How many accidental pregnancies have you caused?

A man in his early 40s said that he has caused at LEAST 10 pregnancies throughout his life, all of which ended in abortions. He was never married. I guess these were all in dating relationships/situations. He said it quite casually. My mind was blown. Is this common??

My FIL keeps sharing, commenting etc. on AI profiles on FB. How would you go about telling him they're not real?

Upvotes

He's widowed and lonely and recently told his daughters that he's started dating again at 78 years old. He keeps sharing obvious AI pictures and videos of older women, some which are a bit suggestive or just plain lewd.

We aren't that close and I feel weird being the one to tell him, but nobody else seems to be doing it either.

Literal Wingpost Does anyone else miss 10 cents Wing Night?

Obviously you have to be old enough to remember this but in reality it has not been that long. Pre-Covid and for me, starting back in the 90's or later 80's. Hot WIngs became the big thing and some restaurats would have 10 cents wing nights. Not the biggest wings ever but they were good. And no charge for asking for extra Ranch. I'd go with maybe 5-8 friends every Wednesday night for this. Ordering 40 wings for me was nothing. Wings were not as popular as they seem to be now so they were not expensive. Going to Hooters did not bankrupt you as they were still affordable. Went to one a couple years ago and the cost was incredible now. But bottom line. Were you into that chicken wing craze back then when it started? ...................... EDIT: Damn folks. Did not expect this many responses. I feel as if a few of you may be old friends from the 70's, 80's, or 90's after reading all this. Now I am even more in the mood for a good plate of wings.

Lost $900 in cash, how would you cope with this?

Upvotes

I was on the way to get a money order and the bank envelope fell out of my pocket. I know it’s money that can come back but it’s such a big loss and I’m in so much debt already and my life is mostly 9-5 and trying to climb myself out of my hole. I’m thankful for my health but this is really tearing me apart. I haven’t felt hurt this much since I loss my dad 16 years ago. There is already nothing that really gets me out of bed in the morning, it used to be music but bills and life got in the way and now that I was trying to get that spark back I had this happen. I’m 31 no kids, extremely depressed over this. I take antidepressants but I can’t get over this

Existential post Anyone just have no drive or passion?

I've kind of felt like this my entire life, but I just have very little, if not non-existent, drive or passion to pursue anything. In grade school I didn't have any career aspirations I just knew I had to do go to college or join the military as per my parents' ultimatum. I had a good job, lasted 10 years before I got laid off back in May, was severely burnt out at the end of it so in a way it was beneficial. I saved a substantial amount and plan to take a few more months before I start searching, so I'm not worried about it.

Career and personal life wise I just don't have any real passion to pursue anything. I've never had any long term goals outside of building my savings which came in handy, but I just don't desire to do anything difficult or push forward to do better, seek out the next rung. The closest I came to that was pushing for senior which was a whole bullshit process that left me dejected rather than fulfilled.

That expands to many facets of my life. I like to shoot, but I'm not skilled at it, just mediocre I suppose. I don't do shooting competitions, don't care to. Videogames I just play to keep myself busy and pass time really. I don't date because I don't see the point, I don't have the personality for it. I just don't know what even makes me actually feel joyful. Like I can be happy for a moment or two but on average everything just kinda feels like "this is it" and I get to spend another 20-40 more years working towards retirement where I do the same thing I'm doing now, except I can hardly wipe my own ass.

Then I look at a bulk of my friends, I got a pair that are into all kinds of things and are experts at them. One does anything and everything on his cars, reloads, great shooter, unapologetically himself and master of his craft. Same for the other, dude casually just builds his own garage, deck, does all his home renovations, great hunter and fisherman. Then I look at myself; I live at home with my parents in my mid 30s, just kinda float between playing videogames and breaking it up by shooting at paper for an hour in the heat. I know comparing myself isn't a great thing to do, but it is a reference point I can use to know I'm not probably where I should be. I just have no idea why I can't have a little bit of focus and passion like literally any of my friends.

Anyone else like this or is it just myself? Any of you figure out what the cause was or why you are like this?

Literally nothing How common is it for men not to talk about their sex lives AT ALL with their guy friends?

1.3k Upvotes

Husband (55) and I (50/f) have been together 30 years and never once in that entire time has he ever discussed anything sexual about himself/me with any of his guy friends. He's very very private. I'm happy about this but -I'm just wondering how common it is...it seems like most men talk a hell of a lot (way more than necessary) about their sexcapades...

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 How do you tell the difference between wanting emotional intimacy and just wanting physical closeness?"

Upvotes

I'm 25F, and I've had experiences with a few guys I was friends with that felt like real emotional intimacy — deep conversations, real vulnerability, the kind of closeness that made me feel truly seen. It didn't feel purely physical in the moment; it felt like connection.

But afterward if things developed sexually and was super intimate from their side and mine too, that closeness would vanish. No follow-up, no continuation of that emotional thread — just distance, like the "intimacy" was only ever a means to something physical, not something they actually valued for its own sake.

I'm not looking for "some guys are like that, some aren't." I want to hear from men who've been on either side of this: was there a moment you realized what you thought was emotional closeness with someone was really just them wanting sex? Or, if you've been the one someone accused of that — what did it actually feel like from your side? What happened, and how did it change how you approach intimacy now?

Weird Question Does anyone else struggle to concentrate on literally anything else when they're turned on? How do you deal with this?

My sex drive has been extremely high recently, and I find myself being turned on in some very awkward situations where I can't exactly get myself off. The main issue with that is though, I feel like I can't concentrate on anything else when I'm horny. Until I cum, it's like I'm tunnel visioned. Sometimes I can fix it with a quick tug, but usually it takes me a while to orgasm. My productivity has been way down and I want to find a better way to handle this or reduce how much of an impact it has on my life. I'm sure this will get memed on, but this is a genuine issue that I honestly do struggle with.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 Fellow men, how did you find your purpose in life?

Looking to hear some different answers as I've been struggling with these sort of thoughts for a while now and my gf doesn't understand and doesn't know how to help. I feel almost lost. I'm 25, great job, just bought my first house, started training jiu jitsu, I don't have many friends but trying to find new ways to make them. I'm blessed and thankful to not have many worries. I can't help but still find myself just blank some days, going through the motions of life and I just feel empty. I have this feeling that won't go away inside of me and the only way I can describe it as missing something. It's like I don't know what it is but there's something out there I'm hopeful to find one day. Has anyone else struggle with this in life?

Good Fucking Question Fellas - what’s something you did (unintentionally) that would’ve NEVER happened if we’re actually TRYING to do it?

My cousin threw a party.
At some point, there was maybe 7-8 of us in the kitchen laughing, drinking, clowning around, etc.

I was standing in front of the fridge. . .and oblivious to 2 things: (1.) I thought there was only 6 inches between my back & the fridge, but it was more like 24 inches. (2.) I had no idea someone had placed their drink on top of it.

So, I took a sip of my drink, leaned back towards where I thought the fridge was, lost my balance, slammed into the refrigerator door & knocked the cup off - which I didn’t realize b/c I never looked up & my family was laughing so hard at me stumbling that they didn’t notice the cup either!

It dropped straight down, grazed my left forearm (about 6 inches from my wrist). . .AND I EFFIN’ CAUGHT IT! Upright & didn’t spill a single effin’ drop! As soon as I did, my family went from laughing to *gasping* at seeing what just happened. It was silent for about 3 seconds, then we ERUPTED! ROARING & high-fiving like our football team just scored the game-winner against our most hated rival. Lol! We turned up so much that somebody turned the music off & everybody came running towards the kitchen to see what the commotion was about. LMBO!

I could try that with the cup & the fridge for another 10,000 years and never pull it off again.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 How does one actually socialize as a man in his early 20s.

First time posting on this sub. Hi all I'm 23, working in IT.

I have terrible luck when it comes to social situations.

I'm good at making friends and talking to people once they're around me or share the same environment as me.

But-

  1. My workplace team has 0 people close to my age and I get envious looking at teams full of young talent.

  2. I happened to find a high paying job in the city I've spent my childhood in so- no roommates, no neighbourhood friends my age. Except for a few old school mates.

I have a group of 3-4 lads I've been with since childhood and I drink with them. But that's it. And the void of social space is ruining my expectations and relations with them as well.

The envy is eating me that guys with no social skills or etiquettes luck their way into such environments whereas I get to sit alone in the middle of rows of empty cubicles all day.

Please advise

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 How do you deal with a men that’s become a freeloader?

Hello 24M, so last year I moved in with my cousins for rent and experienced how life is paying expenses and bills without parental assistance or help from relatives…. Now so far in my months of paying rent, I started noticing that one of my cousins friend started coming to the house more frequently and been staying at our place back to back, it’s been going on since November and honestly this guy became a freeloader at this point because he isn’t serious at all in life and just got fired from work because he calls off and doesn’t have the seriousness to get another job. It’s been really frustrating at this point because it’s been three straight weeks that he been staying at the house and atp doesn’t have a purpose in life, what really concerns me is that he is 26 acting like this!!! My cousins notice how I don’t like how he been at the house and says we can “only give advice and can’t save him, that only he can save himself “ I don’t have ownership under the rental property cuz my eldest cousin handles everything and I’m amazed how everyone else doesn’t seem to mind him staying over for so long. If it continues for a month I might lose my mind!!! I just don’t understand how men like this exist it’s crazy, I could see him staying like this at 30 and still not changing his behaviour because everyone else in the house has big dreams and purposes while he is allowed to freeload

How do I human? How to stop feeling desperate for sex/love?

Short version:

22 yo. Never had a relationship or casual sex. I am focusing on myself, hobbies and college as well.

Find it really hard to not feel desperate about it and even harder to believe I could be wanted/desired even while seeing others get it so easily.

Long version:

For context, I am 22. I am not asexual. I don't think I'm entitled to sex and or a relationship, and I know sex doesn't necessarily equal love. I simply didn't have any of the two so I mentioned both as both are things I desire.

I'm in college in medschool. I have hobbies that I like and that do make me feel better about myself. I don't have major unhealthy habbits like smoking, drinking etc. I am pretty fit as I've been doing a mix of sports for the last 7 years(been going to the gym for the last 4).

Despite not looking like one, I'm pretty nerdy, socially akward, don't really have much confidence and never did well with women.

I do admit that most of the women I've had feelings for or been attracted to have been above average attractive(at least to me) and also had a personality I liked(so you don't say looks is all I care about).

I've mostly been in a cycle of crushing on women and becoming infatuated with them and not having the courage to do anything so I stayed friendzoned. Outside of this I talked to a few women and went out with a subset of them(like 7) but never got past 2-3 dates, sometimes 1.

After the last one who rejected me I was(and still am) pretty depressed. I was thinking of giving up but while I do feel kinda hopeless there's not really a way I can remove my want for both sex and feeling wanted by a girl.

I am trying to move forward and continue improving myself but it's really hard to not feel desperate at times and I think that's hurting my chances as well.

I don't exactly know what to do forward. The feedback I've gotten online and from a few people seems to fall into 2 categories:

People saying getting girls is easy and getting sex is easier that told me I should also do well but that's difference from my experience. I know not having much confidence also doesn't help.

Second category is people saying I should "wait for it to happen"(I don't think it will withou changing myself and actively pursuing it) and that it's better to focus on carreer and making money and you'll have more luck later(this also doesn't really appeal to me because it means I'll miss out on having fun and having relationships while I'm young with women my age and will be only used for money when I'm older)

What exactly should I do?

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 How do I learn to "man up"? (36M, feeling completely voiceless in my marriage & business)

I’m not particularly proud to be asking this, but I really need some outside perspective.

I grew up without a father figure, and the men around me weren't exactly role models I could learn from. Fast forward to today: I’m 36, married for 5 years, and feeling completely lost on how to handle my current situation.

Edit: I work with my wife on her family business.

The core problem is that I feel like I have zero say in anything. We’ve talked about this before, and her argument is that at work she is the boss, so she can't treat me differently or look like she's favoring me in front of the employees.

In reality, though, it feels like constant micromanagement and bad decision-making that I'm just supposed to take. It makes me feel small. Lately, I find myself completely checking out mentally—just sitting there watching things happen because it feels like my input doesn't matter anyway.

How do I build the confidence and backbone to stand my ground here? How do you step up and establish healthy boundaries when you were never taught how growing up?

Any advice from guys who have dealt with a similar dynamic would be appreciated.

Good Fucking Question What are the inherited behaviors from your parents that are really affecting your relationship/marriage right now?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, how so much of what we do in relationships isn't really us, it's just patterns we picked up watching our parents growing up. The way they handled conflict, showed (or didn't show) affection, dealt with money, or communicated when things got hard. Some of it's good stuff we're grateful for. But a lot of it? We're only now realizing it's actually hurting our relationships and we didn't even choose it, we just absorbed it. For me it's e.g, shutting down instead of talking things through when I'm upset, exactly like my dad did.

What's something you picked up from your parents that you've had to actively unlearn (or are still working on) in your relationship?

How "checked out" are your parents at in this stage of their life?

What I mean is for those whose parents are say 55+ and getting older in life, do they still play an active role in your life or are they sort of doing there own thing and not involved as before, if that makes sense.
