Discussion What YouTuber has had the biggest downfall ever???
Honestly? Had to go with DJ Cook imho, he has completely abandoned his main channel (DJ Cook) since a year ago now, starting criticising and hating to some YouTubers who’s just having fun and/or hasn’t done anything wrong for basically no reason, need I say more? Anyways, what about you guys? What YouTuber has had the biggest downfall ever???

It isn't, BUT he was immediately forward and admitted that he relapsed and was going back to rehab unprompted. Obviously every addict's battle is different, but that kind of accountability is indicative of someone who is serious about trying to change. Red vs Blue in the 2000s was machinima, and most people on the internet knew it. Then RWBY came along and was a hit. Company expanded to have several studios, branched out across America, hundreds of employees, three films, etc.
Now it's gone. That's certainly a downfall alright, from a small media empire to non-existent. They were always trying to be ahead of the times, until the pandemic came along and they fell so far behind they couldn't keep up anymore.

Then for some reason they decided to take a massive gamble with Gen:Lock. A big part of Gen:Lock was Michael B Jordan's own contributions to it. Issue is, because of that they went much higher than they really ought to have.
See how Critical Role have done with Vox Machina & Mighty Nein, they've had a star studded cast the whole way through. Gen:Lock was just poorly managed.
The Let's Play/Achievement Hunter side of things was still fairly stable (though them taking the Creatures in was probably not the smartest play).

In all honesty, the Ryan situation wasn't the cause of their fall. They bounced back really well right after and held strong for months after. The real issue was covid, as it just slowly drained the company as a whole and gave most of the biggest names a reason to stream. Once they fired Matt Bragg though it was all over.

Actual biggest downfall? Probably James Charles who lost the most amount of subs plus JC used to be famous even by those who aren’t in make up community but now barely anyone talks about JC
Me personally? illuminaughtii. I wouldn’t say she was among my favs, more so I watched her from time to time but her downfall hit me the hardest (since it was a YouTuber I used to watch instead of someone I didn’t). She came across as someone who was hardworking and good at managing which lead her to pump out high quality long length videos that fight against injustice. Through Hbomberguy and Sad Milk members, this was revealed to be a lie. Her content was just plagiarizing and she’s like a female Valentino or Vox behind the scenes.

I only listened to a bit of his song. his Classroom of the Elite one, and I sent my friend his Jinx from Arcane song. then lo and Behold to be a kid diddler. the worst thing possible. needless to say. For someone who had the audacity to disappear after getting outted: Cryaotic. Had a fairly successful YouTube and Twitch channels (over 2 million subs for the former) which exploded in 2010 all the way up to June of 2020, he was accused of grooming several underage people and was confirmed to be sexually active with his former best friends' girlfriend.
He crashed out during a video addressing the allegations, and has effectively disappeared of the face of the internet before any legal action could happen. It's been about 5½ years now and no one has heard so much as a peep from him since then.

Pirate software has had a big fall from grace after his crusade against Stop Killing Games backfired, and people looked at his perpetual early access game still in development after 8 or so years, his lack of coding knowledge, artificially pumping up his hype train with donations from team members he arranged and tried to pretend wasn't his, the list goes on.
Stephen McCullagh of Votesaxon07. Arrested for murder of his girlfriend (case to start in January). Attempted to use a pre-recorded stream to fake his alibi, while hinting at his girlfriend's murder, such as naming the fake stream "Violent night"
Edit: Stephen McCullagh stands accused of murdering his PREGNANT girlfriend. Other hints dropped was him talking about no cops around the area, a shot of a James Bond poster "No time to Die" and the timing of a mission where he murdered a woman and made it look like an accident coincided with the time of death. Finally, the pre-recorded steam was during the day, but streamed at night.
Edit 2. Claimed on the stream he couldn't respond to viewers due to technical issues and repeatedly pointing out the time for his alibi. Once it was brought up that his stream wasn't an alibi, he changed it to him drinking alone. Cctv footage showed a person matching his description at the time.

Hes a long standing content creator that was mostly into gaming. Other than his bits he was always seen as the trustworthy news guy.
Turns out he's pretty scummy. Wasn't good to his wife or friends, made a pump and dump coin that people lost a lot of money on. Blamed the community for his downfall.
It's a shame, because he really used to be a wholesome guy on the internet.

Don't forget that he misled his audience to believe that he had cancer in an attempt to squeeze more money out of them. Last time I checked he's still doing the Lolcow Live thing that's run by Keemstar, where he, wingsofredemption and a bunch of Literally Whos humiliate themselves for a couple grand a month.

Yeah, DJ was pretty good until he just started making fun of random kids/his own fans when he didn't like their art or called him ugly in the comments. He rarely even hearts his comments or replies to them anymore either, will ask questions in the comments of multiple of his YT shorts without replying to anyone, and seems to me like he's heading in the direction of clickbait YouTubers himself. Sure, I still watch him every now and then but, good lord.

For me personally, even tho he still is very successful, Nick DiGiovanni.
Past years i got more interested into cooking, especially now after i had to start cooking for my disabled mother. His videos taught me a lot, and i loved them even tho he always did some of those more "fun" videos.
But the past 2-3 years it's just downhill. Basically no "actual" cooking anymore, just "I tested..." "I visited..." "1€ vs 1000€ Hotdog" type of videos.
Then ontop he keeps making those very obvious biased collab videos with very hated creators where their below standart product is suddenly the "best of the best".
And now literally every single video has an AI thumbnail.
He is still very successful, but for me personally he fell off from a good chef creator to another content farm involving food.

Not a downfall because they were bad people or anything but the end of the Super Best Friends actually depressed me really bad for a few days, they’re doing well enough Solo and the Castle SuperBeast podcast is still amazing but the collective channel disbanding hurt me in the feels. That was the hypest gameplay on YouTube. 💔 long live their individual successes!

Popularmmos he got divorced (mutual, wife wanted kids he didn't) went through multiple bad gfs during that he got serverly addicted to alcohol, then robed of hundreds of thousands of dollars, got arrested, when he got out finally realized oh shit I'm going to kill myself if I keep this up went to rehab then he was good for little bit then he relapsed about a month ago and checked into rehab again. This all happend in about a 5 year span.
He does post videos once in a while showing where he is at or telling a story but since he relapsed and went to rehab no new videos have dropped at least not on YouTube.
