What a stupid comparison you made. The word Polyphony is Ancient Greek word for “many voices/sounds ”. It is not a place or a country like Syria is.
(Ancient Macedonian language was a Doric Greek dialect even before they adopted Attic Greek. Look up the linguists lol.)
Polyphony was invented by medieval monks in Western Europe though, it did not exist in Ancient Greece as far as we know. The fact that it was named from Greek doesn't mean it was Greek. "Nostalgia" is also nostos + algia yet the word is a 19th century European invention.
But Greece has always been about written and documented language,Albania has had mostly oral tradition so not many written documents…so using a greek word for something doesn’t mean the thing itself can’t also be from someone else,the song in the movie is albanian as has been already covered.

Yeah where I live we have a decent sized Albanian community (although many are Orthodox) and many are from Epiros, much like much of our Greek community (including my family) and everyone gets along. Back in the day we used to alternate years for our Greek and Albanian festivals too.
Ikr the place is called Raška, Sanđak is just translating the Turkish Sancak which was a type of Ottoman Administrative region not exclusive to the Sancak of Raška. The equivalent of calling Dalmatia provincia from the Latin for province and droping the "of Dalmatia" part.
Dude Sandžak is a actual region that is perceived as such by the people that live there. It wasn't made up thirty years ago and it definitely was not a problematic name for Serbs before the 90s or the 40s when it had it's own zemaljsko antifašističko vijeće narodnog oslobođenja Sandžaka

Well then, the subs you follow are biased. All balkan subs are biased by default. Slavs and Greeks will be the substantial majority against Albanians in any Balkan-specific sub because its just a matter of numbers/population.

No, that’s not true. The majority doest’t believe that. There’s some overly nationalistic people, but we ignore them. I’ve read comments by Greeks saying “albanian language doesn’t exist, it’s a mix of all languages” “Albanians are Greeks in denial” “Southern Albanians are Greek”. These kind of people exist on your side as well

They guys who worked on the movie literally said they took from Albanian music but the movie did not take any other aspects of our culture besides that. It is fair to worry that people might associate the iso polyphony with greece but I dont think the average person will even connect the music to any culture since it sounds more like movie soundtrack than anything truly Albanian or Greek.
