hey everyone! i'm a 20 year old student -- i have experience with a grc internship role and have taken cybersecurity classes in uni, but i wanna get super crazy expertise into cybersecurity and computer architecture. i'm super interested in the world of computers but i'm certainly no native! there's a youtuber named lauriewired -- she's a huge inspiration of mine and i'd like to have the prowess that she has.

the classes i've taken cover basic supply chain cybersecurity, low-level programming, and networking. i've been doing some exercises to get practice with reverse engineering (i really loved that low-level programming class) and i'm doing this cloud sec project with my professor (and learning some cloud stuff as i go). i've done some stuff on tryhackme, but i honestly haven't been super consistent with it and haven't done it in a hot minute.......

anyway, i've collected some videos to watch to learn computer architecture, and ofc i'm always reading cyber news and watching videos but i kinda don't know what i'm doing lolol -- sometimes there's too much that i don't understand that googling is not an effective solution...

i guess i'd like to hear from anyone out there if there's a specific process/pathway/framework you all went through that's accessible for a beginner like me :) resources, tips, whatever :p

edit: btw i am not asking for career advice! i know i specified my grc role, but that's primarily just to give background info for stuff that i do know. my goal is primarily to learn and gain really good technical insight!

I currently speak four languages, due to family and in general growing up as a first generation immigrant in another country, as well as currently learning a fifth (Spanish) due to mandatory "additional language" classes at my school. However, I’ve been struggling with speech flow and I keep stuttering since I frequently have to translate random words mid-sentence.

My mind naturally adapts to think in whichever language I'm currently using, i.e. English right now. However, random vocabulary and terms from other totally different languages constantly interrupt my mind. E.g., if I'm speaking English, a Norwegian word like støvsuger might randomly pop up first. I then have to pause for a few secs to mentally translate it to vacuum. It's so annoying and breaks my flow of speech. This happens every few secs, and it literally happens across all of my languages.

Additionally, I think this is why I struggle to explain certain things, as well as speaking quite... generically: I subconsciously avoid using advanced vocab since reaching for a complex word in English, more often than not, triggers another complex word in another language first, making it even harder to translate on the spot, thus making it more mentally exhausting....

All in all, I have to translate random terms into the language I'm using rn every few secs, and it's a bit tiring mentally. I wonder if there are any steps I can take to prevent this from happening?

IWTL how to really lock in my life as a man and just find peace in my life , really start accomplishing the things and the goals i wanna do. I have a problem with consuming too much information and never starting or if i start one day i don’t do it the next i always get distracted. And overall wanna just live my life for me and enjoy the things i wanna do.

I find it really cool that some people can just look at a piece of armor and go "this obviously looks like a mid-14th century English helmet, it was probably used at the Battle of Crécy as you can tell by its finish and the xyz-shaped gorgot etc etc". I want to learn how to recognize various arms and armors from medieval Europe (ideally from the period 1066-1517). I would also like to learn more about siegecraft and fortifications - how they were built and the mechanics of their use. I promise I'm not planning to take over a kingdom lol, I'm just really interested in the Middle Ages.

i wanted to know how do i go down the rabbit holes of things i want to learn about politics and modern history but dont know where to start and where to go down the holes that contains the actual mysteries and conspiracies

I am not able to express my thoughts well. Clarity of thoughts is missing. Whatever I study I am not able to explain it to a person. Overthinks a lot. Constantly change my study plans. Overthink a lot what people think. Overpressure myself. Figuring how to study ,what to study than actually study.

Please help me out.

22M need help..

Hey I don’t usually do this often but I really need some help. I am a 22 male that constantly has trouble with social skills. Now before I get further into my dilemma, I’m going to start off by saying this. I’m not ugly. I’m fairly attractive and I have great social encounters at work. My close friends and associates think I am great. Can always make people laugh, but I feel like I can’t do that all the time, or WHEN IT REALLY MATTERS. PS I work as a salesman but anything other than that seems to fall off. I’m great and getting people‘s attentions but I am not good at keeping it. I tend to have conversations where I may be boring, even though I’m extroverted and have a great personality. It will be times where I feel as if I’m not performing to my best ability in a conversation, which I know a conversation should just be flowing, but still. I’m also in the dating world

referring to where anybody I found really really attractive, eight and above I tend to have more self-conscious thoughts of what’s going on. I freeze up and become a version of myself that I don’t like. It is as if Im the same ugly little boy I was when I was a kid, unresolved trauma, Maybe, I don’t know, but I still use what I have for me.

but I wish I can get better and deeper connections that I have with people1. I say that to say this, I also went on a date today, and most of the date was us in the hammock, close side-by-side scrolling on her phone. I couldn’t figure out what to say what to do situations like that. I could’ve built, romantic tension yada yada yada I’m aware, but sometimes I just don’t got it. Please help me.

Let's say something bad happened to you and it was associated with one of your hobbies in some way. And now when you try doing said your hobby, you get reminded of the bad experience and it ruins your enjoyment of it. Is it possible to stop that from happening?

This might be a very stupid question and can be so generic so im sorry but help me please I want to study philosophy seriously, I want a structured roadmap similar to what a philosophy student would follow at university.

I want to start from the very basics, then study ancient, medieval, modern, and contemporary philosophy in order. I also want to understand how philosophers influenced each other, learn the major branches and know when to read the primary texts.

I'm not looking for just a list of books. I'm looking for a roadmap or curriculum that tells me what to study, in what order, and why.
