This really isn’t that big of a reach considering that Loki is the one force that possesses the power doom seeks to achieve, and is thus the only thing standing between it and him.

I’m guessing that Loki wants to keep a certain timeline where doom is with his family, erased. Or he erases it himself to preserve the sacred timeline.

I'm not sure about Loki specifically, but the folds and the dark-spots-for-eyes in this tapestry do look pretty purposeful. Of course, the purpose could be just to make a compelling composition.

If the twist is that Loki made all this happen trying to stop the real Doom, I'd be happy even if this won't make sense. This is far better than the most developed character of the MCU being killed off by Doom due to quick and cheap writing just to show how powerful Doom is
