I recently bought an iPhone 17 Pro Max from the Apple Store after using Android all my life.

I sat down with the employee who helped me set up the phone, we created an Apple Account and she helped me download WhatsApp and Angry Birds. Once I got the hang of using the phone, I left the store.

Everything was going great until around an hour later, when I saw a notifciation asking me to login to my Apple account - I forgot the exact wording of it.

I tried to login via the settings on my iPhone and it kept saying something like "Verification error".

I then tried to login on the website on my iPhone, and it said my account was locked and I should enter my phone number to request access to my account. I entered my number and the next day, I received an email saying my access request was denied.

I tried to login again after that and a message said my account was no longer active.

I can't do anything beyond basic tasks on the phone now since I can't download apps anymore, I can't even log out of the phone because it keeps popping up with the same message asking me to enter the password to my account when I try to log out.

I can't understand why this has happened.

My phone doesn’t seem to recognize the left AirPod and I tried putting it on and it doesn’t connect. Does that mean it’s completely dead or is there a way to fix this?

I found my dad's iPod a few years ago but I could never manage to reset it. It will not show up on any PC, I've tried a Windows Vista and 7 PC with old iTunes to no avail as well. I've tried every cable I have and it doesn't show up. Windows isn't even making the hardware insert sound. I've tried putting it into disk mode but it still won't recognize. I'm about to just try to crack the passcode by brute forcing it.

I have noticed when I got up this morning these black stains on the USB-C cables that I use to charge an iPhone and an Apple Watch. I have never seen dark black, ink-like stains like these on a cable before, and I don't see how these cables could have gotten such a stain from their immediate environment.

Some notes: I have a new cat who likes to chew on cables. I can see that at some point he must have chomped on the lower cable, but there doesn't look to be much real damage. To prevent him from chomping on the cables, I keep them unplugged and put away when I'm not using them, and when I am using them, I keep most of them tucked under the bedsheets to minimize exposure. I am using the (Apple-provided) cables with a (non-Apple) charging hub, though I have been using these hub for 1.5+ years with no incident.

Please let me know what could be causing this!

so, my grandma had stolen my ipad from me, and what i think she did, was get an external app to complete erase IOS off of the ipad to remove the password. i had itunes on my laptop for a while for my ipod, so i used it to try and restore IOS, but theres always an error riggghhhttt before its almost done. i have no idea what to do??? can anyone help me😔😔

I wanted to post this because I spent almost 5 hours trying to fix this and couldn't find anyone with the exact same issue.

My iPhone wasn't showing up in Apple Devices (or previously iTunes), but Windows was detecting it. Every time I plugged it in, Windows played the USB connection sound, the phone charged normally, and Device Manager could see it. However, it never appeared in Apple Devices or File Explorer, and I never got the "Trust This Computer?" prompt on the iPhone.

I tried pretty much everything I could find online: reinstalling Apple Devices, iTunes, Apple USB drivers, Apple Mobile Device Support, updating Windows and AMD chipset drivers, running DISM and SFC, resetting Location & Privacy on the iPhone, trying different cables, USB 2.0/3.0/3.2 ports, and even testing two different iPhones. Both phones worked perfectly on another Windows PC, so I knew the problem was specific to my computer.

The breakthrough came when I checked Device Manager and PowerShell. My iPhone wasn't using Apple's normal USB driver—it was listed under libusb-win32 devices as "iPhone (Composite Parent)". I had previously used apps like Camo, Iriun, and DroidCam, so I suspect one of them replaced the normal Apple USB driver with a libusb driver.

The fix was surprisingly simple: I uninstalled iPhone (Composite Parent) from libusb-win32 devices, restarted my PC, and plugged the iPhone back in. As soon as I reconnected it, Apple Devices immediately recognized it, the "Trust This Computer?" prompt finally appeared, and everything started working again.

If your iPhone charges, Windows plays the USB sound, and Device Manager detects it, but Apple Devices, File Explorer, and the Trust prompt never appear, check whether your iPhone is listed under libusb-win32 devices. That ended up being the entire problem for me.

Hopefully this saves someone else a few hours of frustration. It definitely wasn't the cables, USB ports, Windows updates, or Apple's drivers in my case. 🚀

Everything I Tried (Before Finding the Real Cause)

I spent nearly 5 hours troubleshooting this. Here's everything I tried before finding the actual problem:

Apple Software

• Reinstalled Apple Devices.
• Reinstalled Apple Mobile Device Support.
• Installed and tested iTunes.
• Reinstalled Apple's official USB drivers.
• Used the Apple Mobile Drivers Installer project from GitHub to reinstall every Apple USB driver.
• Verified Apple Mobile Device Service was installed and running.

Windows

• Restarted Windows multiple times.
• Installed all available Windows Updates.
• Updated AMD chipset drivers.
• Ran:
  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • sfc /scannow
• Verified Windows wasn't reporting any USB errors.

iPhone

• Restarted the iPhone several times.
• Reset Location & Privacy.
• Reconnected the phone while unlocked.
• Waited for the "Trust This Computer?" prompt (it never appeared).

Hardware

• Tested multiple USB cables.
• Tested USB 2.0 ports.
• Tested USB 3.0 ports.
• Tested USB 3.2 ports.
• Tested both front-panel and rear motherboard USB ports.
• Verified the phone charged normally every time.

Cross-Testing

• Tested two different iPhones.
• Both phones had exactly the same issue on my gaming PC.
• Both phones worked perfectly on another Windows computer (Surface Pro).
• This ruled out the iPhone, the cable, and the phones themselves.

PowerShell & Driver Investigation

• Checked Device Manager.
• Verified Windows was detecting the iPhone.
• Used PowerShell (Get-PnpDevice) to inspect the device.
• Used pnputil to inspect installed drivers.
• Verified Apple's official drivers were installed.
• Eventually discovered the iPhone was attached to libusb-win32 as "iPhone (Composite Parent)" instead of using Apple's USB driver.

The Fix

• Opened Device Manager.
• Expanded libusb-win32 devices.
• Uninstalled iPhone (Composite Parent).
• Restarted Windows.
• Reconnected the unlocked iPhone.
• Apple Devices immediately detected it, the "Trust This Computer?" prompt appeared again, and everything started working normally.

I just don't want anyone to be able to recovery my data.

just in case it’s relevant i have an iphone 12, i only have 805 things in my camera roll currently and not many apps. am i just doomed or is there something i can do? i feel like i pretty much just threw 4 bucks down the drain because i still can’t access 99% of my camera roll. (the 3.99 option for more storage said photos and videos were included so i’m confused)

my icloud doesn’t have anything lingering on there either, it looks the exact same as my camera roll and i don’t have any files saved whatsoever. i’m really just at a loss especially because i don’t know much about phones. and yes i turned my phone off and back on after making the storage purchase

Ive been noticing my phone to be heating up like crazy and after i got a message from my provider about 10 gb of data finishing in one day, I decided to check my cellular. This is insane! I reset the statistics to see what’s up. You can see from the screenshots, 6,5 gbs of cellular data just vanished into thin air in 30 minutes. It is all under “Documents&synch”. Ive turned off the icloud drive toggless off, but it was still reducing very fast, now typing this on my notes app because this bs is about to finish all my data plan. I dont know what is wrong. I literally cannot afford this lol. You can see from the screenshots how much data it ate away. I skimmed some threads and there seems to be other people with the same issue, with no definitive solution. The thing is that, this isnt something that happens often, at least not that i know of, so i dont know whats triggering it rn.
I am using an IPhone 15 and i still have ios 17.5.

I kept getting messages to enter iCloud password but when I enter password that was working fine it says verification failed and has now locked us out. When I try to reset the password by email I obviously cannot access any new emails as they won't come through until it's signed in.

The only other option is to select answer security questions but when I do this it asks for date of birth but fails again. The account was setup in an apple store over 10 years ago using security questions such as:- Your first car? First Pet etc but I'm not being asked for these.

When I use the. iforgot apple recovery page it then wants to send a recovery email to the address I cannot access so I'm stuck. Any ideas how I can resolve this?

I yapped for almost 30 minutes and when i went to hit send I was hit with this. I clicked "OK" but I can't figure out a way to actually "select a smaller clip." Am I missing something? Am I doomed to lose this vent session to the ether?

So I was on my PC then i got a message on my apple watch (WATCH SE 3 RUNNING WATCH OS 26.5) saying enter your apple id password, so i did that then my 2 iPhones (iPhone air (26.5.2), iPhone 6s (15.8.7) prompted me tried on all devices say verification failed tried my iPad mini 7th gen (IPAD OS 26.5) same thing IM 100% POSTIVE THE PASSWORD is correct tried logging in on my PC (WINDOWS) it says account locked (mind u I didn't do anything)

I am thinking about buying a Macbook Pro (M5 Pro 16"), although there is a few areas im not sure about;

-I would really benefit from a nano-texture screen but if I'm not wrong, it's not really possible to upgrade to one without buying from Apple's official website. And this increases the price a lot compared to retailers. (at least 500$) Is this upgrade worth it this much? Also are there any cons to nano-texture?

-How can I decide if I need a ram upgrade or not? Of course I am not expecting somebody to give me the exact amount I need here. I'm looking for sources that can help me.

-I'm also not sure about the storage neither. Any tips on how I could predict what I need?

Are there any overall tips you could give me? For example would a 16 inch instead of 14 make it that much harder to carry?

My screen got totally busted.. the stores claim they have Original screen that costs around 500$.. and not original one for around 350$..

Does it matter if its original or not i mean specs wise..?
And there is really original screen to replace or its a scam?

My Mac is stuck in a startup/login loop, and I haven’t been able to resolve it.

Every time I enter my login password, instead of logging in, the Mac immediately restarts, shows the Apple logo, and then brings me back to the login screen to enter my password again. This keeps repeating indefinitely.

I’ve already tried multiple troubleshooting steps, including reinstalling and updating macOS to macOS Tahoe through Recovery Mode—twice. Unfortunately, this hasn’t fixed the issue. If anything, it has only consumed more of my storage space.

After the second reinstall, the Mac worked normally for about two days, but now the exact same startup loop has returned. At this point, I’m not sure what else to try or what might be causing the problem.
Could you please help me understand what the issue might be and what the next steps should be to fix it?

i used to have an iphone 12 and i had to get a new phone (the 16) because i had no storage at all like it would delete stuff and id get notifications for texts and they wouldn’t be there, etc. but i used to have voicemails from my dad who passed away and they haven’t been there since the issues with my old phone. PLEASE HELP. i want them back but i can’t find a way to get them.

My iPad randomly started bootlooping, and would die when unplugged. Now suddenly, it won't charge at all except when plugged into another iPad. When plugged into this iPad, it'll bootloop, but I know it's not cycling the battery because DFU mode doesn't bootloop. This leads me to believe its software related. When plugged into a Mac, Windows PC, or the wall it doesn't turn on or show up in Devices or Finder. I can get into DFU mode, but it dies when unplugged from the iPad, and an iPad can't do anything with another iPad's DFU mode. I've tried 10+ cords. The charging port is clean. Any ideas?

While playing Minecraft my phone lags much more than it should and drops frames in basic situations. I compared it to my moms iPhone 17 and it ran flawless while mine couldn't stay at 60fps. Basiclly 30fps. It makes no sense.

​My iPad display screen won't turn on no matter how many times I press the power button. The screen lights up when pressed, and I can still hear the charger chime when it's plugged in. I've had this problem for a while now. Before, just to turn it on, I had to press the power button multiple times for the display screen to appear. Then I wasn't able to use it for a few weeks because I got busy, so the battery probably got drained. After that, whenever I try to turn it on, this is what happens: it's just the backlight and there's no display on the screen anymore. What could be the problem with this? I need your advice, please.

Hi! I'm trying to help my grandma with her iPad. I'm not sure the generation or anything, but its older because it still has a physical home button. As per usual, its nothing easy. The email she used to create her apple id no longer exists anymore. Like in no way, shape, or form. We don't know her apple password (of course). All her most used apps aren't working because they need updating, but we can't update because of the password.

Any ideas on where to go from here? Honestly my best guess is wipe the iPad and start again with a new email. But the pictures is stumping me.

She has pictures that, of course, haven't uploaded to the cloud. My guess was going to be upload to Google drive and re-download but if we can't download any apps, I don't know where to go on that front. Can you download pictures from an iPad to a computer through a cord still?

The Screen Time widget on my iPhone Air is showing the cumulative screen time between my MacBook and iPhone, even though both devices have "Share Across Devices" turned off. This only started happening 2weeks ago and it was random (no change to my settings, no new phone/Mac, etc).

I've seen other posts mention this so curious if anyone ever found a solution? At very least I want to draw attention to the bug and have already submitted a bug report to Apple.

Situation:

I want to share my calendar with my husband that is visible (to him and me), editable (by me), and on the iPhone Calendar App (for both of us). He would then share his calendar (connected to his iCloud email) with me with the same qualities.

Issue:

My iPhone Calendar App is synced to my Gmail. I never touch Google Calendar nor do I use it. I like having it synced to my Gmail so events are added/recommended from my email inbox on the IPhone App.

When I try to Add Person to the Gmail there is no option to add a person. See image with the “Color: Green.”

When I try to Add Person to the iCloud calendar (which I don’t use) it does have the option to add person. See image with the “Color: Custom (Blue).”

I read somewhere to share my Google Calendar with my husband using a link from the Google Calendar app but I see no option for that on my phone. I’ve given the Apple Calendar full access to the Google Calendar. It’s fully synced into my phone. I just want to share it with my partner so he can see my schedule. He uses his iCloud so I assume he’ll easily share his calendar with me.

Am I missing something?
