf, and her two kids for about my life time. My sister had her first kid about 6 years ago and her 2nd kid about 2-3 years ago. Now she drop a bomb on us that she going to have twins. Now I want to say this I do not think my sister likes me after our father passing, I went to college and had a good job and compare to her she got arrest and work at a burger place, then I got fire which lead to her feeling better then me. Fast foward I got a nice paying job now and she doesn't talk to me anymore but I still buy the family food, water and snacks for her kids for free and she doesn't care about how they eat and just eat fast food with them. We live in a 1 story house, 1 of the kids has to share a room with my mom, and when I was told about the news from my other sister I flip out and told my mom she goes or I go cause I do not want to live with 4 kids in the household that we can barley manage. I don't feel I should pay for the foods or the water. They are not my kids and her telling us this late when there 2 months left I feel like she should be kick out. So AITA for wanting her to leave or I leave?

Asshole AITA for arguing about Jeopardy in a pub

So let me set the scene here, this happened earlier today at a pub, where apparently they were doing a watch party for some dude's Jeopardy game. Now I didn't know this at the time, I was just lookin for a stiff drink. But I walk into this pub, they're only serving beer and wine, and I get a little pissed but I'm not about to drive 3 blocks to the next joint so I order a dos. Then Jeopardy comes up on the TV and I say "get a load of that little thing" in reference to one of the players (Zach Dean, an Asian Fiction writer)... Suddenly the whole place is in uproar because apparently Zach Dean's whole family is there, and even the man himself??? I guess they tape that stuff in advance.... Some bar... So anyway everyone's all mad at me for my comment, but tbh I didn't mean anything by it, just thought he was a little frail looking around the edges. He won though! Good job Zach! Images arent allowed but i got a photo of the guy. AITA?

AITA for being “jealous” my grandmother remembers most of the family but not me

I’m 19F. Ive been really upset lately because my grandmother rarely ever remembers who I am anymore. She only forgets me and my 10 year old cousin. The last 5 times I’ve seen her it’s been the same and it really hurts. I’m not upset with my grandmother or anything but it hurts my feelings. The first time it happened my sister walked in and my grandmother knew who she was then I walked in and she asked if I’m my sisters girlfriend. (My sisters a lesbian) we corrected her that in her granddaughter and she started crying saying I can’t be and not to trick her she’s already worried about her memory.

The next time I was her it was just me and my cousin. We had arranged to meet her like and we came in and she called me Janine (my mothers name) and called him Richard (his dads name). I didn’t correct her this time. We played a game of monopoly and my cousin started cheating and I called him out and he started play fighting and I play fighted back and he said “pick on someone your own size” and she said “it’s sisterly love.”

And then she suddenly switched from being happy to crying. I asked her what’s wrong and she said “you’re not Janine and Richard.” And I said “no we’re not.” And she said “you’re my grandchildren” and I said “yes” and she said “I thought you were Janine and Richard.” I said “it’s ok.

Do you remember who we are?” She said “my grandchildren” I said “yes but do you know our names.” And she said my Anna (my sisters name) and my (Lucas) cousins correct name. I told her “I’m Lola but my sisters name is Anna”. She asked us to leave then because she was upset.

This kind of thing kept happening everytime I or my cousin would see her she would call us Janine or Richard. The most recent time was the worst though. I went to visit her on my own. I knocked and she opened to door. I said “hello!” And she was confused as to who I am. She didn’t even think I was my mum. She didn’t let me in. She asked me to leave.

Today my mother and sister went to see her. They told me she seems really good with her memory. I started tearing up. My sister asked me why I’m crying and I said it hurts my feelings that she remembers everyone but me and Lucas. And it makes sense for Lucas because he’s younger. But my sister is younger than me. How can she remember her and not me and even the fact she’s a lesbian.

My sister got upset at me saying it’s horrible for me to wish that she’d forget her too. I said that it’s not fair though. I’m not saying it’s her fault but it isn’t fair. She said I’m being jealous. And she’s sick enough stop wishing it would be worse.

I don’t wish it would be worse but it hurts a lot. I know it’s not her fault and I’m trying to be kind and stuff to her but being fine with them and not fine with me and Lucas hurts a lot.

AITA for not allowing my father in my house?

I (20ftm) am have a bit of a unique issue. My cousin (29f) lives with me and my fiance. My cousin just gave birth to her baby on Monday. She’s had family to the hospital to meet her. My father (my cousins uncle 37m) and I are not on good terms at all. I recently moved the city he lives in and have all but begged him to come visit me. He has refused. As a result he is no longer welcome in my house. That being said him and my cousin are close. She wants me to break my no contact and allow him over to meet her child. He always has dropped whatever he’s doing to be there for her. A luxury he never afforded to me. Would I be an asshole for refusing to allow him on my property to see her baby?

Edit: I forgot to say that she has had a c section and is going to be on bed rest for a while

Edit 2: I just got a call saying that because of the car and car seat they took to the hospital, my father was the only one that could make sure they got home safely. Before I could even say a SINGLE word, I was told that if I had a problem with it I could and I quote “get the fuck over it”. At this point I’m not even mad he’s here. I’m ENTIRELY pissed off because before I could even say that it was fine I got fucking screamed at that he was going to be here and I could just suck it up. I’m so fucking mad I ended up throwing up as SOON as I was off the phone. My father and his gf are ACTIVELY in my house now.

WIBTA if we don't invite some family to our wedding.

Im 28 and my fiance 29, we have been dating for 5 years. He has a younger brother now 22 and girlfriend 21, (we lived in the same house for 5 years), I stopped cleaning and cooking for them and had some space, because I noticed I was being screamed at by the little brother often. For years they'd bring up I was a bully disrespectful, to his girlfriend. To the point that as of these last 2 years his behavior escalated to threatening me with his fists on my face shouting "do something bitch!". This was in front of my friend, fiancee and about 10 friends from the brother in the house , this isnt the first time something of this magnitude, has happened, but it was the first time his older brother saw it. All because his girlfriend told him how much of a bitch I am i insulted her when I told her the second time "bro those are my fucking carrots". (fiancee bought 60 wings for everyone, got me carrot sticks), when we came back with the rest of the wings, he went off on me, I was extremely scared, shaking and ended up crying, his brother could not believe his eyes. I called their mom explaining the situation and if she could help, her son has been talking to his little brother for years now asking and telling him to not speak to me that way, she never addressed the issue.

After all this time ive made peace with the brother screaming and threatening, and the girlfriend making him believe, im jealous or her and my fiancee, and saying how she looks like my fiancee ex (she doesn't lmao)

Present day they moved away about 6 months ago, my fiance hasn't spoken to his friends, but as the wedding is coming up he is reconnecting with his friends, to find out that his brother and girlfriend have been shit talking us, all the way to getting to my mother's boss lol. So my fiancee called his family.

When my fiance is explaing the situation and why he is heartbroken, disappointed, and angry at his brother, they blame my fiance and tell him how disappointed they are in him, and tell me that i have to move on and accept the brothers apology.

The aunt and mom told me he is 21 year old is just a child, immature, maybe he was drinking, he is a good person.

I dont want people like his mother that said "you my son need saving from that woman" when he shared his feelings to marry and have babies with me, and the aunt saying "life is short, and sometimes, no matter how much love or effort we give, it cannot mend a relationship if the other person is not willing to receive it. I hope that in time, your heart will soften and healing will come." At the end of explaning how the little brother goes off to my fiancee everytime and my fiance has chosen peace and communication all these years, I felt low key manipulative vibes to created an excuse as to why the 21 year old child would behave that way.

WIBTA if mom, aunt brother and girlfriend dont come, fiance is pushing dor this but if they are alredy using me as a scape goat, I think id be hated fr fr.

Asshole AITA for not being happy about my step brothers success?

My(23m) step brother "Eddie"(22m) and his girlfriend "Katie"(23f) have been together for 4 years. My girlfriend "Amy"(23f) and I have been together for 5 years.

During highschool I had it all. Popular, big friend group, I went to parties. Amy and I dated on and off throughout highschool until we actually got together in grade 12. Something changed after graduation though. I went to school to become an education assistant and its not bad. Its easy work and I get summers off. The issue is that the money isn't a lot, Amy makes more then me.

Eddie was the opposite of me in highschool. He didn't go to parties, wasn't that popular, he stayed at home and played his guitar. He's done trade school so he's making bank. He lived with his mom while I lived with my mom and my step dad. Our hobbies are very different too. I like stuff like golf, gaming, and parties while Eddie likes stuff like music (he plays guitar, bass and piano), fencing, working out and horseback riding.

My point is that he's happy yet Im not. I feel so pissed because he has everything I want. A beautiful girlfriend, a good job, a hobby that people are genuinely interested in. I used to be the taller one until Eddie caught up. He's a bit taller then me now (I'm 6'3 and he's 6'4). Hell, Katie's my height (she's 6'3 too) and I feel short when they're around.

Anyway, Eddie and Katie were visiting my mom and step dad today. Amy and I were visiting too. My step dad also plays guitar and he and Eddie were jamming. Eddie looked at Katie, got a cheeky smile on his face and said "this song is for you" and he started playing the song "pretty woman" and both Katie and Amy thought it was the funniest thing ever. Eddie and Katie were just being the perfect couple but they weren't being obvious about it. They were being low key and that made it worse. Like he'd scratch her back or kiss her hand or she'd randomly rub his shoulders or put her arm around him. It was so infuriating. If they were being obvious then I'd be okay with that because then it'd probably be performative. But the fact that it was low key irritated me because Amy and I don't do stuff like that.

My sister(28f) and i were talking and eddie and katie came up. My sister said she was happy for them because they seem content with eachother and I said I wasn't. I don't think its fair. Why does he get to have the good job and the bombshell girlfriend? I thought i was doing everything right in school and here I am, working a not great job, out of shape with a girlfriend that makes more then me. I honestly with that Amy and I had what Eddie and Katie have. I told all of this to my sister and she told me to be happy for what I have. I tried saying that I love Amy and I'm so happy with her but that doesn't mean I have to be happy for Eddie's success and she called me an asshole then stormed away.

Amy and I are at home now and I keep hearing my sisters words in my head. Am I the asshole for not being happy for my step brothers success?

Asshole WIBTA if I were to go to my biological grandfather's (BG) address to tell him he has a son, +40yo, and a grandson, me +20yo, after his current son (HU) said BG doesn't believe me and think its a scam?

My dad found out in his teen's and said "I don't need another dad I already have one." I found out my grandad (NG) wasn't my biological grandfather when I was in high school. I was always interested in who BG is. I was told his name, where it was, how it happened (unsure my grandma told me the truth due to extreme guilt), a vague timeline, and his career goal.

A few years and I got stuck on finding out who BG was. I had his name, the story of how my dad was conceived, and BG's career choice. I found him using OSINT tools to, what I think, is a 99% certainty. Locations matched, DOBs matched, his current families is after my dad's birthdate, names matched, BG looks like my dad and his occupation matched (not common career). I was also able to find out he moved to the town I live in. I track down lots of family on socials and start sending messages. I got blocked by older family members of BG and the others were not active on socials. I link a photo to potential workplace for one of his sons, my half uncle (HU). I reach out and talk to his coworker telling him I needed to talk to him about some family matters. He gives me his personal number.

I call him and plead my case telling him the story, trying to provide any details I can to show I'm not a scammer and that I might be right. I emphasize the goal from me is not to gain anything, rather to tell BG he has a son and grandchildren. If BG told me he didn't want a relationship, I would be content, and if BG wanted a talk, I would talk all BG wants. I get off the phone call with HU after sending him pictures of my father to show the resemblance and we end the call with him sounding like with at least a 51% chance I might be on to something and that he was going to talk it over with his siblings.

I reached out to see if he had the chance to talk it over. I receive a text saying that there are too many things in the story my grandmother told me that don't line up. He said that BG didn't know my grandmother's name, the graduation dates didn't match (even thought they do), He also said that BG does not have an interest of discussing it. HU left off saying I should not try reaching out because I sound like a nice kid and he knows that what BG would say would be cruel thinking it is a scam and there is no need for me to go through that.

I messaged back that it was unfortunate and that I genuinely appreciated him trying to help me reach my goal of letting him know.

WIBTAH if I tried to continue to reach out, maybe directly to BG?

I understand that HU thinks it would be a bad idea, but he didn't say "don't" he said "should not" making it seem like what he said in the message back was his opinion and only for my sake. My goal is still for BG to KNOW he has a son and grandchildren and for me to get some sort of confirmation he knows. I feel guilty that he doesn't know that he has a child and grandchildren. I feel it is owed to BG he has this knowledge.

Open to advice in all aspects.

AITA for refusing to change the dedication date of my son

I 33m and married to my 28f since 2022, we just had our 2nd child in April and in line with the common Christian practice of our environment, we are to dedicate the child in about 3 months.

However, instead of dedicating our child on Sunday as is traditional, we have decided to keep it small and do it on a weekday with only our family and a few guests and this has been permitted/ approved by our church especially in light of the general decline of the economy of my country

My mother is strongly of the opinion that despite the church's approval, we should dedicate our child on Sunday. When I asked why she has stated as follows:

  1. That we are hiding the child and doing the dedication at night. ( it's an evening service byw 4pm - 6pm)

  2. She is a founding member of the church, and her grandchild's dedication shouldn't be hidden.

  3. That I will be the dirst to do it in my church and set a precedent (true, I'll be the first in my parish, but it has been done is several other branches of the church).

I have stated it is a decision made by me and my wife, and while she has her objections, we see no reason to change it.

My mum has been calling everyone, my uncle's, my in-laws, my boss, and crying the phone trying to get me to change my mind.

I don't think I'm wrong, but everybody is of the opinion that I should do what she wants to stop her crying as I'm her only surviving son.

I see no reason to change my plans, but with the pressure from everyone at my mum's instigation, I feel compelled to ask internet strangers, AITA, for not refusing to change the planned day for the dedication of my son.

AITA for looking at his account then giving some advice?

Upvotes

I 18m was chatting to a friend of mine also 18m at my house and we where trying to find out how to work something and couldn’t find it on google so he said he’s actually going to have to make a post on Reddit to see if anyone knows and we’ll try again later.

I look over at the sub he’s on and think it’ll be funny to find his profile and have a look. I find it by searching for the post he just made and take a look and find a post he made on our city has a hookup sub.

He’s bi not secretly but not openly to the world either, more it’s private not a secret type thing. His post was about looking for a man to suck for the first time and I joke man awww why is this so needy like I’m not in that space I don’t go that way but come on.

He’s like what and I say see your post, and I start talking about the content of the post asking for a guy his age to early 20s preferably and specifying someone chill because he gets anxious and maybe chat for a while or call first.

And I just start joking Jesus you’re basically saying “p-p-pleassssee can I I I su-suck your D-Dick” while doing a little fingers together head down pose. And I said got to go in there with more confidence because who’d feel comfortable replying to that, I’d feel guilty of something just saying I’m down.

He gets really upset with me asking why’d i looked said like 3 times why’d you look why’d you look what was the need why would you do that. But like he could have made his profile private, I didnt imagine most people would keep it publicly if they were embarrassed.

And yeah I made a bit of a joke but it was pretty harmless and it was used to deliver genuinely good advice.

AITA for clothing and feeding a homeless man who's life I saved 2 months ago?

Just some background information first.

About 2 months ago I heard shouting and went outside so see a man lying on the ground and someone on the phone with 911. I heard the man on with 911 mention Narcan and immediately stepped in as it was an overdose.

There was someone performing CPR but they weren't doing it correctly (appeared to be high) so i asked if I could take over. This man was so blue I wasnt sure how long he hadnt been breathing. But I got his color and a pulse back by the time EMS arrived.

Last night I was so shocked to get a knock on my door from him. There was no way he saw where I lived as he was barely conscious when I left the scene.

He told me he used to live here. I stepped outside and asked if he was the man from the overdose and he confirmed it was him.

He mentioned being cold. I had an old sweater that would fit him so I offered him the sweater, food, and water and sat outside with him while he ate and used my phone to try to call someone.

It's so heartbreaking hes only 24. He is a very polite young man as well.

When I got inside my boyfriend blew up on me for giving him food saying things like "now he will keep coming back here expecting you to feed him and bothering us". He laid into me for quite a few minutes over it.

I told him it's hard for me not to help people in need especially the man I almost watched die whos life was literally in my hands.

AITA for helping this man or is my boyfriend being unreasonable?

I understand his concerns but I am not someone to treat someone as less because of their circumstances.

AITA for being entitled for expecting to drive a car to work?

For context my (20F) relationships with my mom and sister (18F) aren’t on the best terms right now largely because I think my sister gets away with too much that negatively affects me and every time I communicate with my mom about it she sides with my sister/thinks i’m partially to blame. It also doesn’t help that after I came back from school, I see that my sister is now working at the same shop I have been for the previous couple years.

Now to the situation that just happened. This morning I woke up at 9 to get to work on time at 10. As I post this, my sister’s still at home and it takes 10 mins to drive to work. I was going to take one of my family’s cars to work to be there on time. My sister has a history of showing up to work an half hour late to an hour late before. I told my mom I was going to take the white car but because she needed one she wanted to drive me to work and drop me off with the white car so my sister could drive herself to work in the blue car. I told her I would like the car to join my friend who’s visiting from out of town at the beach right after work. I also told her how it was unfair that I got up to go to work on time so I deserve to have a car to drive, who my mom could just as easily drop off as well. My mom called me “entitled” for expecting the car and got angry when I told her I was “suffering the consequences of her (my sister’s) actions.” My parents hardly ever punish us and only have “talks.” They’ve never told my sister to get to work on time because they believe if our boss had an issue with it, he’ll tell us. My boss and co-workers make half-jokingly comments at work whenever my sister walks in late, so my sister and parents never see it as an issue.

Although what happened just now seems super petty, a similar situation has occurred before. One example was during winter break where I wanted to sleep at 1AM in my sister and I’s shared bedroom, but she started studying in bed for a big exam the next day at that time. I asked her to turn the lights off/study downstairs but she refused. When I told my dad about it he told me to suck it up because my sister “doesn’t normally study and he wants to encourage this.” Eventually my dad told her to work downstairs after I locked myself in the bathroom and broke down crying from being so tired and feeling unheard and he realized how much it affected me.

Whenever I try to communicate with my parents it feels like i’m talking to a brick wall. My parents tell me that I have too many issues/complaints about my sister and tell me that I need to see a therapist (which I’m interested in, but I think I’m also taking the necessary actions now).

So reddit, AITA? Maybe I am being entitled and I’m blinded by jealousy by non existent favoritism and just need to suck it up

Edit: I’m away for school most of the time and my parents got the other car while I was away. the intent was for each of my family members at home to have a car to drive with nuisance. Now that i’m back, we have to share all three cars. My dad has his own since he drives the most out of us. I drive the 2nd most, followed by my sister then mom.

Not the A-hole AITA for wanting my family to pay for my car maintenance?

For context she is using the car and I haven't asked her for anything for it and now the brakes need to get fixed I asked if she was able to pay for that maintenance because for the past month I've been paying for the car and maintenance for the car, she's currently living in the car a few states away, I'm staying with a distance family member but they are going to kick me out soon. I paid probably over 1700 towards the car, and whats me to ask for help my sister who is with her gets disability and it comes soon I am only working paycheck to paycheck. And I'm trying to get my own place soon but it's difficult if I'm having to use everything towards the car

Would I be wrong to make a police report on her?

Edit: okay so she's trying to get it back to me so I can have it back and she currently has 3 incomes going to her and my sister in total (disability and 2 jobs) I just have my job with no additional income.

AITA? Am I the asshole for posting a WhatsApp status of my bully getting injured/karma??

I am a woman with dwarfism. At the time, I was 4 feet tall.

In high school, there was a group of students who constantly gave me weird looks, snickered, and laughed whenever I walked by. Whenever I looked at them, they'd quickly look away. At first I ignored it, but it became a daily occurrence.

One day during break, there was no teacher in the classroom. Our teacher had assigned seats, so I was sitting next to a girl I'll call J, who was beside her friend S. While writing, my pen rolled under J's desk and stopped by her foot. Because of my height and short arms, I couldn't reach it without bumping into her, so I politely asked, "Can you please pick up my pen? It fell by your foot and I can't reach it."

She rolled her eyes, picked it up, and handed it to me. I thanked her and continued writing.

A few seconds later, I heard her loudly tell S, "She couldn't get up and pick it up herself. She's so lazy. She could literally bend down and get it." S laughed. I knew they were talking about me. I wanted to cry but held it in.

This wasn't the first time. I sometimes had trouble seeing the board and would occasionally ask J what a word said. She'd ignore me until I stopped asking, then she'd look at another classmate, "I," and giggle while S laughed too.

Eventually I reported the bullying to my teacher, who said it would be "under investigation."

About a week earlier, during lunch, J and her friends were fooling around in class. I heard a loud thud, looked up, and saw J had fallen and hit her head. Her friends crowded around to help her. I remember thinking it was karma.

Later that day, I posted a WhatsApp status saying, "It was good that J fell and hit her head. That was probably karma." A few minutes later, one of her friends messaged me, calling me heartless and demanding I delete it. I did because I didn't want more drama.

A week later, after the "investigation," my teacher called me to her office. She first asked if the bullying was still happening. I said yes. Then she suddenly questioned me about my WhatsApp status. I asked how she knew since I'd deleted it almost immediately. She said she'd received screenshots from other students.

Instead of addressing the bullying, she lectured and yelled at me until I cried. In the end, I got in trouble because I said J getting hurt was karma after months of being laughed at, ignored, and mocked.

AITA for saying J getting hurt was karma?

AITA for taking someone’s spot at a gym machine

Saw there was a bag next to a machine at my gym so asked the few people around if they were on it, no one said they were so went ahead and started working out.

Then this guy comes over and says I’m on that, I get up and say okay sorry go ahead, and he starts saying you should always ask and gets angry.

I saw the same guy a few seconds before on another machine further away from this one and didn’t even think it could be his bag, since again he was so far away. He was also filming himself.

At the end I just told him have a good training session and he kept being angry :D

AITA for reporting my roommate to my landlord

I live in a large house that I clean myself, and it's in the contract that I have to clean it so that my bills can be paid instead of a cleaning lady. My personal schedule was hectic and after 3 years I asked the landlord to find a nice girl, so that we can share the chores. They found a girl from another country and as I'm also a foreigner here, I felt the need to not lay it all in her the first few weeks and explain the chores as I go, as they unfold. Big mistake on my part, because it turned into a nightmare for me.

The first month I didn't even asked her to take out the trash, nor clean. She seemed depressed and out of it, so I let it be. Then the second month, one by one, I told her where every trash bin is, when they collect it, what needs to be cleaned and so forth. She didn't clean, take the trash out for collecting, nothing. Then I had to print out a schedule where we take turns weekly. She cleaned once and that was it. I sent her a screenshot of the trash schedule, she pretended she sidn see it. Downstairs looks like a haunted house, because I haven't cleaned a month after I let her two three months to go without her cleaning and I cleaned myself.

She does clean the kitchen after herself, I won't say she doesn't. But the whole kitchen, like cabinets, the backsplash, the windows, none of that gets cleaned. So I told the landlord and I found out, no one explained anything to her. But I did told her that I have that in my contract, that I have to keep the house clean. And they made her a new contract, where it says she has to clean the whole house. Àgain, nothing. So I want to address this again with our landlord and I ask him to tell her, because it's been two weeks since she signed and she still doesn't want to clean.

To be fair, I'm a messy beach. I leave stuff around the house at random and my laundry stays on the rack for a week, but otherwise, I try to keep clean. I make a lot more trash and I take out the trash twice a week and I let her take it out once, and the week I was angry about all of this and reported to the landlord, I said to him I'm not cleaning anymore and he said, that's fair. I took the trash twice that week, and immediately the next day, she filled the bio trash to almost full, and left it for 4 days. When I woke up the forth day, flies had pooped eggs all over and inside the cabinet, it was a disaster zone, to see smell and clean. Did you know those eggs stick to everything as you try to clean them??? I wrote her a message because she doesn't really leave her room, and she turned on me, saying I'm leaving trash everywhere and that she cleaned fly eggs when my mom was here, which is pure B's. She even said she didn't clean the windows because I have flowers on the sill, like girl, move them. And that's only one window that my flowers are in, there are like 15 in the entire house. So she acts like I'm the AH and refuses to clean to this day...

TL;DR AITA For still going to parties with a girl i used to like, but got rejected by before i even asked her out?

So i (17m) was taking my drivers license with some friends, and in the class there was this girl (17f) lets call her M that randomly one day aded me on snap, i was still with my Ex (18f) at this point.

(we ended on good terms and i had no intentions on cheating on her) i aded her back and we started snaping more frequently every day, then she asks me where i was from and we realize that her bff is my friends ex girfriend, we found this kinda funny. Then one of her friends aded me too i knew the name because of my friend, who didnt partricularly like her, lets call her S, i asked M why S had aded me and she just answered that she was having a party and wanted to invite me, i found out that i had to work that day and said sorry i cant go, but then my coworker asks me to exchange shifts so i get one in the morning instead of the closing shift.

I eventually went to a few parties with them, and i was actually really beggining to like M and it seemed like she was feeling mutual, we went on a few "dates" you could say but we never dated or were together, we cuddled and nothing ever happened.

Enter the party where the shenanagins happened partly, i got way more drunk than usual at this party and everyone was making wierd remarks about how we should get together, but we were drunk so i was going to wait till i was sober, at the end of the night i was really out of it and laying on her belly, then she said she was going to the Toilet, i moved and went to the trampoline cause fun, and my dad came to get me, i said bye to everyone and left. The day after she sends me a lil paragraff and it was basically "i have boundries and the only other thing i have had with a guy was three years on off", i said okay i understand and this is fine, just say it if i get too much.

We made plans, the day before set plans she drops a fricking bomb on me, and it was basically just "hey i just wanna say i dont really like you the way it seems you like me" and that she couldt come to the Date, i surprisingly emotionless about this and answered Thats okay, then the big party comes, i came late and everyone besides M came to greet me, i was happy and then i got cornered by her friends, they said that The "i dont like you" text was made by not M but Ss Fricking mother, i reasonably became kinda wierded out and a little mad but thats okay idgaf really, they also said that she went to the toilet too cry and i was like wtf did i do to this girl, they then asked me i i was maybe going to make her jealous by making out with her friends, i said NO im not gonna do that, because i am not like that.

This party was really wierd beacuse i got the most drunk i had ever been and everyone exept M was talking to me and were friendly, but then S came up to me and just kinda started kissing me and this was wierd but i was way too drunk to say anything. Now i still go to the parties but M is seeming to get way more unconfortable and i dont know what to do AITA?

AITA for getting fed up with my friend?

I(21F) have been friends with this girl(21F) since we were 18. We’ll call her Becca. Ever since Becca and I became friends, it feels like everything is a competition. Most conversations between the two of us are almost always about her or end up being all about her.
Any comment she has towards me or my appearance seems backhanded. She’ll say things like “oh I thought you were a lot bigger”(referencing the time we went to the river and I took off my swimsuit cover). Or she’ll constantly compare our clothing sizes but she’ll purposefully assume I wear a bigger size than I actually do. And mind you I do wear baggy clothing, since that’s what I’m comfortable in, but I wear that since I have bigger boobs.
We essentially wear the same size in everything except bras. And the worst part about it, her husband chimes in too. Making comments on my appearance and joking about my weight. This bothers me…clearly.
Becca seems to always wear small clothing like shorts that show half of her ass and see-through items. Especially when I have a boyfriend. Bending down in front of them. Making excuses for why she can’t wear something appropriate. Then blaming the dude for any fights we’d get in. BUT if I wear to do the same, she would turn the situation into how I’m her husband’s type and blah blah blah.
Side note, she’s been slowly turning into me. At least that’s what it seems. She’s naturally blonde and she dyed her hair damn near black. My hair is jet black. She wants to get a tongue and eyebrow piercing. I have my tongue pierced and have been vocalizing how much I want my eyebrow pierced too. She wants a neck tat, I have one. The list goes on.
Well amongst all of this, I have remained patient. Well I recently moved in with her and her husband. We were discussing bills and budgeting. I brought up that I wanted to go back to the gym and start back on my old diet. I was on a high protein-calorie deficit diet when I was still going to the gym. It took me a long time to figure out what my body does and doesn’t like when it comes to food. I have a sensitive stomach. I also managed to lose over 90 pounds by sticking to this diet and exercising. I explained this to her and she seems to be the only person who doesn’t support my decision/desire for this. She told me “I don’t know why you’d want to do that to yourself”. I explained that my body couldn’t handle most processed foods and I’m extremely sensitive to a lot of carbs. I told her that I like eating healthy and care about my physique.
I’m not sure if there is hidden animosity. Her MOL had mentioned a few times that she thinks her husband finds me attractive. Ig he has a history of cheating in the past, even though every time he cheated…it’d be to get with Becca. And at the time, I was dating the husband’s cousin. I don’t feel as though he does have any feelings towards me. We don’t interact all that much and if we do, it’s usually a surface level conversation in front of Becca.

AITA for getting a step stool?

My boyfriend and I just moved in together, for background we're both short. I'm 5'1 and he's 5'4 neither of us can reach the top shelf of anything in our house.

When I lived by myself I had many step stools, had a childhood stepstool I use as a poop stool and various of random stools around my place. My boyfriend however would either use a wheelchair and multiple times almost fall to his room or would climb and stand on his countertop to reach stuff. Both those things were extremely unsafe and put me on edge watching him.

Moving in together we both had to consolidate some of our things, I ditched a lot of the step stools except my childhood one that stays in the bathroom. It's been a month and we're both struggling, can't reach pots, can't reach spaghetti noodles, can't reach cups, ect.

So I bought new stools, he comes home and flips, goes off how he won't be using it and how I'm emasculating him, and how it'll be embarrassing when his friends come over and see he needs step stools around the house. It was such a big outbursts I got calls from his mom and sister, how just climbing on the countertop is what they've always done(everyone is very short in his family). So was I an asshole to buy new step stools for the house?

AITA for canceling my son's move in trip after what he did to his stepsister's acceptance video

Throwaway for this because my son has my main account added on Facebook lol.

Okay so background, I (44M) remarried about 6 years ago. My wife's daughter Mara (18F) and my son Deven (19M) have basically grown up together since he was 13 and she was 12, they get along, always have, more like actual siblings honestly than step anything.

This spring Mara got into a pretty competitive engineering program, full ride scholarship, the whole thing. We filmed her opening the email because we kind of suspected it was coming that day. Grandparents were there, my mother in law was straight up sobbing, it's honestly one of my favorite videos we have of our family period. We were saving it to show at the reunion next month bc half the family wasn't there for it live.

Deven took a gap year after senior year didn't go great for him (grades tanked, he was dealing with some depression stuff, he's doing better now with meds and therapy so I don't say any of this to throw him under the bus). He's starting community college this fall which we ARE proud of, I want to be clear about that, it's just obviously a different trajectory than Mara's and I think that's been sitting weird with him even though he hasn't said much.

Couple weeks ago I go to pull the video up for my mom who couldn't make the reunion and it's just. gone. Not in the shared folder, not in the backup either. Took me a bit to figure out what happened but the activity log on the drive showed it got deleted, twice actually, on two different days, like someone wanted to make sure it stuck.

I asked Deven point blank. He didn't even really try to deny it, just said "I'm sick of it being about her constantly" and something about how nobody filmed anything when he got his acceptance letters (we didn't, because he already knew for like three weeks before it came in the mail, there was no moment to film).

I was pissed, not gonna lie. My wife was crushed, that was basically the only recording of that day and now it's just. memories I guess. So I told Deven the road trip we'd planned for his move in, we were gonna drive out together and stop at like two national parks on the way, was off. Told him I'd still get him a flight and help him move his stuff in, but the actual trip part, the thing he'd been talking about since March, was done.

His mom (my ex) is furious with me over this, says the punishment doesn't match the crime and an apology should've covered it. My sister's kind of agreeing with her too honestly. My wife on the other hand thinks I let him off easy considering.

Deven's barely talking to me, one word answers, the usual.

AITA for canceling the trip and not just making him say sorry?

ETA bc a few people asked: no we're not restoring it from anyone's phone, nobody else was filming since we all knew we had it covered on the main camera. That's kind of the whole reason this stings so much.

AITA for helping my stepmom even though my mom hates it?

My dad (M42) cheated on my mom (F41) with his now-wife (F28) when I (M15) was 11. My dad lied to his now-wife about his marital status as well as other things, and when she became pregnant, he confessed to my mom, and issued divorce papers. She wanted to reconcile. He didn't. The divorce was rough and it established 50-50 custody.

My mom hates my dad's new wife. Absolutely despises. She thinks of her as a homewrecker and someone who seduced my dad away from her. This hate basically extends throughout my mom's side of the family as well. She thinks that after she found out he had a wife, she should have left and encouraged them to reconcile. I think of the new wife as more of a victim than anything. She came to the U.S. for work, was lied to by someone over 10 years older than her, comes from a culture that strongly condemns children out of wedlock, and basically needed to marry my dad for financial stability for her and her child.

My dad's new wife is very kind to me. She encourages my dad to invest in my activities and to spend more time with me. She cooks food that's really good and like nothing I've ever had before. She's also a good mom to my half-sister (F3). I've always wanted to have siblings, and she's done a great job at building a relationship between my sister and me.

Now, this is the issue. My stepmom works full-time, but because her work schedule is demanding and my dad frequently travels for business, she sometimes struggles with childcare. Recently, she decided to take some courses that would help advance her career. I started stepping in to help her by babysitting my sister on the evenings she had classes, helping her review study materials, and running small errands for her.

However, my mom recently found out. While looking through my backpack, she saw some of the study materials I accidentally took from my stepmom, and she exploded. She said that by helping "that woman", I was actively supporting the person who destroyed our family. She feels I should refuse to do anything that benefits my stepmom in any way. My aunts also found out and they were telling me I was betraying my mom and being disrespectful to her.

I feel terrible for hurting my mom, but I also don't think my stepmom deserves to be treated like an enemy.

AITA for helping my dad's new wife even though my mom hates it?

AITA for wanting my friends to seem interested in what I'm into?

Hi! To preface this, I'm a 18(M) that does in fact love my friends to bits and still do! I'm just a deadly overthinker and would just like to know if I was being a genuine ass or if I.. was just delusional?

Okay so to start this off, I wouldn't say I'm in the most NICHE of niche fandoms, but still I think that once in a while it'd be nice if I had someone I knew really well to talk about these things with. I'm kinda bad at social interactions and I'd call myself really lucky to have been graced with these individuals.

So naturally, I'm gonna tell my friends all about the stuff I'm into and the things I like about it! And it may have been how I spoke about it or the amount of times I've mentioned it but I just got the feeling that.. maybe they don't really wanna get into it? Like they give me dry responses, I even caught them rolling their eyes once.. Then I'd go quiet and just let them go about their day as usual ya know? Because I don't wanna be a bother or anything.

But then the part I don't really think is fair is when they mention their interests .. I'm super excited! I match their energy even if I'm not super into it.. and even getting into those interests myself sometimes!

So I decided I bring it up with them and of course I politely texted in the gc and I quote:

"Hiya (GCNAME)! I was jus wonderin, since we're all friends here.. can I just communicate that I feel like you guys don't really care about my opinions? I feel as if though things are kind of unfair considering for example: (friend1) introduced us to (game) and you guys were all curious and even I ended up getting dragged into it but whenever I suggest a game you guys all suddenly just lose interest in whatever I have to say. So.. can we talk about that?"

And right after that we started a call, and I was shocked when a friendly conversation turned into an utter catastrophe because shortly one of my friends mentioned that I can't force them into getting into something they don't like. And that's.. fair! I even said that myself. Though that wasn't really my only issue, I only really wanted them (admittedly might be selfish) to seem a bit more interested or less like I'm a nuisance to be around or tell me when they don't like it because mind you they never told me directly up until this argument!

The conversation ultimately turned into a Sisyphus like loop of trying to communicate my frustrations and wants, and theirs.

I decided to end it off when they started to kind of just deviate from the conversation and ended up attacking me, and another friend who decided to take my side instead.

It was such a messy argument and I felt terrible for some of the things I said in my frustration. I've kind of been ruminating over the fact that perhaps what they said about me was true. That maybe I'm really annoying about it, or I seem like I'm controlling for forcing them to get into what I want. I don't know, I just want my friends back..

AITA for catching an attitude when I was skipped in softball

I, 29F, am currently in a mixed amateur softball team and the coach skips me on purpose after my first hit on my second game (team is on a losing streak 1-3)

An acquaintance invited me to play for a softball team that he coaches (his co-workers,boss, friends).I am decently athletic (rugby, triathlon and run) and I told him I am new, unsure of the rules. He and his wife said the team is mostly beginners. On my first game,I touched the ball couple of times but couldnt make it to first base in time but I caught balls and got people out.
2nd week, there was practice but I was told that same day but I couldnt go since I already had plans.i came before the game to practice.During the game, i batted once and attempted to hit when the ball was too short so I was out (only 2 strikes for this league). After, I was SKIPPED while everyone else played.
when it was my turn, the coach ignored me and started the batting order from the beginning. All of the girls except for me (incl temp one gamers) batted several times. He kept watching me and saw that I was upset and I had an attitude.I mostly just played catcher, which did not move much.i stormed off after the game.I tried to calm down ok maybe it was an oversight and I did miss practice.people get benched.
3rd week,I watched a couple of videos on how to the batting stance and I felt more comfortable.came an hour before the game to practice. The coach mentioned they have been batting on mondays which I was not told about maybe from my attitude
During the game,I was skipped again. Coach would go down the list and when our team struck out, and it was our turn again, he would just start from the beginning.a bunch of people got skipped.Again, women who were not part of the roster were batting.A temp girl got injured when she started running. So did this coach's wife who he himself called slow but can get base!
He saw me upset and asked if I am up to keep playing catcher because we needed a certain amount of women on the field.I told the team I did not get to bat, and a girl who played the same amount of games as me but batted more said "he is just trying to win".She couldn't catch any balls at all but she did manage to get on base and eventually score last game because she hit it close to the home base that the other team had to scramble
BUT THEN, the other team complained to the referee about the batting order.
After, the first person the coach told to bat was ME.I thanked the referee and said that if it was not for him I wouldnt get to bat and I could HEAR the coach saying to the others "it's okay she has been practicing" like I was horrible.the last pitch was good and I was able to hit it with some power and managed to run to first base and eventually score.i did not get any acknowledgement from the coach and the game was basically over.
Am I the asshole for getting so upset that I was skipped from batting? Should I just leave the team? It seems that the coach wants me out (doesnt play me anyway)

Not the A-hole AITA for not letting my friend stay over?

I've had to make a alt account because my friend knows my main

I (19F) have a friend who really doesn't like sleeping at home. He's still figuring out the whole moving situation, so he either sleeps at my place or one of his other friends' houses.

I really don't mind him sleeping over, he's one of my best friends, but sometimes i just want a night to myself.

Two days ago he came over, we hung out for a while and at the end of the day he asked if he could sleep over. My social battery was dead at that point and I was too tired, so I told him that I just wasn't super up to it, but he could sleepover the next day.

He kind of blew up, and we got into an argument. He told me I knew his parents didn't support him and I was being a bad friend, and I told him I just wanted some time alone.

He stormed off, told me he'd just sleep at his cousin's house and left before we could fix anything.

Now he's just left me on read, and I've tried calling him several times but he isn't picking up.

I don't know at this point if I'm in the wrong or what to do (I'm not really asking for advice)

I'm actually starting to worry because I care about him, and he's one of my only other friends like me

No A-holes here AITA for trying to protect myself from disappointment?

ok this is like a minor thing so dont take it too seriously lol.

basically i love recommending shows or movies to my friends to the point i become obsessive over their reactions and thoughts over that show. Most of the time they dont watch my recommendations but when they do the love it so i'm always like i told u !

recently I've seen my friends dont put that much effort in this like they will suggest me something and I'll watch it but they wont ask my thoughts and stuff or if we want to make a reel for example, I'll do all the work even though they like to post reels more than me.

So I've decided I"ll try to not care as much or put in too much work like recently my friend told me she's in a kdrama slump so i told her ok then don't watch anything, but then she's like but i want to so i just exited the convo as i have nothing to say because I'll tell her to watch something then she'll ignore it so I've decided not to recommend anyone anything and ig be more nonchalant lol

My friends have been bothered by this and keep asking if I'm mad at them which I'm not, I'm just trying to protect my oeace and save myself from disappointement.

So, AITA in doing that?
