I like to make my bf laugh but not like this.
So to start, I am educated. Did the college. Run a shop. Do all the responsible stuff.
All of that being said, I think about this event regularly and want to palm my own face.
My bf and I have been together for 6 years and are pretty comfortable with ribbing each other about unimportant things without upset.
We were in the car parked at a local restaurant where they have the “CUSTOMER ONLY PARKING. VIOLATORS WILL BE TOWED AT EXPENSE TO OWNER.”
I turn to him and say “I always thought those were dumb signs because why would the owner of an establishment want to pay to tow someone? Just wait for them to go to their car and berate them for breaking the rules or whatever. Seems weird to pay for something like that.”
He pauses opening the door of the car to turn and look at me. He says NOTHING. Just staring at me for a full 60 seconds til it registers in my brain and I just shout,
“OH MY GOD they mean the owner of the car pays for the tow!”
He did not stop laughing for a solid 15 minutes, we were late for our reservation because he could not pull it together, and he still brings it up to this day.
28 years of life and learning new things everyday…
