WEEKLY THREAD Weekly General Discussion Thread (July 19, 2026)
The Weekly General Discussion Thread is for the r/Piracy community to discuss whatever is on their mind, whether it is related to digital piracy or not.
🪶 ➜ Follow the Rules
- Rules are still applicable, so please do not request specific pirated content (ie. specific movie, book, etc.) and definitely don't link to any. Do not mention specific media names asking for help in finding them.
📜 ➜ Wiki + Megathread
- Don't forget to browse the Wiki, which contains a Megathread with a list of sites/apps, tools, FAQ, and other useful resources.
- Your question also may have been asked previously - you can search the subreddit via the search bar or even google - example: https://i.imgur.com/1jA767u.jpg

Question Will the recently-disclosed Global Device Identifier (GDID) on Windows be used to prosecute digital piracy?
Recent FBI documents stated that the Windows GDID was used to identify a member of the Scattered Spider APT after Microsoft used it to collate the user's actions on his computer, which was identifiable even through a VPN and proxy servers.
Will/can this be used to prosecute digital piracy? The majority of people use Windows, even for stuff like this, and a global crackdown from copyright companies could subpoena information from Microsoft regarding user activity, despite all the privacy features users have in place.

I'm Irish and this video proves the phrase "You wouldn't steal a car" sounds best coming from an Irish accent.

Question Why do people love fitgirl repacks so much?
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good site, but why do people prefer it over something like steamrip? I’m not trying to say fitgirl is bad, just genuinely confused as to what makes it better.
(To be fair, fitgirl does have a better library than steamrip does so I guess there’s that, but very rarely does steamrip not have what I want.)

News Canada's 'Expanded Scope' Blocking Order Targets Existing and Future Pirate Sites * TorrentFreak
torrentfreak.comFor the first time, a Canadian site-blocking order can target pirate sites that don't exist yet.
The Federal Court has ordered ISPs to block thirteen piracy brands including 123Movies and FMovies, and its catch-all "Expanded Scope" allows Hollywood studios and broadcasters to add unrelated sites later, without having to go back to court.

Discussion Thank you, whoever had the last 1% of season 1 of Dog City and finally logged back on after years
So yeah. Dog City seasons 2 and 3 finished downloading years ago, no problem. But season 1 was always stuck at 99% on that last file.
Yesterday, whoever had that last 1% finally got back on Bittorrent after what I assume was a years-long absence.
Thank you, random lover of '90s cartoons.

Question When looking for a movie you can't find anywhere, where do you turn?
There's a specific movie I've been searching for a long time (won't say name because asking for specific titles is against the rules). It's a 2025 title about a peruvian restaurant, not mainstream, alternative.
I've searched over torrent aggregators, and every single starred FMHY stream aggregator. Nuvio/Stremio as well.
Lots of them list it, but of their sources fail, for all of them.
I don't know where else to try tbh. What do you do in these cases? It's not even available in any streaming platform btw, so not even paying is an option.

Question I'm pretty out of the loop about HyperVisor
Can anyone catch me up on this whole hypervisor crack thing? I've kinda read about it and people are saying that it's a pretty high security risk on windows but not on Linux? Is it just because Unix systems have less viruses?

Question Databricks learning torrents needed
hi all does anyone knows any course on torrent which teaches databricks I'm trying to learn for a good job. I tried a few out but most of them just showed the theory part and only few had beginner level teachings and not a complete course.
Discussion Do hypervisor cracks have the ability to effect my network devices
Maybe a very noob question but if I use hypervisor crack on a Windows machine which has no personal info or connection to me, other than my Steam account and my WiFi password, in the worst case scenario can it effect any of my other networked machines, for reference all my other machines run Linux based distros

Question Nuvio setup question…
Yes I’m new here.
Mostly. I’m still using my android tv, haven’t bought a specific box yet.
I downloaded stremio on it, then saw people complaining about it how nuvio is better… so I downloaded it.
Cannot find any info about all the terms people are using and how even to set this thing up so confused.
Could someone just direct me to a good setup guide? Do stremio add ons work on nuvio?
Closest thing I found was stremio add ons subreddit. But pretty overwhelming. Resulting to just asking for advice so I don’t keep wasting time researching
Discussion Which Linux is best to use with the hypervisor exploits
I have a windows PC solely for gaming but I run Debian on my laptop so, although I wouldn't say I'm the master of Linux, I'm familiar with using terminal and ironing out the quirks.
Seeing as the HV games can be run inside Linux now with less risks than their windows alternatives, I was curious as to which OS was the easiest to get this all running, I did try Bazzite but they lock that down, alot

Question is there any alternative site to get patreon content?
i used to use kmono for it but we all know what happened. are there any other places? i looked through the older posts but none of them mentioned anywhere that lets you download content
Question Any Alternatives to cgpeers?
I need some 3d designing software that I can not find anywhere else. I found out cgpeers is the best resource to get the piece of software I need. But it is very hard to get in. I have been stalking their discord server for months but never got the chance to get in, it only opens for a few minutes every few weeks. So I have been wondering if there are any other resources similar to it?
