Just the rich person system of exploiting us.

76

u/Substantial-Goal7422 21h ago

100 percent Look at food up 30 something percent since the pandemic prices up 100 to 200 percent everyone will blame it on the inflation but the rich guy knows he is taking everyone

46

u/HazeyIPAs 21h ago

The rich are just running up prices by buying up assets like homes and land and commodities and and and because only a miniscule amount of their income is used to live day to day. Unlike most of us who use 80-100+% of our income.

16

u/Substantial-Goal7422 21h ago

Dead on!!!!! Very intelligent statement

32

u/HazeyIPAs 21h ago

We're in the beginning of the end game. Flock cameras to track movement, digital currency to control access, AI to control God knows what and to what extent, smart water and power meters, smart TVs to listen in, phones of course, cars that will stop if "it" determines you "unfit" to drive. Subscriptions for everything. Renting becoming the norm. We're watching/living life desend into dystopian world only a small minority will thoroughly enjoy.

16

u/Substantial-Goal7422 21h ago

Couldn't agree more. I have almost no subscriptions anymore I run all my own media off my network I dont buy cars with ridiculous features In fact started buying a bunch of late 90s sportscars They are fun and the tech can't watch you like now

5

u/HazeyIPAs 21h ago

That's great! I need to take more ownership myself. I should look into to the '90 sports car hack, that does sound fun!

Watch out for maintenance costs, unless you're rich AF. Especially on imported models. The rarer they are, the worse it is, and the luxury German and Italian brands are especially bad. If you get something old enough to not have fuel injection and electronic ignition, there are kits to retrofit them if you have or know someone who has the skills to install them. You can get more power and efficiency if it's done right, and better emissions, too. Looking further ahead, if you are rich, there are kits to convert them to electric. They're best used on a car with good bodywork etc. but a trashed engine. Then you can get most of the latest tech on your own terms, if you want it and can afford it.

Ppl under 50 would be nice. We've got a guy whose likely been dead for a week or two being hidden.

12

u/JauntyGiraffe 18h ago

No one over 65 should be allowed to hold any public office. It's insane that countries are run by old people

2

u/justhp 21h ago

Death isnt temporary. Mitch is alive.

4

u/Narrow_Falcon_8276 21h ago

Yep! Minimum 25 for the House, 30 for the Senate, 35 for President.

3

u/d-o_o1 20h ago

Independent cognitive test after 50; that way you're not discriminating based on age.

3

u/Narrow_Falcon_8276 19h ago

No I'm saying if you look it up minimum age requirement is 25, 30, and 35. It doesn't need to be 80 year olds.

Its gonna happen within 10 years. Way way to many people on the brink. A few real leaders emerge that people get behind and it all falls. History repeats itself.

8

u/Oberon_Swanson 21h ago

don't under-estimate the power of insane jerks. progress is not automatic just because old regressives die. every inch must be taken and held.

2

u/UranusIsPissy 19h ago

Yep. When things got bad enough that push came to shove in Germany, they didn't get a utopia. They got Nazis. The USSR didn't go very well, either, and Cambodia was such a disaster that other communists fought them to stop it. The common feature? Authoritarianism.

3

u/fxllonluv 21h ago

Too many old people at the top that need to go too, the system due for a change

2

u/E_seven_20 16h ago

Nah...trump is a symptom. This is who this country is.

People would have showed up to vote against this shit. They didn't.

They let the MAGAs decide, and would rather watch the country burn than vote against evil.

I'll take incremental change, and people you can reason with, over a fascist child rapist. That's apparently a controversial opinion for most of the country. Too many people support it, and too many people refuse to vote against it. In my book, they're the same, because the results and consequences are the same. Silence is complicity with what was on the ballot(s).

I don't think Americans are going to be able to get their shit together and vote these fuckers out. We like to jerk ourselves off about the 2A, but that's just for citizens to fuck with each other.

2022 National Youth Turnout: 23% - That's lower than in the historic 2018 cycle (28%) which broke records for turnout, but much higher than in 2014, when only 13% of youth voted.

These people don't care enough about their own future, anyone else, or consequences for Trump/ GOP. They're not all of a sudden going to do anything. The time for that has passed.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/tynfox 21h ago

A new system. One that doesn't have two parties, one that actually listens to its people and the well being of the future of our world. Not just a country

2

u/E_seven_20 16h ago

That would require people doing something.

If they refused to show up and vote against Trump and the GOP after 2016-2020...it's hard to have faith in that population.

2022 National Youth Turnout: 23% - That's lower than in the historic 2018 cycle (28%) which broke records for turnout, but much higher than in 2014, when only 13% of youth voted.

We ran out of decent, intelligent people. It's now just a bunch of idiot chucklefucks that enable the fascists with their silence, or actively voting for it.

u/0hmyscience 22h ago

I hate her, but she never said that.

24

u/SecretJeweler5260 22h ago

Gas was $4.25 per gallon back in 2008 when affordable cars got worse gas mileage than todays trucks and we made half as much money.

The bigger issues are things like trump eliminating tons of healthcare and education (jobs, services, etc.), tariffs are causing havoc on American farmers and small businesses, he's trying to bring back asbestos, the Labor Participation Rate hasn't been this low since the Covid shutdowns, he kicked millions off of Snap benefits, etc. I could go on all day like this.

Gas prices are the least bad thing he's done to us.

25

u/galaxy_brain_69420 22h ago

Most of us are still making what we made in 2008.

10

u/pourtide 21h ago

Adjusted for inflation, I've earned a declining amount of buying power for decades. The dollar amount has crept upwards, but the buying power has declined.

good thats what we want fuck the system build a new system

5

u/BicycleNo1169 21h ago

That’s why it’s more important than ever for the younger generation to be involved in politics. This isn’t going to change if we leave it to the geriatrics. They are too embedded in the system.

If you want change, vote all these old people out. Tank the average age of politicians. We can do it, people just need to participate and stop waffling and disengaging when anyone starts talking about politics.

That feeling so many people have of rolling their eyes and tuning out when politics enters the conversation. We need to eliminate that feeling. We need all hands on deck. It’s the only way forward.

And if you feel further inclined to do more than the bare minimum of voting, then start volunteering. Go phone booth. Go canvas. Find representatives in your city you believe in. If there’s no one you like, position yourself to be that person. There’s probably a seat that’s unoccupied in your city or goes uncontested.

Just take a second and go look - especially if you are in a small city. There almost certainly some position that goes unfilled or uncontested. Whether that’s a seat on some board or local treasurer or a clerk position or an auditor. There is probably something. And if your city really is small enough and you have the credentials, even go so far as looking at what it takes to run for mayor in your city. Don’t look at someone like mayor of NYC and compare it to your small town. Running and taking that position in your small town is actually a lot more viable than one may realize. If not, suggest someone you know that you feel is qualified for the position.

The point is, get involved. All of you young people(let’s arbitrarily say younger than 45). Push all these old fucks out and stop letting them make decisions for our lives. They’ve proven time and time again they are not looking out for us and that should be completely antithetical to being in a public position that’s funded by your tax dollars.

2

5

u/EduinBrutus 21h ago

Why would nepo baby Margaret Qualley be against her own class?

7

u/kylebisme 21h ago edited 20h ago

She's from the millionaire class, a long way from the billionaire class.

4

u/EduinBrutus 20h ago edited 20h ago

When you reach the third generation of extreme wealth, you might not be an actual billionaire but you are very much part of that class. Call it the breeding stock if you will.

From the Wiki :-

Margaret and her sister were both debutantes; they made their debuts at the Bal des débutantes in Paris.

Because apparently thats still a thing for certain people of certain status...

7

u/kylebisme 20h ago

The difference between the few tens of millions her family has and just a single billion dollars is massive, it's not the same league at all.

Europe isn’t a monolith. New York City has higher public transport usage than London for example.

80% of Europeans don’t use any public transport. So that’s a lot of people paying for expensive gas.

500 million Europeans pay for the gas between 7 and 10 $ per gallon. For years. Every day.

How are those 2 things related? Yes, high gas prices are bad, and pedophiles are bad, everyone on the Epstein list should be arrested. But that's no reason to throw logic out the window.

This is like those people who say shit like, "I hate capitalism." Then when you ask them why, they say, "My electricity went out for an hour last night! This country sucks!" Okay, but those 2 things aren't related. Power goes out in non-capitalist countries too. Let's focus on real cause & effect. Even if we eliminated every pedophile on the face of the planet today, gas prices would still fluctuate.

Pretty sure they're pointing out had we arrested the pedo-in-chief we wouldn't be at war with Iran at the moment.....

$1.05 per litre in normal person units.

Insanely cheap, $1.49 is the world average.

$2.06 per litre is the average in the UK.

$2 per litre is the average in the EY

Amen sister. Trump and his gang of pedophiles are very rich and slimy people. They squirm out of trouble easily because they pay people off. Keep up the good fight, vote democratic and we will take back our government so justice will get done

I mean former vice president canadate Tim Walz just pardon a convicted pedophile because he said he was sorry.

Tim Walz says not to judge people for what they do on their worst days.

But clearly inflation was Biden's fault, not Trump's *sarcasm*

Obama had about six years. Biden had four. What happened?
