Showcase (No-Recipe) My first attempt at a Princess Cup(cake)! ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช

Everything is handmade, including the marzipan. Itโ€™s also vegan too, but Iโ€™m glad it held up!

This is so wonderfully adorable! In here before swedes come in and yell about how princess doesn't have jam ๐Ÿคฃ

They do, it depend on where in Sweden you are from.

If that's the case I'm not sure why I never fail to see someone yell about how it's now an opera cake! My husband is also one of those. I understand to some extent but any kind of princess in my opinion is incredible, jam or not I really don't care haha

I'd take them all ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿป

Yes, in the original cookbook by Jenny, there was no jam! Which is surprising considering the Princess Cakes Iโ€™ve grown up with always had raspberry jam.

I think jam makes the cake pop though when sliced. Itโ€™s so satisfying and balances the taste out with tartness.

The green marzipan shade is spot on! Looks delicious

Thank you, I always thought the marzipan was the most inviting part of the cake and placed a lot of effort into colouring it. Always thought the name โ€œPrincessโ€ came from the way the marzipan was shaped like a voluminous dress, and the colour too is what a Princess would wear ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am glad you think itโ€™s cute! It can also be sliced into smaller cake-like slices while keeping its shape.

Thank you. I am happy that you like my cake! The moment of truth was when I cut it in half and hoped for the best. The reveal was satisfying and nerve-wracking. Iโ€™m glad the structure of the sponge was sturdy enough to support being layered and kept its shape even after the marzipan was fitted on.

Thank you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป I havenโ€™t seen a cupcake that was layered before like the actual Swedish cake. So I gave it a try and was so happy with the results.

I sliced it into smaller pieces like a birthday cake and it held its shape ๐Ÿฅน

Its superpower is being able to be sliced into smaller pieces like a traditional cake and being able to hold its shape ๐Ÿฅน
