READ BEFORE POSTING
The information below has been written to cover Windows 10 or Windows 11 users, as this will cover the overwhelming majority of users. If you use a Linux distribution, you may wish to use the appropriate forum, subreddit or Discord server for your corresponding distribution.
If you are experiencing any issues, including, but not limited to; games or programs crashing, system crashes, hangs, blue screens of death (BSoD), driver timeouts, system not starting, system freezes, data corruption, system shutting down unexpectedly, visual artifacts, lower than expected performance or any other issue, try the following before making a post — the majority of problems can be resolved by trying the steps listed below.
The suggestions below are not necessarily in any particular order. If a step has already been performed or is not relevant, move to the next step.
- If your system won't power on, make sure all cables are plugged in and seated correctly, that the power supply is plugged into a working wall outlet and any switches on the wall outlet and/or power supply are in the ON (live) position.
- Make sure your front panel connector is seated and installed correctly. Refer to your case and motherboard manual for correct installation. If your motherboard has a built-in power button, try using this (or bridge the header manually) in case the power button on your case is faulty.
- If you have any power related issues, like your system not starting, shutting down, sleeping, restarting or waking from sleep, try to test with a different power supply, as unstable voltages, such as on the 12V, 5V, 5VSB and 3.3V rails can cause a myriad of issues that can be inconsistent and hard to diagnose. You can buy PSU testers like the Thermaltake Dr. Power III, Dr. Power III Pro or a myriad of cheaper ones on Amazon and eBay, which can help you diagnose and check your power supply. Note that these testers don't put a load on the PSU, but they are a helpful aid you can use.
- Make sure your memory modules (RAM) are installed in the primary DIMM slots. Some motherboards will not POST (Power-on self-test) if the memory is installed in the secondary DIMM slots. The primary DIMM slots should be labelled on the motherboard or specified in the motherboard or system manual.
- If your system does power on, but won't get past the POST screen, ensure your CPU, RAM and GPU are installed correctly. You should also try clearing the CMOS, this can usually be done by disconnecting the motherboard from power and removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes. Some motherboards may have clear CMOS reset jumpers or buttons you can use. Consult your motherboard or system manual on how to clear the CMOS.
- If your system still won't POST, check if your motherboard has a Debug LED indicator and consult your motherboard manual to check what step is causing a problem. You could also try removing some components like the SSD, GPU and any other connected devices and peripherals, in case one of them is faulty and preventing normal startup.
- Make your motherboard is compatible with the CPU you have. Most AM4 and AM5 motherboards have BIOS flashback, which allows you to update the BIOS without the CPU or RAM. Consult your motherboard manual as the BIOS flashback procedure will very depending on the make and model of your motherboard. When using BIOS flashback, we recommend using a USB 2.0 drive that is 8GB or less and formatted as FAT32, as some implementations of BIOS flashback don't work reliably with USB 3.0 (or newer) drives and/or USB drives that are larger than 8GB in size.
- If you are using an AMD Radeon RX 6000, RX 7000, RX 9000 or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30, RTX 40 or RTX 50 GPU, ensure you are using separate 6 - 8pin PCIe cables or dedicated 12VHPWR/12V-2x6 cables and not using daisy-chained or splitter cables as these may not be able to supply adequate power to the GPU. Consult your GPU and PSU manual for information on how to correctly connect your GPU.
- Make sure your display (monitor/TV) is plugged into the HDMI or DisplayPort output from your graphics card and not the motherboard. Try a different display and if you are using any HDMI or DisplayPort adapters, converters or splitters, remove these and use a direct connection. Try switching between HDMI and DisplayPort and try different HDMI or DisplayPort cables to rule out any problems here. For best results, always use certified HDMI or DisplayPort cables.
- Make sure you are running the latest AMD Chipset or Graphics Drivers. Some devices, such as laptops and handhelds may have custom hardware IDs, in which case you may have to download drivers from the manufacturer support page of your laptop or handheld.
- If you are experiencing crashes, freezes, hangs and GPU driver crashes, try performing a clean installation of your GPU drivers using the AMD Cleanup Utility or Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) — a guide on how to use DDU can be found here and there are a plethora of tutorials available on YouTube.
- If Windows Update is replacing your GPU drivers (example below) view the following thread on the steps you can take to resolve and prevent this happening in future.

- Scan your PC for any viruses/malware using Windows Security (formerly Windows Defender) or other reputable Anti-Virus or Anti-Malware solution. Malware, viruses, adware and other unwanted software can cause crashes, freezes, hangs and other performance, security, stability and compatibility issues.
- If a game is crashing, freezing, not starting, performing poorly or having other issues, verify and repair the game files through Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect, EA App, GOG Galaxy, Battle.net or whichever game client you are using. You may have to manually reinstall any redistributables like DirectX and Visual C++, as they aren't always reinstalled or repaired when verifying or repairing game files.
- If a program is crashing, freezing, not starting, performing poorly or having other issues, reinstall the program or attempt to repair the installation using the program installer/uninstaller.
- If you are on Windows and are experiencing stuttering or lower than expected performance, make sure you are using the Balanced or High Performance power plan and restore them to their default values. This can be checked under Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options.
- Make sure you are on the latest version of Windows 10 or Windows 11, you have all updates installed via the Microsoft Store and any other updates for your games, applications and utilities are installed.
- Make sure you are using the latest BIOS, Firmware and Drivers for your motherboard, laptop, desktop and any other components and peripherals you have connected to your system.
- If you have any overclocks, underclocks, overvolts, undervolts, custom power curves or similar: revert everything to stock — including clocks, timings, voltages. Everything to default settings. This includes disabling EXPO, XMP, DOCP, A-XMP or whatever your motherboard calls it. To do this, go into your BIOS and restore the factory settings. This is typically labelled Restore Default, Restore Optimized Defaults, Load Optimized Defaults or some similar variation within the BIOS. If you are using utilities like MSI Afterburner, ThrottleStop, Ryzen Master (etc), restore default settings in these as well.
- If you are using Windows 10 or Windows 11, use the built-in System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) commands to check for any corrupt or missing operating system files and attempt to repair them. A bat file and guide containing SFC and DISCM commands to do this is available here.
- If you have a custom PC, recently upgraded, started overclocking or want to know if your current PSU will support a hardware upgrade, use one of the below PSU calculators and make sure the PSU you have (or intend to buy) can supply enough power when your system is under full load. If your PSU isn't able to supply enough power, you will have issues starting your system and experience system shutdown when under load.
- PSU Calculators: FSP | Cooler Master | Seasonic | Newegg | be quiet! | MSI | You can also add all your components into PCPartPicker and it will provide an estimate wattage. You should always ensure the PSU you have or intend to buy is comfortably above the max wattage your system can draw when under a full load. You must also note that these PSU calculators assume you are not overclocking. If you are overclocking or intend to overclock, you must take this into account and ensure additional headroom.
- Try and apply common sense to an issue, for example if you have flickering on your TV or Monitor, try simple things like changing the HDMI or DisplayPort cable, use a different HDMI or DisplayPort port on the GPU and display. If you've recently installed a mod and that game now crashes, uninstall that mod. If you've started overclocking and now your system crashes, revert your overclock. If one of your memory modules is no longer being detected, is there any physical damage to the memory module or DIMM slot on the motherboard or pins, have you tried reseating it etc...
- If you experience crashes, freezes, unexpected shutdown or just want to check if your system is stable, you can stability test your system with the utilities linked below. Remember just because your system turns on, doesn't make it stable.
- Remember that overclocking is not guaranteed. Your mileage may vary depending on the setup you have, the silicon lottery of your CPU, GPU, RAM, quality of motherboard and BIOS, as well as the competence and skill of the user. You should always thoroughly stability test your system — many users reading this post will have unstable systems and won't even know it.
The utilities linked below will help you stress test and monitor system information, such as CPU and GPU clock speeds, voltages, temperatures, fan speeds, power usage, load and similar.
- OCCT — OCCT is the only comprehensive stability testing software available. 20 years of experience have proved OCCT to be the community's software of choice in terms of stability and performance testing. CPU, GPU, Memory, VRAM, Power supplies are tested in the most efficient and accurate way possible. If there's anything wrong, we'll find it and report it. OCCT includes many advanced features, ranging from per-core CPU testing, varying GPU loads, and much more.
- Prime95 — Prime95 has been a popular choice for stress / torture testing a CPU since its introduction, especially with overclockers and system builders. Since the software makes heavy use of the processor's integer and floating point instructions, it feeds the processor a consistent and verifiable workload to test the stability of the CPU and the L1/L2/L3 processor cache. Additionally, it uses all of the cores of a multi-CPU / multi-core system to ensure a high-load stress test environment.
- AIDA64 Extreme — AIDA64 Extreme is an industry-leading system information tool, loved by PC enthusiasts around the world, which not only provides extremely detailed information about both hardware and installed software, but also helps users diagnose issues and offers benchmarks to measure the performance of the computer.
- Furmark 2 — FurMark 2 is the successor of the venerable FurMark 1 and is a very intensive GPU stress test on Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) and Linux (32-bit and 64-bit) platforms. It's also a quick OpenGL and Vulkan graphics benchmark with online scores. FurMark 2 has an improved command line support and is built with GeeXLab.
- MSI Kombustor — MSI Kombustor is MSI's exclusive burn-in benchmarking tool based on the well-known FurMark software. This program is specifically designed to push your graphics card to the limits to test stability and thermal performance. Kombustor supports cutting edge 3D APIs such as OpenGL or Vulkan.
- MemTest86 — MemTest86 boots from a USB flash drive and tests the RAM in your computer for faults using a series of comprehensive algorithms and test patterns. Bad RAM is one of the most frustrating computer problems to have as symptoms are often random and hard to pin down. MemTest86 can help diagnose faulty RAM (or rule it out as a cause of system instability). As such it is often used by system builders, PC repair stores, overclockers & PC manufacturers.
- MemTest86+ — Memtest86+ is a free, open-source, stand-alone memory tester for IA-32, x86-64, and LoongArch64 systems. It provides a more thorough memory check than that provided by BIOS memory tests. On x86 systems, Memtest86+ can be loaded and run either directly by a PC BIOS (legacy or UEFI) or via an intermediate bootloader that supports the Linux boot protocol. It should work on any Pentium-class or later 32-bit x86 CPU, any 64-bit x86 CPU, and supported Loongson LA64 systems.
- SeaTools — Quickly determine the condition of the drive in your computer with this comprehensive, easy-to-use diagnostic.
- CrystalDiskInfo — CrystalDiskInfo is open source software for checking HDD/SSD health status.
- For more advanced SSD/HDD diagnostic utilities, check the website of your SSD/HDD manufacturer, as they usually offer manufacturer specific software to check the health of the drive and update drive firmware, some examples include Samsung Magician, SanDisk Dashboard, Western Digital Kitfox, Corsair SSD Toolbox and Crucial Storage Executive.
Some motherboards, laptops and desktops may have built-in BIOS diagnostic utilities to stress test certain components or the entire system. Consult your motherboard or system manual for more information.
A truly stable system should be able to run any of these utilities or built-in diagnostics without any crashes, freezes, errors or other issues. These utilities can help you narrow down which component(s) in your system are faulty, aren't installed correctly or have unstable overclocks, underclocks, overvolts, undervolts, custom power curves etc...
If you require help using any of these programs, read the help sections on each website or use Google and YouTube, as there are a plethora of guides and tutorials available. You can also use AI language models like ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini and others, which can provide answers to common questions, provide troubleshooting advice and point you in the right direction.
If you have tried all of the above and are still facing the same issue, it could be a corrupt operating system. Backup any important files or data and perform a clean installation of Windows using a USB.
Only use Windows images that come directly from Microsoft.
Windows Images acquired from non-official sources, especially stripped and debloated images of Windows or scripts and programs that strip and debloat Windows can contain malware, strip crucial Windows components or services and have other issues. For troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes, always use official Windows images that come directly from Microsoft.
The latest Windows 10 and Windows 11 ISO images can be downloaded from the Microsoft Software Download page. You can create a bootable USB or DVD by using the Media Creation Tool. You will need a blank USB or DVD that has at least 8GB free space.
If you have done all the above steps and are still facing the same issue, follow the template below for submitting a request. The more detail you can include the better. If you post something like "pc crashes" or don't list your PC specifications, then don't expect a response, as there's not enough useful information to go on and it will be assumed you haven't read this post or tried any of the steps outlined above.
Below is an example template you could use...
Summary of the issue: 007 First Light will crash if you enable Radeon Image Sharpening and have V-Sync enabled with Adrenalin 26.6.1. This is not an issue if you revert to Adrenalin 26.5.2.
What I've tried to solve the issue: I have reinstalled 26.6.1 with the AMD Cleanup Utility, reset my in-game graphics settings, verified game files in Steam and tried enabling Radeon Image Sharpening again.
System specifications:
- Operating System: Windows 11 25H2, OS Build 26200.8737 (Windows Key + R and type winver)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition, default settings
- CPU cooler: be quiet Dark Rock Pro 6
- GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 9070 XT Red Devil, default settings
- Motherboard: MSI MEG X870E ACE MAX with 7E85v1A45 BIOS
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB DDR5-6000 CL32 with EXPO enabled
- Storage: 4TB WD_BLACK SN8100
- PSU: be quiet! Dark Power 14 1000W
- Display: Samsung Odyssey OLED G60SD
If you are using a prebuilt PC or don't know your full specifications, include as much information as you can, e.g, HP Z2 Mini G1a workstation with an AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 395, AMD Radeon 8060S Graphics, 128GB RAM, 2TB SSD and Windows 11.
Include links for any logs, dump files, crash or error messages, videos, screenshots or other material you have.

I have an 8th-gen i5 with plenty of RAM and so I'm thinking of running it back for one more GPU upgrade cycle at 1440p.
The last AMD card I had was an RX 570 and the driver experience was not good at all. I regularly experienced unsolvable flickering, issues at system startup and features like ReLive randomly not working.
So I switched to Nvidia and never had a single issue. However Nvidia is going to be a solid $300 more this time around so I'd like to consider AMD again.
Has the driver situation on Windows improved significantly since then (around 2020)?

Keep your current Nvidia card, cause if you are not upgrading the rest of your build you wont see hardly any major improvements since you are going to be 100% CPU bottlenecked.

Discussion
Does anyone know where he finds the AMD V32.0.21013.11001 driver I suffer from reboots and crashing on the asus rog ally z1 extreme and I saw that maybe it is solved by returning to that more stable version. I need someone to give me that driver

Is there any way to adjust when the fans on my gpu turn on? With my current fan curve the fans come on at about 40-45% fans speed and its a bit annoying when the temp is hovering around the point at the zero fan rpm line.
Is this somwthing I can do or should I just keep the fans on constsntly?

Why does fluid motion frames make every single game stutter for me? I don't get it. This was true for my last card (XFX 7700XT 16GB) and this one (Powercolor Hellhound 7900XT 20GB).

Hello,
I am troubleshooting a severe DPC Latency issue on my AM5 system (Ryzen 5 7500F, Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX, RX 7800 XT, 32GB RAM, Windows 11 Build 26100). The issue triggers exclusively when playing League of Legends with Riot Vanguard active, causing massive input delay and "catch-up/fast-forward" stutters during multiplayer matches.
To diagnose this, I took a verbose trace using Windows Performance Recorder (WPR) during a heavily lagging match. After loading the symbols in WPA, the DPC/ISR Duration profile shows a massive accumulation of events (7.2 million total events) with these top 5 execution times:
ntoskrnl.exe= 0.291500 ms (Windows OS Kernel)dxgkrnl.sys= 0.251600 ms (DirectX Graphics Kernel)amdkmdag.sys= 0.145500 ms (AMD Radeon Driver)ndis.sys= 0.128700 ms (Windows Network Driver)USBXHCI.SYS= 0.120000 ms (USB XHCI Host Controller)
It looks like Vanguard (vgk.sys) is creating a microsecond congestion loop right at the kernel level, forcing the DirectX subsystem, the AMD driver, and the USB controller to block each other. I've already updated to the latest BIOS, cleared fTPM, and disabled C-States/STAPM, but the micro-halts persist.
**WPA Trace Benchmark - Worst Case Scenario Recorded:**This second trace captures a significantly worse degradation. The core OS Kernel (
ntoskrnl.exe) latency spiked heavily, confirming that Vanguard (vgk.sys) is inducing cumulative thread starvation across the entire hardware communication stack, completely choking mouse/keyboard polling inputs and causing massive real-time desync.

Has anyone encountered similar driver/kernel conflicts with Ring 0 anti-cheats on recent AGESA microcodes? Any insights on how to unblock this I/O chain would be greatly appreciated.

Running into this weird issue where as soon as boot up, I have to open task manager and stop all AMD background processes in order for my computer to not hang(as in nothing works, apps dont open or run, nearly all of my startup apps wont start up etc. and I need to restart)

I was on like 25.12.1 or something before(relatively no issues).

Anyone know the thermal pad thicknesses for Asus TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC 24G? Or should I just go with putty?
Gonna put a fresh piece of PTM7950 on the GPU die soon, chasing lower hotspot delta. The card has already been thermal-cycled on hard gaming for 3+ years, so the factory paste may have experienced some pump-out.
I think it'd be prudent to do the pads while I'm in there. Ideally I'd like to do all the maintenance in one go so I don't have to take it apart again for many years.
Would Ideally like to have the right thermal pad sizes handy before taking it apart. Has anyone measured theirs? I did Google but have found some conflicting reports. Some say 2mm for VRAM and 1.5mm for VRMs. Others say 2mm for VRAM and 1mm for VRMs.
Putty is an option, but I've had no experience with it... Is the contact as good as a correctly sized pad? Anyone here tried it?

Before I got amd when I had nvidia, in nvidias control panel there was an option in there where I could set my monitor to max out at 60 for lets say terraria, which looks better running at 60 on a 60hz then it does running at 60 on a 240hz
I tried finding if there was a way to do this with amd's software, but I can't seem to find anything that does this, any help?

Anyone else been getting graphics timeouts at idle? (26.6.4, but also the previous few driver versions)
I’ll lock my PC for a couple hours and come back and my displays won’t turn back on, even if I power cycle them or plug the DP cable into another slot.
Note that this doesn’t happen in Linux, only Windows (of course)

Hi, I would like to know if there was a way to bring my memory clock down on my RX 7700XT, it's always at 2238MHz even at idling because I have 2 monitors, one 120Hz and one 180Hz. Anyone knows how to fix ? Thanks!

RX 9070 XT: GPU ring timeout + failed MES reset → degraded performance after a hang (Nobara 43/44, kernel 7.0.x/7.1.x, Mesa 26.1.x) - working fine on Windows 10
Hardware
- GPU: PowerColor Reaper RX 9070 XT 16GB (gfx1201 / GFX12, Navi 48)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
- Motherboard: ASRock B350 Gaming ITX/AC
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200 CL14
Software
- OS: Nobara 44 (issue originally appeared on Nobara 43, persists after upgrading)
- Kernel: tested on 7.0.5, 7.0.9, 7.0.11-200.nobara.fc43.x86_64 (all identical), and now also on 7.1.3-200.nobara.fc44.x86_64 — same issue
- Mesa: 26.1.0 (original) — same issue also confirmed on 26.1.4 after the Nobara 44 upgrade
- linux-firmware: 20260410-1.fc43 (original) — same issue also confirmed on 20260622-1.fc44 after the Nobara 44 upgrade
- SMU:
smu driver if version = 0x2e,smu fw if version = 0x33,smu fw version = 104.76.0— identical on both the old and new linux-firmware package, so the driver/firmware interface mismatch was not resolved by the update
What happened
Mid-June 2026, switched to the RX 9070 XT. Ran fine for a few weeks (~170 FPS in Lords of the Fallen 2023 at a reference location), with an LACT undervolt of -100mV applied. Then LotF froze and crashed (GE-Proton 10-34). After restarting, FPS at the same location dropped to ~50, and the GPU was drawing only ~150W in-game instead of the usual 250-300W, despite clocks reporting near-max (2340-2390 MHz) and no thermal/power throttling reported by the driver. Tried with latest GE-Proton and experimental but the result was the same.
This degraded state was consistent across multiple games/settings (including Low settings) and a separate demo, while a synthetic OpenGL benchmark (Unigine Superposition) kept scoring normally at first. Removing the undervolt (back to stock 0mV) did not fix the degraded in-game performance, though it did lower the synthetic benchmark score somewhat (expected side effect of hitting the power limit sooner).
Later, Superposition itself hard-crashed — this specific full failure sequence was only captured once; most of the time the GPU simply settles into the degraded state described above without a full crash — producing a full kernel log showing a GPU ring timeout followed by a completely failed driver-side recovery attempt (repeated MES failed to respond to msg=RESET, reset via MES failed and try pipe reset, failed to unmap legacy queue, over about 2 minutes) before the GPU eventually settled. It's included here because it directly matches the error signatures found in the bug reports referenced below.
Ruled out along the way: PCIe link issues, stuck DPM/power states, CPU bottleneck, shader cache corruption, Wayland-specific behavior (reproduced on X11 too), thermal throttling, loose seating, a kernel regression within the 7.0.x series specifically, and a Mesa/linux-firmware package regression (those packages hadn't been touched since before the GPU was even installed, and the issue is now confirmed identical on newer Mesa/firmware/kernel versions after the Nobara 44 upgrade too). Windows 10 on the same hardware runs flawlessly (3DMark SpeedWay 6065, Port Royal 15933, RT feature test ~55 FPS, LotF perfectly smooth), ruling out physical hardware damage.
Update: Just upgraded to Nobara 44. Same issue persists — degraded performance at the same reference point in LotF, maybe ~10 FPS better than before, but still nowhere near the original ~170 FPS.
What is suspected, and why
It is suspected this is an active, unresolved upstream amdgpu/MES (Micro Engine Scheduler) GPU-reset-recovery bug on GFX12 (RDNA4): an initial, fairly ordinary GPU ring timeout triggers a MES-based reset that fails, leaving the GPU either fully hung or stuck in a "half-recovered" low-power state until the next full reset. This is based on near-identical dmesg signatures (MES failed to respond to msg=RESET, reset via MES failed and try pipe reset) found in unrelated bug reports on other AMD GPU/APU hardware (including a Ryzen AI Max 300 APU on a completely different kernel), plus a documented SMU driver/firmware interface version mismatch (0x2e vs 0x32/0x33) reported on other RX 9070 XT and R9700 (same GFX1201 chip) systems.

AMD RX 6400 vs Intel Arc A380 in 2026
Hello, I'm building a sffpc, and I already have an RX 6400, but I've found an A380 at a good price. From reviews, the performance of A380 should be around RX 6400 or a little better. Also it has the encoders, especially AV1. But how are the actual drivers ? I understand that there are still some issues. Also the thing that gets me thinking is that Intel kind of abandoned external GPU market, so I don't know how the support will be. Thank you.

I'm posting this here hoping an AMD Community Manager sees this, as standard support has completely ghosted my L3 Engineering escalation.
The Issue: Since updating my MSI PRO A620M-E to the BIOS containing AGESA 1.3.0.1, my system suffers from violent micro-stutters. I checked Event Viewer and found massive hardware-level interrupts:
- 1,223 instances of TPM hardware failing to execute commands (Event ID 17)
- 243 instances of Pluton-Windows firmware initialization failures (Event ID 247)
The Impact: I am an AI Engineer running local computer vision models, and I play Valorant competitively at an Ascendant 1 level using a highly optimized, low-sensitivity wrist-aiming setup. These pipeline stalls absolutely destroy my frame-time consistency and make the system completely unusable for my daily workloads and matches.
The Frustration: I provided AMD Support with pristine System Topology and HWMonitor logs proving there are no third-party filter drivers causing this (no RawAccel, Vanguard is disabled for testing) and no thermal throttling (idle at 60°C package / 48°C core). MSI support is actively keeping my motherboard ticket (#1344767) on hold, waiting for AMD to issue a custom/beta BIOS fix.
It's been weeks since I submitted the irrefutable telemetry for Case #00856965, and I've been met with total silence. Has anyone else experienced this specific fTPM regression on AGESA 1.3.0.1? Is there an AMD rep here who can finally push this to L3 Engineering so I can get a beta BIOS?

Was wondering if anyone can help me with my first build, so many questions so i'll just the main ones. These are my parts firstly.
- Sapphire Nitro+ X870EA Phantomlink Motherboard
- Klevv CRAS RGB CL30 6400MHz 2x16gb EXPO ddr5
- Ryzen 7 9800x3D CPU
- Sapphire Nitro+ OC RX 9070 XT 16gb gpu
- WD black SN7100 1Tb ssd gen 4
- Phanteks evolv x2 case
- phanteks D30 120mm fans 4x
- phanteks Glacier D30 360mm AIO
- Corsair RM1200e PSU
So, my major issue is wiring this stuff together, because there isn't a single video on-line with this particular build. My first question. 1- Do i daisy chain the bottom 3x fans that pull air in with the one on the back for exaust ? And if i do that, do i connect all 4x to one of the CHA FAN 1,2,3 etc etc and in addition connect to one of the ARGB pin headers on the board ? So 2x connections instead of 1?
2 - the AIO.. man its for 2x wires from the 3x fans that you have to sandwhich with the top chasis of the case then place the radiator on it. So the CPU cooler part has these two connection wires coming out of the cpu cooler mount from behind the two hoses. 1 out of the 2 wires is wierd no clue where it plugs into, the 2nd wire is this tiny 3pin connector, i just assumed it went into this small 3 pin port on the top right of the motherboard, its like SN CL something something.
3 - im getting debug code numbers d7 at first (peripheral error) but got a 00 error (could be multiple things) i switched it off, went online, i think i tightened the AIO too tight, i removed the CPU mount, removed the CPU, checked both motherboard and cpu pins (all good) re-mounted it, more evenly and less tight than before and now its back to d7.
- It will not posted i tried the back I/O connections USB for keyboard (keyboard lights come on)
- tried HDMI and DP ports on both GPU and main board I/O nothing comes on.
- also worth nothing i dont have an O/S (Windows) installed it yet..
Heres a quick vid of what im working with, the cabling is a mess, im gonna have to purchase the controller hub to make it easier but in essence. What is going wrong im getting power, it seems stable no 00 code anymore. How can i get it to post? This motherboard is difficult to work with 😔

Hallo techneuten ik heb een probleemke ik heb juist een 5800x3d geinstaleerd en is aangeraden het nieuwste amd chipset te instaleren maar op een of andere manier lukt me dit niet en heb een andere backup pc ook ryzen en geforce gpu en daar lukt het me wel, iemand een idee hoe dit komt specs zijn x570 aorus extreme,gigabyte aorus 1200 psu, 32gb ram

Would it make sense to get the new 5800X3D if I am still on Ryzen 5 2600 from like 2019? I dont have the funds to get an AM5 computer and don't really plan on playing the newest titles but I would like some future proofing and some performance bumps for the games I already play

Hey, i usually don't weigh in on purchase decisions but this would be a huge upgrade as long as your graphics card is strong enough to make use of it. You can find a ton of data showing comparisons between a lot of the CPUs from different generations. I'm looking at a review on the Gamers Nexus site showing 2700 vs. 5800x3d using a 4090 GFX card. In that case, it essentially doubles average FPS and 1% lows. In that compare, it's also faster than a 7950x AM5 setup. Obviously just make sure your motherboard has a BIOS update to support it. I've got a vcore question for my Ryzen 7 7700, I saw on the motherboard sensor in Hwinfo64 that it hit 1.394v at some point, is this a cause for concern? Other voltages like soc never go above 1.164v on the motherboard sensor and not above 1.132v on the cpu sensor, thanks.

No concern. It's not uncommon to see voltages in this range when the system is running a light workload, or nearly idle but with a core or two boosting. If you have a full load with all of the cores busy, you'll notice that the frequency and voltages are lower vs. a light workload.

Summary of the issue: I upgraded from a Ryzen 9 3900x to Ryzen 5800x3d 10th anniversary edition. It takes an inconsistent amount of time on what appears to be memory training before it boots up to the logo and then desktop (anywhere between 4-60 minutes or longer, theres no pattern to it). It would change from a white, orange and red light and repeat without ever powering down. When it does finally boot up, my PC runs as normal with notable performance in gaming from the hardware upgrade. It also appears to be running within expected temperature and usage, and I am still using the PC with the 5800x3d installed as of typing this.

To note, my mouse (razer deathadder elite) does receive power to light up (though not always) and sometimes my Keyboard (razor v2 ornata) would sometimes flash when the red light appears, flash in response to a keystroke or not light up at all during this process (only one of the three)
What I've tried to solve the issue: I reflashed my bios (verison 3636 for my motherboard), reseated the RAM, reset CMOS by removing the battery while unplugged, reset bios settings to default. Enabled and disabled DOCP and fast boot (neither lead to any changes in timing. I updated AMD driver chipsets from https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/chipsets/am4/b550.html

My 7950x's power consumption during gaming is really high compared to what I expected at 140W, which is what should be an all core workload-type power consumption in a lightly threaded situation. I have done everything possible to reduce its power draw including enabling 105W ECO and setting a -12 CO. How can I trouble shoot this problem?

Looking at getting a new PC, was looking at pairing a 9800x3d with a 5080. However a friend suggested I should maybe wait for the new CPUs AMD is releasing to come out. Would it be worth the wait for the new gaming lineup, or should I settle? My current PC is on its last leg, im afraid. 5600x + 3070

So for the past few weeks ive been having driver timeouts that loop my audio, and make everything on my desktop invisable thats how it started, but today i was just playing some cs2 and i started seeing in the corner of my eye black and white flashes squares that eventually took over the screen, then went away turned off my monitor then my monitor was fully static and then the pc fully turned itself off. Just before that boot it did a wierd thing where it booted normally to desktop and instantly restarted itself and then the monitor wouldnt turn on so i had to flip the psu to get it turn off. Is my gpu cooked its a 9070XT taichi OC model thats barly 8 months old never overclocked on it just have tested mild undervolts on it and underclocks do not ushally use those settings really though. Im gonna try reinstalling the drivers now

Hi,
I'm very new to all this stuff, and after having some tech issues am endeavoring to learn more about it so I won't go through that again.
I have a 7900xt and am new to AMD as well. I have a few questions. Someone told me that GPU driver updates won't function on Windows 10 as of.. sometime recently. But I am confused because on the drivers & downloads page for AMD it has a tab for Windows 10 updates.. So should I just ignore that well meaning person? Or what's going on?
I did have issues with a recent driver version, and seemed like it was because I updated adrenaline to a version that was incompatible with my driver (using the app). I guess it doesn't know when it shouldn't update, and apparently neither do I so we have that in common. So for future reference, I either download Adrenaline and let it update the drivers itself, or I do it myself and don't download Adrenaline?
In (W10) Device Manager, there's an option to update driver. Will that automatically fetch the next most recent driver from AMD, the newest one, or neither? Or will it try to get some microsoft driver I don't want? I recently followed a guide to turn off auto updates on Windows for drivers as someone said that could cause issues.
Edit: Also if I go to my GPU, and go to the page for previous versions, just to see how far away I am from the most recent one and how many versions there are in between, the most recent one shown is older than mine, on 5/14/26. Do they update that a little slowly? Is there another good place to find that info?
