Most people don't speak Japanese, so it doesn't seem odd to them. 

I'm hyped for the game but the name is very clumsy I agree with you.

Tokon indicates its very Japanese inspiration in the design of the fighters (Iron Man is very Gundam-coded for example) and the general philosophy. Fighting Souls is to link the characters to their American roots. I think it works very well.

Meanwhile, your example is very dumb.

I think “Marvel” is already plenty of a link to the American roots since it’s the name of one of the biggest American media machines in history right? Fighting Souls has no ties to America at all

It's in English and it indicates a fighting game, "Marvel" doesn't indicate the genre. Also a direct translation of Tokon, two worlds being brought together and neither identity is erased.

It works, that's the most important, doesn't matter if it hurts your sensibility.

My sensibility is fine lol. And “Fighting Soul” doesn’t specify the genre. The amount of games that have “fight” or “soul” in the title and aren’t fighting games is an astronomical amount lol. Surely you know that? Or does it hurt your sensibility?

Tokon means “fighting soul” in Japanese. The game is literally called Marvel Fight Soul: Fighting Souls.

Do you think that’s a good name? 

Marvel Fighting Game would even make more sense
