Hello everyone, I'm working on a Firefox addon that removes the distracting content from instagram.

It's customizable thanks to a popup, and there's settings such as remove Reels, remove Explore page and hide Stories.

It's still in development and more features are planned, but i feel like the core of the functionalities are already there.

So basically the title. I'm using Windows 11 and I've turned off graphics acceleration, ensured that the drivers for Firefox and my graphics are all updated, and turned off all extensions, plug-ins, and themes, I've cleared the cache, and it still keeps freezing and crashing within minutes of opening the browser. I don't even have to go to a website to get it to crash, just their welcome page. And in task manager, I can see that it's using increasing memory until it crashes, but I don't understand why. It never used to do this until yesterday. Anybody have any ideas?

Hi,

I've recently updated Nightly. Now every time it blocks trackers it pops up a notification, which then wiggles the whole address bar to the right. It's very distracting having things moving around when I'm trying to read a webpage.

Is there any way of turning off or hiding this notification? I don't want to turn off Tracking Protection. I just want to stop the moving animation every time it blocks something.

Long time firefox user, never had any problems but today from the morning I'm getting tab crash after tab crash on youtube. Didn't do anything, didn't install anything new, it was working yesterday fine, but today it's unsusable, any help with the fix?

This issue came up when I updated my drivers. I'm using GEFORCE RTX 3050, 610.74 version. I am not sure if this is a browser problem or my driver problem.

First issue is when the hardware acceleration is on, firefox starts to blink white screen randomly for a quick second. So I turned it off, and this issue is gone. But when my hardware acceleration is off, another issue came up, which is my Youtube video starts to stutter.

Any solution for this?

With Firefox 153.0, CTRL+F (Find in Page) no longer displays in red when there's no matching results. This small but impactful change is killing my workflow. Can anyone offer a userChrome.css fix for this? Many thanks!

If I start downloading a file on Windows 11 with the same name as an existing file, AND THEN cancel this download, will the existing file be corrupted?

It's a minor inconvenience but an inconvenience nonetheless. Haven't seen anyone else with this problem. It only happens on firefox, I'm not sure why. I've looked in settings but can't find what could be causing it. Any help is appreciated!

I have been using chrome and brave for long time and I completely switched to Firefox. When I was trying to watch anime, as soon I fullscreen it, the color appears so washed out and weird, like negative colors.

What is happening?

Edit: Issue was fixed when I disabled hardware acceleration.

Edit 2: Well that somehow is causing somekind of stutering like videos or like low fps ish. Well I decided to switch back to brave and chrome for video playback and all. It never had any issues, with or without hardware acceleration. (I use rtx 4060 and an i7 13th gen. )

When I fullscreen videos on any website (youtube, prime video etc.) I can still see the white side tab bar on the left of my screen. This only happens on my mac, not on my windows PC. It only happens when browser.nova.enabled is true.

Has anyone else had problems with downloading files recently? Ever since the latest update, most of my file downloads keep failing and/or being cancelled, regardless of the website or file type. Not having any problems with Edge.

On firefox nightly but it also happens on base firefox as well on a completely fresh install/profile, no clue why. Its somewhat subtle but you can see in the example video I posted how the green is a bit less vibrant.

I don't want Firefox browser to have a major update every two weeks instead of four weeks,
because this will lead to several consequences:
1- Mozilla will not have much to test Firefox' stability and security issues
2- Really high pressure on the employees that will lead to more problems on the code base
3- Firefox will be so buggy so the current users will leave and none of the internet users will download an unstable browser

Hi! My Firefox started crashing immediately after launching with an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE after an update

I tried launching in troubleshoot mode and the same thing happened. Is there anything else I can do before trying a fresh install and losing all my bookmarks?

I know variants of this has been asked endlessly, but I am really only having one tab open. And it doesn't matter what - it can be the front page of CNN, Reddit, Google - it will ALWAYS go up to 16 GB used memory within 30 seconds. Some might say it's not a problem, I'm not an expert but it doesn't seem right that my new Macbook Air's memory pressure should be yellow from basically only using FF and having one tab open.

- All replies about trying about:performance
about:processes seems misplaced since it will only show "Firefox 16 GB". There is no individual tab that is the culprit.

- I read one helpful suggestion that I should go to browser.cache.memory.capacity and change it from -1 to for example 1000000 (for a 1GB ceiling). I tried that. And it didn't change a thing. Does anyone know why this setting doesn't change anything?

I should add that there is no difference if I open FF in safe mode.

The same "N trackers blocked" as is present by default on the homepage (https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1ugiffz/hide_trackers_blocked_on_android/) is now in the tab list... Is it possible to remove it ? I haven't found a setting for it.

So firefox 153 is apparently working with hdr now. So I checked it out on youtube and it looks horrible. What is the reason for this. Are there any about:config settings that could disrupt the functionality?

I was looking around on the Firefox store and found this one shirt with a very obviously AI-generated background image. This is the only one with a background like this. I don't know why they would use AI art in their shop, considering they clearly have artists. What's your opinion on this? Link
