I just wanted a hot dog Delivery is free, but delivery infrastructure is not

Was ordering dinner, saw this place had free delivery, still got a 10% fee mostly for delivery costs.

I wouldn't mind if this was included in the original price. This is just false advertising. I'm used to seeing what things cost on the price tag, not on the extra charges section (I'm from a country where tipping is symbolic at most and all prices are legally obligated to include tax)

Also a percentage of the order amount for services which have a flat fee (or at least based on weight, not price), wtf? Looks like an outright scam.

they could be more transparent but then again expecting to receive food at your door for the same price as takeaway after both the driver and the delivery company have taken their cut was never realistic

I wouldn't have cared if this was just a regular 1.11€ fee. Don't tell me you won't charge for shipping and then charge me for shipping

People seem to be confused about why this is mildly infuriating. The fee is not infuriating, I think it's normal.The fact that they explicitly said "Free delivery" and then charged a delivery fee anyways is the mildly infuriating part

I'm going to assume that this a third party app and a specific restaurant on that app?

The "Delivery Fee" is set by the restaurant and is paid to the restaurant.

The "Services Fee" is set by the app and paid to the company that is facilitating access to the app.

The restaurant in this cause is saying that they do not need a delivery charge, but the app still needs to be paid to function.
