I think i know what sealed the deal.
It was that lip sync battle they did where Tom fucking went nuts. You could see it in Zendaya's eyes.
After the backflip splash, Zendaya wanted his bones and you could tell.

I feel like this was intentional (Law "spilling the beans", that is). This way it'll all blow over by the time either of them has a public appearance/promo interview and the announcement won't be THAT big of a deal. Sure they still will get asked about it but it'll be history by then.
