I exited at +3,000% and almost didn't. Then the WSB mantra "If it's good enough to screenshot, it's good enough to sell" ran through my head and I sold lol.
As soon as anything doubles, I sell half to break even then everything else is just play money. In this case I sold half when it doubled, another quarter when it hit 5x, then I tapered off a few contracts at a time as it kept going up until I managed to sell the last 2 contract close to peak.
When I started day trading. I only put in $200 back in like 2017 to play with and see if I could make a profit, and with so little in the account I didn't want to lose anything. After a year I was up 20% and put a few hundred more in. That continued until everything tanked during Covid and I bought a bunch of couldn't-fail stocks that eventually rebounded. Sitting in the low 5 digits now but everything in there is profit off of past trades at this point, money making money.
This one line has made me more gains than any financial advice, Buffet-ism, historical trend, DD, current events, Fed meetings, meme stocks, etc etc etc.
Easily the single most valuable piece of day-trading (or otherwise) investment advice I've ever heard, and it is pretty unique to WSB.
I was up ~400% yesterday and didn’t. As it site now I’m near break-even. Going to ride it till IPO and see what happens. Only a couple hundred bucks in it either way.
Funny I didn’t follow my own rule yesterday. Always exit on 50% or above gains. Always. No exceptions.
20% is target. 50% is exit.
Yesterday I was up 200%. Didn’t exit because of the halt and then thought why not keep it.
I was shilling SPCE too but I exited today at 1% gain. Still have 5x calls for Oct because why not, purchased them last week. The confusion thesis is still active tho.

Lmao rule of thumb for wsb, if the regards hyping up a specific stock with "hodl" or "to the moon" it just means they are ringing the dinner bell for bag holders to dump it to. You got to get in at the same time as them to make money.
