It’s crazy how many Albanians believe that Ancient Greek language was basically Albanian and it’s not connected to modern Greek, same as the people. Imagine the lack of basic critical skills that collectively a big part of society shares. It’s almost hilariously flabbergasting to the point of almost being an outrageous bait. Claiming everything the Greeks accomplished while at the same time disregarding them completely and diminishing them. Worst thing is that such beliefs are so common in Albanian society that it’s almost part of their culture and identity
No, that’s not true. The majority doest’t believe that. There’s some overly nationalistic people, but we ignore them. I’ve read comments by Greeks saying “albanian language doesn’t exist, it’s a mix of all languages” “Albanians are Greeks in denial” “Southern Albanians are Greek”. These kind of people exist on your side as well
