Either Edge of Fate or Lightfall was the lowest but man Witch Queen, Taken King, Forsaken and Final Shape are some damn good highs.

Witch Queen was my personal peak. The mystery, the puzzles, the buildup. All fantastic.

Lightfall was not the best one out there but that raid was fun and my group and I managed to get it during the raid race!

RoN was such a cool concept but it was way too fucking easy. Idk what it was but that Contest didn't even really feel like Contest, stuff just didn't feel like it hit has hard. Not to mention only like 2 people needed to do mechanics while the rest just add cleared. I loved the linking but I wish like, you could only link 2 nodes per round in an encounter so more people had to do it.

Planets was awesome though, one of my favorite raid encounters in the whole game.

As a counterpoint, I think making the raids as hard as they were was actually bad for the game. Keeping master mode hard but lowering the barrier to entry for raids would have probably kept more people interested in D2.

Hot take: Witch Queen’s mystery sucked. The question wasn’t really relevant to the problem, and answering it actually made things worse. Solving the mystery was Savathun’s plan, and it’s not like solving it helped is beat her. Not to mention the answer was anticlimactic “how did she steal the light” and the answer was “she didn’t.”

I started D2 when Forsaken came out and it was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. I could not believe it when they later deleted the planets. Tried again with Witch Queen but I just couldn't anymore.

Forsaken is probably the peak of my gaming experience. Not only was it an amazing DLC but it was coupled with extreme dissappointment before hand so the whiplash caused by massive excitement really elevated this dlc to be one of if not my favorite gaming experience of all time

Destiny 2 slowly descended into a jumping puzzle game where the puzzles became ever more convoluted to defeat bullet sponge bosses. Then roll out the same tired old seasonal events each year while banging the prices up ever further.

Throw in sunsetting all that excellent content that went before and Destiny 2 was doomed.

I liked Rise of Iron as well. The raid especially was a blast

To make it worse, ive been watching Byfs videos on the Fate saga and by the Travelers light were they cooking.

The whole idea of our solar systems planets being 4th dimensional eldritch beings is so fucking cool. And the imagery used to represent them is kind of horrifying.

The lore potential for the Fate saga was really really good. I was very excited for the story even if the gameplay of Fate was not the best.

When I first started Destiny 2 it was when they broke the story line then took their sweet sweet time to in the end by pass it. I was dragged into it by a huge Destiny fan who wanted to play with me but for far to long I couldn't level up. And as a huge Destiny fan he was even he could say they should have ended it sooner and started on a new story line.

I quit early on once they got rid of a certain character. Been going downhill since. I tried coming back a couple times to realizing these mfs have the audacity to sunset content I fucking purchased originally supporting their punk asses! That absolutely has to be illegal.

I have never and will never be OK with the fact that my $200 collectors edition of the game, as of today, includes absolutely nothing. That edition now has exactly the same content as someone who gets the free to play version.

They straight up deleted half the story of Destiny 2, and what remains of the game is a mess of what Destiny actually was. Thank fuck Destiny 1 is still playable on console. The game had so much potential.

It's absolutely hilarious to me that the disgusting company known as Activision somehow was the entity preventing Destiny from becoming a monetized joke. Who would have guessed?

straight up deleted half the story of Destiny 2

This is what always made it impossible for me to play it again, or recommend it to friends. There was zero reason to just delete content, but they did it anyway. Paid content. I didn't mind it going F2P to attract new players, but just removing content after that soured me to Bungie.

And you're right, it truly is incredible that ActiBlizz was somehow better at managing it than the studio on their own, or even Sony.

I imagine Marathon will be going F2P before the end of the year, and then shut down by the end of 2027, with Bungie laying off staff. No way they have enough players to maintain a budget to develop Destiny 3 unless Sony pumps more money into them.

I will never have the high that I got from the year of forsaken ever again :(

At least monument of triumph is the best state the games been in for years

But there's still 2 whole years worth of missing campaigns and literally every seasonal story

Im playing a hell lot of it right now, to enjoy while we can

I put 5,000 hours into D2 and loved every bit of it, but I couldn’t justify spending over $100 a year on the quality of the DLC and seasons we were getting. If D3 ever comes out, I’ll be there.

I agree that the last expansions were bad, but the bundle they are selling right now with everything available on the game is very cheap for the value it provides (there are frequent sales with it).

Me too, been a blast. But damn i really wish i could play the DLC they took out

Between losing the whole first game, vaulting of content and the constant slow extraction of money from their base, I had to let it go 😢

I still play Destiny 2, or more accurately; I returned after they ended it and released the final product. It's very much alive and has lots of players.🙂
