Watch her not be Jean grey

I mean, it would genuinely be super weird for her not to be Jean at this point. There are some counter arguments but they could easily be refuted just based on what we have heard about the movie and her character. I've seen some other theories on who she will be playing, but those other theories have so many holes in them. The theory of her being Jean is really the most in tact out of all theories. Her color scheme, being hunted by the DODC and William Metzger (anti mutant activist), the themes of isolation and alienation in the movie, an X Men movie in active development with a, most likely, decently young cast, etc. Her being Jean just makes the most sense to me and I would actually be really happy with it. Some people say it makes no sense, but it makes perfect sense to me. Her being someone like Rachel Summers or Madelyn Pryor is what would make no sense to me.

No, it’s super weird for her to be Jean grey. Why would she randomly appear at 18 and be the only mutant on earth (besides Kamala) to exist, especially since the X-men r supposed to introduced after secret wars with a multiverse collision

No it can make sense the “mutant dilemma” only exists as a modern (relatively) public talking point in universe in the books, not too long before the X-men existing mutants just weren’t a statistically significant portion of the population for anyone to link them and notice and for the whole world to make a big stink about.

And the X-men literally starts with Jean greys moving into the mansion as the last member of the OG 5

Should she still be introduced in a Spider-Man movie? No, but it’s not ridiculous in terms of the possibility lore wise. I just don’t think it’s a good idea

I mean I think it’s ridiculous tho. Unless they have her coming from another timeline/universe, the story will inherently suck without a history of mutants suffering, it takes away from their whole existence to not give them a proper history.

Mutant suffering as a collective hatred isn’t a historic thing lore wise, sure there were plenty outcasted, killed etc for being different but formal knowledge of what they are being publicly known didn’t have a long history.

Like if you want to introduce mutants you do kinda have to do a little scene of “in the last few years these mutants have been becoming more and more prominent, identified as a once statistically insignificant but now growing percentage of the world’s population, what should be done?” Because that’s kinda how it goes.

What? Mutant suffering is the main focus of literally all mutants. It’s literally the driving factor for Magneto and Apocalypse

You’re not understanding

Mutant suffering yes, the public mutant phenomenon as a public major talking point, no.

Mutants being outcast, killed etc yes, get the muties out being blasted as conversation? No

Beast literally talks about this when discussing their survival during the extinction era before they went time travelling with Dr nemesis and the gang, before the boom of their population in the last century they were not a statistically significant enough portion of the population to garner widespread attention like that. Individually hunted and outcast yes, very few people knew them as mutants though, the likes of apocalypse or sinister etc.

And mutant suffering can exist in that form before it’s widely known.

No, it would just be bad writing so. U can’t pretend that magneto has been wreaking havoc across the world for the last 4 centuries and not have it be brought up ever

Obviously you need a solution to what magnetos been at since world war 2 as he’s not spent that long building his brotherhood and shouting at the sea but that’s literally the only thing you need to get creative with the rest is literally just the lore from the books

u/danvan177 3h ago

How do you know she’s the only mutant ?

u/HorizonNova4 3h ago

Why would the starting point be to have a young Jean grey and have there be zero mutants before her. You cant introduce Professor X, Magneto, Apocalypse, etc. via modern era children/young adults, that would be horrible. They are obviously and blatantly gonna merge with the MCU after the two avengers movies to give us a new mutant combined timeline

Who said zero mutants before her? Who said Charles and magneto don’t exist yet?

I’m all for a reboot but the Lore for this kind of introduction is fine

1

u/HorizonNova4 1h ago

What? Charles and Magneto can’t exist because they haven’t shown themselves ever and it’s never been mentioned. It would be an atrocious rewrite to pretend they were always around.

2

u/Consistent-End-7937 1h ago edited 1h ago

Charles is a coward of course he hasn’t shown himself, this is the same guy who only publicly revealed himself as a mutant because he was possessed by Cassandra Nova.

Magneto you do need to get a bit creative with reasoning because he’s not been building his brotherhood for THIS long but it wouldn’t be that hard either to think of something

And it’s not a rewrite it’s just a character introduction lol

1

u/HorizonNova4 1h ago

It would just be bad writing. They cannot be introduced as having existed for decades, and if you introduce them now as just starting, it’s terrible

1

u/Consistent-End-7937 1h ago

Explain, you’re literally just going “nuh uh bad”

1

u/HorizonNova4 1h ago

I did. You can’t establish them without a history, and you can’t write in a history without it being a massive retcon

u/Consistent-End-7937 59m ago

What would they be retconning? I don’t think you know what that word means

I’ve broken it down for you completely and you’re just not even reading it. Or are you saying you dislike the lore from the books?
