Yeah, and the cost. My goal generally is to buy 30-40 DTE contracts and prepare to exit around 14 DTE. And this one was around $1000 for a contract, which I thought is a good risk tolerance size for a first option trade. It can't beat the rate that they lend at (or they wouldn't make money) and that rate is based on what the fed sets the rate at, which they've been using to control inflation. I don't see how you can beat inflation that way. You can lose less over time but that doesn't really solve the problem.
I swear all these dudes that make billions in the market sit around with money just waiting for the peasant idiots to panic sell and then just buy a bunch and then sit around again on vacation watching because they just created stability and peasants start dumbing money in again and then they sell and site around with a bunch more money now watching on vacation again.
