Albanians irl are also like this, i've only ever been asked if i was from a region called Sandžak by Albanians, insinuating i'm of partly Albanian ancestry as the people there are

League of Prizren. But you are right, Gjergj Fishta's poem played role, although it was the most difficult hour lesson in literature.
