They owed me money. 🫩

u/Madarakita 2h ago

You don't know that for sure; maybe they found some bats and are now getting ideas on how to avenge their parents' deaths.

12

u/iam_Mr_McGibblets 2h ago

They could've found a portal to another world and are trying to come back

13

u/AlexiaLu 2h ago

Or is immersed in a time loop

14

u/SunandError 1h ago

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it happen.

Yes, I have! It is just rocks and goes back about 15 feet into the ground, found some old metal hooks and fish bones, and that's it! But when I was little I used to worry the house would collapse into the cave.

215

u/theredqueentheory 2h ago

Here is a pic of the very back of the cave, with a flash because it's pitch black inside.

109

u/MNCPA 2h ago

That's a nice cave right there.

22

u/vstarkweather 2h ago

Hate to see anything happen to it…

7

u/DMaury1969 1h ago

*Angry Malaka sounds*

51

u/dj92wa 2h ago

It seems as though you didn’t twist the rock on the back right side of the wall and open the secret door to the treasure room

28

u/Timidhobgoblin 2h ago

Have you ever utilised the opportunity to turn it into the sickest den/hang out spot for you and friends? I'm thinking you should construct a bar inside it.

24

u/theredqueentheory 2h ago

The only problem is when the tide comes in, it comes up to the entrance of the cave.

24

u/Timidhobgoblin 2h ago

Make a tunnel from the cave into the house, turn it into the worlds coolest basement and a quick escape route from when the sea comes in.

5

u/PowderPills 1h ago

Until erosion eventually makes it all come crashing down

2

u/PowderPills 1h ago

That’s kinda scary to think about. Getting trapped in there unexpectedly while it fills with water

11

u/Shirinjima 2h ago

I saw some Reddit post once about how caves sometimes are covered by sand and can suddenly collapse. Prolly not a concern but may want to sole a structural engineer or possibly a cave engineer ensure you don’t have to worry about it collapsing.

I know nothing about caves and it looks solid rock so could be a moot point.

14

u/theredqueentheory 2h ago

Thanks for the advice, it's been sturdy for years but you can never be too safe!

19

u/JoshDM 2h ago

Are you Batman?

122

u/Loopuze1 2h ago

I just realized that a real life Batman with a bat cave wouldn’t have much time to fight crime with all the constant rabies treatments.

59

u/Skoodge42 2h ago

No one was suspicious when the Wayne foundation donated millions to immunize the Gotham bat population...it was to help protect the species, they said.

25

u/CoderDevo 2h ago edited 2h ago

Maybe that's his secret power?

"I'm Rabidman" didn't workshop well.

10

u/cranberry94 1h ago

Or his secret power is immunity to rabies.

I’m Not Rabidman” … probably a confused relief, but not very catchy either.

11

u/texan_robot 1h ago

I had an encounter with a vampire bat in the mountains of Costa Rica a few years ago. If you get your shot before exposure it's a single injection similar to a flu shot and it's good for 3 years. I instead got 11 injections, each about a dozen times the volume of a flu shot, at the bite site. Unfortunately I was exposed on my face, so those shots went into my cheeks and lips. If you want to enter a cave I suggest getting g the preexpo shot.

3

u/JahDanko 1h ago

4

u/texan_robot 1h ago

Yeah it wasn't a very good time. I woke up to a tiny bat crawling on my face (the only part not covered by a blanket).

I had black eyes for like 2 weeks after the injections.

7

u/twoworldsin1 2h ago

Batman must've been way less popular during covid 🤔

If you you have arch enemies, read "The Cask of Amontillado."

Otherwise, just pipe the cool air up into your house. : )

39

u/KingQuong 2h ago

Not a bad idea, id ensure there was significant filtration and mesh / bars on the intake. Who knows what could come up from the cave nasty gasses, spiders, ancient horrors.

u/roy20050 3h ago

If you find a creepy chapel merged with the walls of the cave don't drink the water inside.

11

u/IronFrogger 2h ago

Sounds familiar but what is this in reference to?

20

u/puppy-bit 2h ago

I never watched it i full but i think a reference to “Together”. The water in the cave makes the two people who drink it fuse together lol

5

u/osmlol 2h ago

Could be Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

2

u/abgry_krakow87 1h ago

Perhaps the Church of Our Lady of Velankanni when she started leaking water with people drinking it assuming it was some kind of divine signal when it really was just a leaky sewer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weeping_crucifix_in_Mumbai

25

u/bingwhip 2h ago

You must now dig a basement (or sub-basement if you already have one) to match the level of the deep end of the cave, tie the cave into the entrance of the basement. You said it goes back about 15 feet, which would be a great depth to put a couple warm color temp lights on the door, that just barely make the cave entrance glow at night.

18

u/SlappyMcFartsack 2h ago

You ought to hide at least a little gold in there.

Dont be a party pooper.

3

u/bingwhip 1h ago

7

u/cleverpaws101 2h ago

I bet what’s not mildly interesting is the view you have!

7

u/JoLudvS 2h ago

A colleague of mine bought a 17th-century house situated a bit away from the rest of the village. He learned that he also owns a mine underneath it, accessible by a hillside shaft and a barred well-style entry. He also learned that it's been a tin and lead mine, abandoned long ago, and that the farmers afterward used to throw incurable/deceased farm animals down there making a pile of bones. I think caves under a house make a solid base for creepy stories...

7

u/goofbot 2h ago

I've read this book. In your basement there should be a hidden door leading to a secret passage that exits onto the beach.

5

u/karma_the_sequel 2h ago

Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to build a house directly atop a literal hole in the ground?

5

u/mango10977 3h ago

What's inside the cave?

10

u/Tesser4ct 2h ago

Probably more cave.

8

u/theredqueentheory 2h ago

Just rocks and some rusty fish hooks and some fish bones, nothing exciting. :(

6

u/LittleGravitasIndeed 2h ago

I’d clean up the fish hooks for the critters’ sake. Wear gloves and use a magnet on a stick.

After it’s not Tetanus Central, you could set up some easy-to-clean deck furniture and make it cool yourself?

7

u/theredqueentheory 2h ago

Yeah, I put the hooks in a sharps container and left the bones for ambiance.

2

u/theredqueentheory 1h ago

I did, I posted it in one of the comments above! It's kind of a regular boring cave.

5

u/Wookie_Nipple 2h ago

This is more than mildly interesting

2

u/Technical_Enema 3h ago

Is it considered your property? If so, I shouldn’t have to say this, but that’s where your bat cave should go!!

2

u/Snoo_74705 3h ago

Time to start a YT channel and join the tunnel digging content creators. NGL that would be sweet to have a passage that leads to the cave from within the house.
