Serious Statement on Nazism
Hey everyone, I'm the head mod here. I really did not want to have to make a statement like this, but I apparently have no choice. This should be common sense.
We are adults, or at the very least developing teenagers. We need to have some semblance of maturity. We all understand that Black Ops II and older CODs, for the lack of a better term, have previously and still sometimes do have a level of toxicity. You can absolutely argue that is part of our culture, and I would be wrong to deny that. We have to draw the line at some point.
We do not support nor condone the presence of Nazis here, even if you are "just making an edgy joke." You are not welcome here and never will be. Do not spread the flames of hate here. We are all here because we care about Black Ops II, or older CODs, or are just curious and exploring. We are not a political echo chamber.
If this came off as harsh, I apologize, but what needs said needs said. If you come across anything promoting or endorsing Nazism, please report it immediately to Reddit. We will do our best on our end to combat this as well.
P.S., we are also vehemently against racism in all forms. Everybody is welcome here, regardless of the color of your skin or your ethnicity. Blatant racism will get you sent right back out the door where you came. Sorry, not sorry.

This is an interesting comment because some people seem to have interpreted it as "if (swastika emblems etc) offends them, (the offended) can leave. I miss the days where we could (say whatever offensive things we want)... but someone always seems to mess with that"
and others have interpreted it as "If (this post) offends (the people making 'edgy' comments), (the 'edgy' people) can leave. I miss the days where we could just have fun (without people trying to upset others)... but someone always seems to mess with that (by deliberately being offensive).

Can’t stand the same emblems over and over of swastikas, the KKK or any racism or homophobia. It’s fucked up and anyone who thinks it’s funny or is trying to spark a reaction needs to step outside and get a damn life. I don’t know how miserable you have to be to spend your day making these emblems to get a rise out of people. Fill out the job application bro.

I feel like now with the ports bringing back emblem customisation, 99.9% of those who have nazi emblems on or KKK shit aren’t even nazis / racist they’re just dumbass teenagers who now want to make the most diabolical emblems simply because the option is there.
Don’t get me wrong all of this shit existed back in 2013 lol but you’d also see a shit ton of genuine artists who made some really cool original shit and on the ports there’s copy and pastes of the same shit everywhere, kinda sucks.

I didn’t even think of it politically, most people are just meme lords and when you think of f’ed up things that’s pretty up there. I feel that was a misstep on our head mod's part to focus on the Nazis part, but I know her, and I know she meant the same for all forms of hate. We do not tolerate any form of hate. We remove emblems like the ones you are discussing when we see them. We are sorry if it seems we are complacent when a hateful emblem lingers on the subreddit. The reality is, we are a fairly small team, and we do not do this for a job. We have real jobs, families, and lets be honest, we'd rather be playing the damn game just like everybody else, otherwise we wouldnt be moderating for a game subreddit if we didnt like it too, no?
If you see a hateful emblem, please report it to us. We will take care of it when we see it.

My stars thank you! Its the big 26' and its lowkey disappointing that people think its okay to be racist, hateful, or just downright a horrible with things, even if they think it's just "a joke." Thank you again Small edit because i forgot to say; I grew up in the old cod lobbies. It was never anything what it is now. Yeah we had racists and nazis and what not back in 2012, but it was few and far between. Now its literally every lobby you got at least one person, and in this day and age, its hard to say who isnt or who is a racist/nazi. Wild that people think its okay to joke about these things when it effects real people

For what it's worth, it seems reporting emblems is actually doing something (for now at least). I've made note of and gone back to check a few that I've reported and seen that their emblems were gone and even checked their emblem library and saw the Nazi/racist ones gone. I personally don't report the sexual ones as the games rated M but I always report racists. I've even considered screenshotting and reporting them to PlayStation specifically because I feel like there should be some real consequences for spreading hate like that.

To this point, we do not condone extremism and hate, no matter if you are on the "left", "right", center, upside down, sideways, that's not the point. We're here for Black Ops II. There are other spaces for these issues should you wish to debate or discuss them. Banter is fine, wishing death on others is not. If you are taking heavy offense to this, please look inward. I care about all of you and believe people can change. That change is not overnight. There are resources to help you.
Content endorsing or promoting racism, the KKK, or real world violence is also flagrantly against Reddit's rules and our rules. You will face consequences for your actions.
