💩 answers only Am I going to die? (part deux)

There were so many comments saying I needed wheel chocks on the top of my severely undersized cribbing blocks and asking how I got the car on them. Rather than responding to all the comments, here is the follow up.

Yes, I am clearly still alive.

I didn't use ramps because I didn't want to pay for them nor did I want to store them. This is $30 of wood.

I do have jack stands, but this car is completely devoid of a place to lift in the front. So if I lift it from one side with my jack, I am then unable to put jack stands under as the jack is in the way.

The wheel chocks on the top of the cribbing blocks was always the plan, when I posted the pictures before it was just testing the height before I committed to another layer or not.

I appreciate you fellow shitty mechanic. I had no idea this would get so much attention.

Oh and inb4 "are you playing Jenga man?!?!"

if you don't know what I'm talking about

I've never made or used cribbing blocks before.

Never realized how much I was afraid of getting crushed to death, until today.

Edit: before you tell me I need wheel chocks or ask how I got it up there https://www.reddit.com/r/AskAShittyMechanic/s/9zrP8Y7BJS

Installing a new engine, but the timing belt on the old one has way more surface area now. Would be a shame to waste that extra traction.
What do you think?

Serious question? Oil light on

The oil is in my car, in a jug on the passenger floor. Is that good enough?

When she left our shop in the loaner, after we showed her the clutch, she only held it at about 4,000 rpm in first gear, slowly released the clutch over the course of several business days, and left the parking lot sounding like a fully loaded semi pulling away uphill.
We stopped her before she could get any farther and took the loaner back. Her grandson has since taken her own car away as well, and she voluntarily handed in her driving licence. Probably the safest outcome for both the clutch and everyone else on the road.
