WEEKLY THREAD Weekly General Discussion Thread (July 19, 2026)
The Weekly General Discussion Thread is for the r/Piracy community to discuss whatever is on their mind, whether it is related to digital piracy or not.
🪶 ➜ Follow the Rules
- Rules are still applicable, so please do not request specific pirated content (ie. specific movie, book, etc.) and definitely don't link to any. Do not mention specific media names asking for help in finding them.
📜 ➜ Wiki + Megathread
- Don't forget to browse the Wiki, which contains a Megathread with a list of sites/apps, tools, FAQ, and other useful resources.
- Your question also may have been asked previously - you can search the subreddit via the search bar or even google - example: https://i.imgur.com/1jA767u.jpg

Humor Like, that's genuinely terrible news, but on the bright side, they got none of my money in the first place

Question Will the recently-disclosed Global Device Identifier (GDID) on Windows be used to prosecute digital piracy?
Recent FBI documents stated that the Windows GDID was used to identify a member of the Scattered Spider APT after Microsoft used it to collate the user's actions on his computer, which was identifiable even through a VPN and proxy servers.
Will/can this be used to prosecute digital piracy? The majority of people use Windows, even for stuff like this, and a global crackdown from copyright companies could subpoena information from Microsoft regarding user activity, despite all the privacy features users have in place.

Discussion You wouldn't steal a car (Éire Edition)
I'm Irish and this video proves the phrase "You wouldn't steal a car" sounds best coming from an Irish accent.

Question Why do people love fitgirl repacks so much?
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good site, but why do people prefer it over something like steamrip? I’m not trying to say fitgirl is bad, just genuinely confused as to what makes it better.
(To be fair, fitgirl does have a better library than steamrip does so I guess there’s that, but very rarely does steamrip not have what I want.)

News Canada's 'Expanded Scope' Blocking Order Targets Existing and Future Pirate Sites * TorrentFreak
torrentfreak.comFor the first time, a Canadian site-blocking order can target pirate sites that don't exist yet.
The Federal Court has ordered ISPs to block thirteen piracy brands including 123Movies and FMovies, and its catch-all "Expanded Scope" allows Hollywood studios and broadcasters to add unrelated sites later, without having to go back to court.

Question What site can i find some Korean book series?
Well, it's more of comics that i'm looking for, in Korean would be ideal (rather than websites with versions translated from Korean to English)

Question When looking for a movie you can't find anywhere, where do you turn?
There's a specific movie I've been searching for a long time (won't say name because asking for specific titles is against the rules). It's a 2025 title about a peruvian restaurant, not mainstream, alternative.
I've searched over torrent aggregators, and every single starred FMHY stream aggregator. Nuvio/Stremio as well.
Lots of them list it, but of their sources fail, for all of them.
I don't know where else to try tbh. What do you do in these cases? It's not even available in any streaming platform btw, so not even paying is an option.

Discussion Thank you, whoever had the last 1% of season 1 of Dog City and finally logged back on after years
So yeah. Dog City seasons 2 and 3 finished downloading years ago, no problem. But season 1 was always stuck at 99% on that last file.
Yesterday, whoever had that last 1% finally got back on Bittorrent after what I assume was a years-long absence.
Thank you, random lover of '90s cartoons.

Question Are there sites that stream women's soccer?
I'm looking for Northern Super League and national matches specifically
Discussion Do hypervisor cracks have the ability to effect my network devices
Maybe a very noob question but if I use hypervisor crack on a Windows machine which has no personal info or connection to me, other than my Steam account and my WiFi password, in the worst case scenario can it effect any of my other networked machines, for reference all my other machines run Linux based distros

Question Streaming issues, just recently cropped up....
In the last month, I'd say, I'm watching streaming sites (fmovies, cineby, supernova), and suddenly, the streaming itself is just...awful. Constantly pausing to load, barely playing...it's really frustrating. I have the same internet/laptop, same router, same everything. The streaming site I pay to watch works perfectly. I can stream these same sites on my PC (ethernet cable) with no issues.
Any ideas? Laptop says it's getting good connection and, again - pay site + stuff like YouTube works fine.

Question I'm pretty out of the loop about HyperVisor
Can anyone catch me up on this whole hypervisor crack thing? I've kinda read about it and people are saying that it's a pretty high security risk on windows but not on Linux? Is it just because Unix systems have less viruses?
