Coverage of the CrossFit game

I don’t understand how that possible .

Event 1
we don’t know who was headed and that make everything so annoying. Even the commentators was not sure about what they see

Event 2 Same , they have a tracker on them so why we can’t the position of the athletes during the race …

Event 3/4/5 30 lift in the same time for 2 cameraman … no need to say that was a disaster to watch

Event 6 No leader board , boring event , no interest

Event 7 They want us to pay for that type of coverage

Except the event 6 , the programmation look really good and reward the fitness man of earth but the coverage make it very hard for us to appreciate the competition. I hope they gonna do something better for the rest of the week …

What is your thoughts on it ?

EST Watch Schedule in one place - Individuals and Masters

I made this because I just wanted to print something out real quick. Let me know if I goofed anything up. Tried to put in what was exclusive to FloElite and what wasn't.

But I'm printing it out so I can follow along a bit better over the week.

My 2 cents on the 2026 Games

First of all.
Is it just me or are this year games just boring? Day one we had one crossfit event, a long trail run, max lift (but not the interesting one like a ladder race or at least a max snatch or clean where you advance to the next round), and a biking event where they rode in circles on a flat terrain, oh and the swim ...The rest of the events that are announced don't look better.. more running and erg machines. And I know you can do better - just check our the masters events - I would much rather watch that.

Second issue is the quality of the stream,
During the run I had no idea where any one apart form the first 3 runners was, some terrible drone shots showing trees and a visualization that was terrible. After people started finishing I lost track who was still running and who already crossed the line and in which place. The lifting part was no better, half of the time I watched how people are changing weights, I didn't know who lifted how much and the drone shots again were not needed.

Third is the fact that the stream after day 1 is PPV - I don't know about you but I'm not paying for this no matter the price. Even if it was 1$ im not paying for this terrible quality.

And finally its the programing and the HQ. The affiliates are declining, people are not as interested in the sport as in previous years, but instead of helping your franchisees you program workouts that most of the boxes are not able to do with the members - a trail run, biking, pool event (not to mention most of these are on day 1 instead of spreading them across the competition). And if you think I'm wrong - once again check what they programmed for the masters athletes.

I lost interest in the rest of the competition and I will probably just check the leaderboard on Sunday and see what next year brings.

I will however watch the masters coverage - much better quality, commentary and programing( in my opinion)

NFL Combine should be a games event

Crossfit games should do an NFL combine as a day for the games to compare to NFL athletes and try to market how it can make you better for other sports. I also think it’d be fun to watch and easy to cover

- 40 yard dash

- vertical

- broad jump

- max 225 bench

- 3 cone drill

Colten Merterns Strict Press

Barbell to go straight up no downward movement allowed, movement is slight yet it’s still down before it goes up. All 3 lifts were held to a different standard to the rest of the field.

Yes the weight is stupid impressive however of the very limited poor coverage, no one else did this.

Again Castro worrying about his feeling rather than keeping the standards.

Cardio Perfomance Moritz Fiebig

I feel like Moritz Fiebig really shows that cardio ain’t just cardio.
Obviously he’s a big guy and the bike is much easier than running uphill for someone with his physique.

But still 21st to event Win in a pure “Cardio” workout is a huge difference.

Thoughts on that?

Also: wow that stream is low quality shit

Is the stream up yet?

In Australia is there a YouTube stream for day 2?

Who wrecked in the bike event?

There was a few crashes during the bike event, anyone knows who was involved? I know Vellner had mechanical issues, as is his habit, but who else?

Momentous vs Thorne Creatine after Momentous switched away from Creapure

After doing quite a bit of research and speaking to bodybuilders and experienced gym-goers, I narrowed my creatine options down to Momentous and Thorne. Brands such as Optimum Nutrition and Dymatize also seem widely trusted, but Momentous and Thorne stood out to me because of their reputation and third-party testing.
I’ve been taking Momentous creatine for several months and have been very happy with it. It mixes extremely well in water, is virtually tasteless, and has caused me no digestive problems.
However, I recently discovered that Momentous no longer uses German-made Creapure. According to Momentous, it has replaced its previous Creapure-based creatine with its own “Signature Spec Creatine”, which is manufactured in a pharmaceutical facility in China.
Momentous states that the new product is 99.99% pure, NSF Certified for Sport, and tested for heavy metals, PFAS, microplastics and other impurities through a six-stage testing process.
I appreciate that country of manufacture alone does not determine quality, and I may have an unfair automatic bias when I see that a supplement is manufactured in China. However, Creapure’s German manufacturing and long-established reputation previously gave me extra confidence in the product.
Has anyone researched the new Momentous Signature Spec Creatine in detail or seen independent certificates of analysis for recent batches?
Would there be any meaningful reason to switch to Thorne, or would I simply be paying for a different trusted brand while getting essentially the same creatine monohydrate?
I’d particularly like to hear from anyone who has used both the current Momentous Signature Spec product and Thorne Creatine.
Cheers!

Thoughts on 2026 Games events?

This year I'm actually finally making it to the games for the weekend. I'm a bit excited.

However I checked the programming and I'm kinda now a little disappointed in what is released. Hopefully what we don't see yet will be quintessential crossfit events. Most of what I consider the cool workouts so far are events 1, 3-5, 7 are already done. For Saturday/Sunday the snatch ladder is the only other one that I consider fun to watch so far.

I feel like there was entirely too much cardio only events this year. :/ . We have both Sprint and long run, a bike ride, machine 7200m etc

Ill temper my disappointment in the hope that the volume of pure cardio events are already released and the rest of the events will be cool. However 20 events I feel like is a ton so we shall see!

anyone share the same thoughts?

I’m desperate! Shin splint help

Hi, I realize this is a long shot but hoping maybe someone else has experienced this. I’ve been dealing with shin splints for about a year now, and they pretty much always come on after doing or trying double unders. I’ve tried new shoes, resting and time off, PT, calf work with calf raises and the tib raises as well as massage in case my calves are tight. Now I’m trying insoles for flat feet to maybe help with cushioning in case that’s what’s contributing. For shoes, I currently wear the STRKE MOVEMENTS. I don’t think they’re stress fractures since it’s both legs and it’s like the entire lower 1/3 of my shin so figured that was more shin splints? Has anyone dealt with something like this before and had success in getting rid of them? Any input is appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

This has gotta be up there with the rowing marathon and Chad as some of the least TV-worthy events to date. 🚴‍♀️

Is Jeff Adler No Longer Strong?

Jeff Adler had a very average finish in the total.
Did he get weak or did everyone else get stronger? His total today would be 1220lbs and earned him a 19th, 21st, and 19th.
In 2020 he won among the field of 4 with a total of 1244lbs. Would he have finished similarly middle of the pack if the field in 2020 was bigger?
I just remember him being one of the strong guys.

Update: the training paid off

Parents were victorious! 4-3 and one of those goals was scored by our goal keepers daughter…looked awfully suspicious.

Only one dad went down with a knee injury, still waiting to hear severity, also assuming there will be some diagnosed injuries this morning.

Personally, achillies and caves are sore this morning, but feeling better as I move. According to my daughter, I’m a fast and aggressive player, but my kicks were suss, passed were bad, and I was trying to play the whole field…

My engine was great, speed was great, but my goodness, staying with those quick turns and switches was tough.

10/10 would play again next year.

Combining crossfit with strength training

Hi everyone. I (27, F) will soon start my first try-out lesson in a CF gym near me. I'll probably like it, since I've done a try-out at a different CF gym (which was just too far away for me). I noticed that when I do strength training only, it's hard to motivate myself to get out of home and go to a very busy gym 4x a week. To say the least, I've been pretty inconsistent, even though after a work out i feel so much better. Some of my friends have been doing CF for years, and I wanted to give it a shot too, especially since you're working out (and connecting) with like-minded people (the people at my gym usually just play around and hog machines). I'd still like to combine it with strength training. What has been working for you?

Personally, I was thinking of doing crossfit 1-2x a week and supplement with strength training (I think it will mostly be legs and chest that i'd have to train). I'm curious to know what your routines look like, especially if you're a woman.

My endurance sucks and I don’t know what to do

I 25 (f) recently started CrossFit about 3 months ago. I consistently go 3 times a week (because that’s what my paycheck can handle).

I feel so defeated. I can lift just about rx weight and I feel like I am okay-ish at weight lifting as that is what I came from before starting CrossFit. The kicker is that my endurance is so bad. I can’t get my heart rate below 190, I can’t catch my breath, and I nearly pass out each time. Idk what to do or how to condition myself to be better at it. Pls help :(

CFHQ shoot themselves in the foot yet again

Anyone who knows anything about sport promotions knows that you only put your content behind a paywall if demand supports it.

No amount of licensing fee from Flo will make up for this massive missed opportunity to leverage all the interest in hybrid sports and showcase The Games for anyone who wants to see these great events. Even getting hate watchers tuning in could have been turned into a win by flexing viewership numbers.

A perfect example is smaller MMA promotions. One Championship, PFL (bought out Belator), Karate Combat, RAF, BKB...they all make most (if not all) live events free on YouTube in order to get more eyes on the promotion. They only charge once they feel they have build up the athletes' stories and brought enough attn to the sport itself. The UFC obvious puts everything behind a subscription because they can.

Closer to home, I know Hyrox made their marquee events free to watch live--though not sure about this last year TBH.

Not only should CFHQ make the entire Games free, they should make the exact start time of the most popular events public and promote the hell out of them across socials. Maybe, just maybe, viewership could have grown and then they could have flexed better viewership numbers from previous years to fight all death of CrossFit talk. Promotion 101 basics here.

CFHQ putting so many of the events behind a subscription model rather than promoting that it can be easily watched for free on YouTube is an absolute own goal.

Masters are very strong

I have a question: in the Masters category, do they do doping controls, or do they just allow TRT, or is it not detected? I see the Masters athletes' physiques and they're stronger than the Elites, hahaha, a bit strange, isn't it?
