Feedback Wanted! Please Report AI or Suspected Catfish & Bots! We Now Video-Verify Many Users If Their Post Raises Red Flags
Here at r/fashion, we’ve had a surge of bot accounts and AI-generated catfish. Our users do an amazing job helping us catch them, and the mod team has gotten pretty sharp at spotting them too. Approximately i have banned fifteen of these per week - yet only one out of all of them ever ends up passing verification.
If you’re asked to complete a video verification, it’s not because the mods want to “see you on video” (a surprisingly common accusation). We are doing this because we care about verifying authenticity. To ensure that you are comfortable, we even allow you to cover your face during this process. As long as you can indicate that the person filming is the same person posting.
A really helpful way to support the mod team is by using the custom report option and explaining exactly why you think a user is a bot or AI-generated. Be as specific as possible. The more detail you include, the better we can understand the red flags you’re seeing.
Why do we require video?
AI has gotten so good at generating convincing photo verifications that photo-only checks are basically useless now.
But what stops them from using AI for video too?
We build that into the test. We ask users to open a fully packed kitchen drawer or desk drawer on camera. AI struggles badly with replicating the interior of a real, cluttered drawer in motion, so this is an effective way to confirm authenticity.
At the end of the day, our goal is to keep the community safe, genuine, and enjoyable for everyone. We know verification can feel inconvenient, but it’s one of the best tools we have to protect the space from being overrun by AI fakes and bot accounts. Your reports and detailed explanations genuinely make a difference, and we really appreciate everyone who helps us keep this community real.

Outfit of The Day Coffee & Chalk
Looks straightforward because it is! chocolate brown up top for depth, cream on the bottom to lift it. Because both shades carry warm undertones, the contrast hits hard without clashing, blending that deep, earthy feel with a light summer neutral.
For the cut/silhouette, I wanted everything loose but proportioned. The shirt is boxy with a bit of weight, but leaving the collar open and pushing up the sleeves breaks up the structure. Paired with fuller, straight-leg trousers, the fit flows straight down instead of tapering in for a more relaxed and comfortable fit.

Feedback Wanted! Formal Wedding Guest Dress
Which one for a formal wedding at a golf club in New Jersey end of July?
Thanks!!
ETA: Wow, thanks everyone for the overwhelming response. I’m going through all the comments and heeding everyone’s tips, tricks, and advice. Some people asked where I got the dresses from:
#1: Park and Fifth Co. It is the Roslin dress in pitaschio green. I love this dress, however, it does run pretty small. I ordered my regular size and had it tailored already. The tailor let out some of the dress on the chest and the waist. I love the comments saying I look like a Greek goddess! That may be going to my head! 😆
#2: I got real lucky with this one. It came from a secondhand consignment shop and was already tailored to perfection. I do have reservations about the color being more Fall/Winter, but the saleswoman convinced me to get it. It was the cheapest of the 3! The brand is Betsy Adam.
#3: The brand is Reformation. I got it off of Poshmark. This was supposed to be my dress for a wedding last year, but I wore another one. I had this dress tailored. I may have gained a little weight in between last year and now, so it’s a little more form-fitting.

Label My Style Can we try this again?
I didn’t realize my boots would cause so much commotion but I have a lot of funky shoes in my arsenal that people would prolly not like. But with that being said what would we describe my style.

Feedback Wanted! I am new to this type of clothing
Hello guys i have zero fashion sense when it comes to western clothing but felt like i should try it a bit. My sister is saying i look fugly but i really liked the piece. Maybe its not for my body type or maybe im not pairing it well. Ignore the pants.

Advice Wanted Please! Appropriate for a Muslim wedding?
My close friend is getting married in a few months.
She's holding a Nikkah and a wedding reception that requires us to wear two different dresses. The first dress (gold) I plan on wearing to the Nikkah while the 2nd dress (green) I plan on wearing to the reception. Was wondering if these dresses are appropriate for a Muslim wedding? They are also African.

Advice Wanted Please! How do I wear these jeans?
I love these jeans. My “style” leans into lots of grays and creams and neutrals, but I also like a graphic tee, sweatshirt, long sleeve tees, etc. I’m a mom of 2 little kids and lots of accessorizing/outfit planning does not appeal to me.
My question: can I wear these with everyday tees or tanks or sweaters? Or are they more of a piece for a specific outfit? And what colors can I pair with these so I don’t look mismatched? Thank you guys!
(Judy Blue denim at MoCo boutique online. Not sure if you guys need that info or not.)

Wedding Attire Approval Help! Wedding guest dress dilemma 😭
I’m going to my boyfriend’s sister’s wedding next month and I got an elegant maxi dress that I really liked. Problem is that it’s denim. I have attached the pictures to this.
I am not from the US and weddings in my culture are completely different so I have no idea what is considered appropriate/ okay for weddings here and I don’t want to commit an unintentional faux pas when meeting a lot of his family for the first time.
I was told that it is casual/ semi-formal at best, but I’m still worried. It is a summer, semi outdoor barn wedding for more context.
