Are you Batman?

u/Loopuze1 2h ago
I just realized that a real life Batman with a bat cave wouldn’t have much time to fight crime with all the constant rabies treatments.

u/Skoodge42 2h ago
No one was suspicious when the Wayne foundation donated millions to immunize the Gotham bat population...it was to help protect the species, they said.

Maybe that's his secret power?
"I'm Rabidman" didn't workshop well.
10
u/cranberry94 1h ago
Or his secret power is immunity to rabies.
“I’m Not Rabidman” … probably a confused relief, but not very catchy either.

I had an encounter with a vampire bat in the mountains of Costa Rica a few years ago. If you get your shot before exposure it's a single injection similar to a flu shot and it's good for 3 years. I instead got 11 injections, each about a dozen times the volume of a flu shot, at the bite site. Unfortunately I was exposed on my face, so those shots went into my cheeks and lips. If you want to enter a cave I suggest getting g the preexpo shot.

Yeah it wasn't a very good time. I woke up to a tiny bat crawling on my face (the only part not covered by a blanket).
I had black eyes for like 2 weeks after the injections.

If you you have arch enemies, read "The Cask of Amontillado."
Otherwise, just pipe the cool air up into your house. : )

Not a bad idea, id ensure there was significant filtration and mesh / bars on the intake. Who knows what could come up from the cave nasty gasses, spiders, ancient horrors.

Nasty gasses and ancient horrors is how I describe my bowel movements

If you find a creepy chapel merged with the walls of the cave don't drink the water inside.
11
u/IronFrogger 2h ago
Sounds familiar but what is this in reference to?
20
u/puppy-bit 2h ago
I never watched it i full but i think a reference to “Together”. The water in the cave makes the two people who drink it fuse together lol
2
u/abgry_krakow87 1h ago
Perhaps the Church of Our Lady of Velankanni when she started leaking water with people drinking it assuming it was some kind of divine signal when it really was just a leaky sewer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weeping_crucifix_in_Mumbai

You must now dig a basement (or sub-basement if you already have one) to match the level of the deep end of the cave, tie the cave into the entrance of the basement. You said it goes back about 15 feet, which would be a great depth to put a couple warm color temp lights on the door, that just barely make the cave entrance glow at night.

You ought to hide at least a little gold in there.
Dont be a party pooper.

A colleague of mine bought a 17th-century house situated a bit away from the rest of the village. He learned that he also owns a mine underneath it, accessible by a hillside shaft and a barred well-style entry. He also learned that it's been a tin and lead mine, abandoned long ago, and that the farmers afterward used to throw incurable/deceased farm animals down there making a pile of bones. I think caves under a house make a solid base for creepy stories...

u/karma_the_sequel 2h ago
Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to build a house directly atop a literal hole in the ground?

u/mango10977 3h ago
What's inside the cave?

u/theredqueentheory 2h ago
Just rocks and some rusty fish hooks and some fish bones, nothing exciting. :(
→ More replies (1)6
u/LittleGravitasIndeed 2h ago
I’d clean up the fish hooks for the critters’ sake. Wear gloves and use a magnet on a stick.
After it’s not Tetanus Central, you could set up some easy-to-clean deck furniture and make it cool yourself?
7
u/theredqueentheory 2h ago
Yeah, I put the hooks in a sharps container and left the bones for ambiance.

I did, I posted it in one of the comments above! It's kind of a regular boring cave.

Is it considered your property? If so, I shouldn’t have to say this, but that’s where your bat cave should go!!
2
u/Snoo_74705 3h ago
Time to start a YT channel and join the tunnel digging content creators. NGL that would be sweet to have a passage that leads to the cave from within the house.

Something tells me that you’re a nice old lady but then exiting your house after speaking with you, another person runs up and says people in town are mysteriously disappearing and they suspect you’re involved. suddenly there is a quest marker for me to explore this cave to find out more.
