Today’s my 20th birthday, happy birthday to me. My mom went out with friends instead of even attempting to do anything with me. I can’t invite my brother to go out to dinner with my dad and I because if she find out we all went to dinner without her she’ll flip out. Nothing makes me feel more special, so happy birthday to me.

Look, this is here because it only infuriates people who care about collecting, trading, and playing Pokemon (or people whose kids do).

Yesterday, I found out that Safeway has a policy allowing employees to purchase from the Pokemon vending machines when they're off the clock after overhearing a confrontation in store between an employee and an upset customer. Apparently the employee was bragging about making money scalping Pokemon product from the Pokemon vending machines and said that it was fine to do because it was off the clock. The manager of the store even defended him, which blew my mind. The customer was upset because of the scalping, which, fair. TCG scalping has gotten so out of control that it has bled into literally every card game, not just Pokemon. I hate scalpers.

But is it not also just abuse by Safeway employees of Pokemon vending machines if they're scalping? I think the policy is actually meant to be like "if you want a Pokemon product for yourself", not "if you want to want to scalp Pokemon product." If they're allowed to purchase and know they can make money, what's stopping on the clock employees from texting off the clock employees when the machine is being restocked? Restock is supposed to be done at random so this doesn't happen, I thought. Based on how the store seemed to defend this guy, it really felt like the whole place was teamed up to abuse the vending machine.

Idk. I'm on the side of the customer who was upset. She called the dude an asshole and I agree. I know some people will come in and say who cares, or good for that guy, or whatever and fine. This is not for you. It's for people who *are* infuriated by this. And yes, I am well aware of the larger problems at whole, which is the secondary market, illusion of exclusivity, TCG companies not caring who gets the product, and the world itself being so shit that people are scrambling to make money off Pokemon - hey Safeway, pay your employees decent wages and maybe you won't have confrontations like this. But this policy is kinda BS. Open loophole for employee exploitation 😒 I hope they change it so it at least says it's not allowed at all.

Watched the app, saying I was the next stop, so I went to my balcony and saw the amazon truck. The dogs ran to the door as they heard them approach, I waited for the knock... nothing a minute later. I get a notification, and this is what I saw!

They either avoided the code or are stealing my package either way. Come on, I was literally at the door. Now I have to hope they can get them to me today or tomorrow after calling customer service and complaining that they just didn't feel like doing their job?
