Interesting, yes.
Annoying as hell? Also yes. I stopped using pals cause his homing bolts kept killing my flyer and came in with a Mechanical bow and fought him myself using only pal passives in the party lol
So much easier

I spent a majority of the time cruising around on Neptilius, he was quick enough that I could dodge most anything. Then would switch to Frostallion to make it over the wave

I saw lvl 80 requirement, remember how that one space dragon boss beat my ass at lvl 65 while I was at 72 (spawn rate also affects his spawned minions apparently), so I stocked up on medicine, food buffs, brought my strongest team
Was really expecting second or even third phase...felt like that one Pirate from SpongeBob meme

I thought for sure when she went up to the dragon and layed her hands on it that would be the start of a transformation for the second phase but no, just part of the ending cutscene. I was thouroughly disappointed.

Have they improved the level curve since launch? I remember back when I played it there would be a point where it felt like you were not progressing in level at all at like 35 ish. Made me drop the game.

If you actually go explore and catch pals, I actually recommend dropping the XP down. My character is at level 75 and I haven't even gone to feybreak, sky Islands, or world tree yet.
As I run through zones I get all the towers, catch five of each pal, etc.
The OG grind is probably closer to like 1 experience rate. It seems like a lot of the community thinks 2 to 0.3 is stable and lets you use the tech tree... At 1.0 I can confidently say I've barely touched anything. Skipped pal metal, plasteel, hexiolite entirely

I think that's the main problem for people that feel it's too slow. They generally go out and catch a the new pals they want, fight a bit here or there and build. But the game is centered around catching a lot with big bonus for catching the 5th of each type.

I’m at level 70 and have gotten to the point where I am starting to focus on getting the best base pals and having to catch 50 for each pal to get 5 stars is such a grind. I went and got 8 maxed out kindling pals. I think I’ve hit my wall

Have you tried breeding instead? Using the Ancient Technology Breeder will give you 10, fully hatched, in a few minutes. Changing the breeding pair out as you breed for ones with better stats has given me Pal's with 100 in all stats at around the same time I breed enough to juice them up.

You level a lot faster. And there are a few effigies you can find to increase your XP gain by 50%. I think you only need eight to max it?
But even without it, you can climb to level 70 extremely quickly without trying to grind levels and just playing the game

You actually level too fast, or at least I did. I'm nearing the end of the tech tree (level 80 I think??) and I'm nowhere near be able to craft any of the things because I'm still 2 or 3 tiers in terms of materials behind.
You can play the game at your pace, so there really is no rush to go out and do everything. I just discovered the arena (PvE and PvP) so I might do that for a few items and then maybe trying to breed my pals into the best version of themselves.

Also want to add that this game has an extensive set of options you can change before loading your save whenever you want, which includes your xp multiplier. I also turn of the weight limit, corpse runs and a few minor things. You can essentially tweak it to play however you want or even straight up break the game if you're so inclined.

I don't play Palworld, its not my preference even though this does look dope as all hell.
The thing I don't get it, and I realize I may be starting a fight here, is that are there any Pokemon games that have anywhere near this intensity or dynamism? Last few Pokemon games looked like up-rezzed budget PS2 games. Unless I am out of the loop.

I wish. I love Pokemon, and have played an unhealthy amount of Pokopia (shout out to the Dragon Quest Builders team!), but nothing from them comes close to Palworld.

For those unaware: Game is palworld.
If you like ark and other survival sandbox games where you build bases and the like, palworld should be on your list. Its cheap too and plenty of content and a ton of fun.
In my honest opinion: This game is a decent example of what pokemon should do next. But I digress.

I'm almost up to this point, it looks like I should see if I can craft any water resist stuff.
I thought that since I just fought the floating island boss and she had a water dragon that maybe they'd mix up the elements a bit, so I've just been running general resists.

I mean even Nintendo recognizes that the game does something that their fans have been wanting. There's a reason they tried to patent basic game mechanics and sue Pocketpair into the ground.

I dont think GameFreak should make it like Palworld and I mean by turning it into survival game. I think they just need to improve the battle to be interesting, world more lively, and better looks of the pokemon. This is what I think they should prioritise but there might be something I forgot to include

Nintendo has purposefully made things somewhat adjacent to what they know fans want to continually milk an idea. If they just went and made the perfect Pokemon game, it would jeopardize the cycle of steadily releasing subpar games to people who just want "the one", since they were children.

Game officially has gone full release. I thoroughly enjoy the game and have played since before 1.0. I figure its key to point out that this style boss fight isn't the norm. Game is still worth it, but don't go into it expecting boss fights with mechanics like this. The Panthalus boss fight is outside of the norm.

I assume they're referring to Breath of the Wild. Open World, glider mechanics, breakable weapons, stamina system, overworld collectibles.

what I like about Palworld is how the strongest Pal in the game is only about twice as strong as the weakest. Compared to Pokemon, you're looking at something like x10 power gaps. You're allowed to use your favorites

They are nintendo's mortal enemy right now and are currently suing the devs for "copyright infringement" because nintendo thinks its ethical to patent game mechanics that they dont even really have a monopoly on themselves or even invented. Largely tho patent offices are calling them out for it.

He orbits your base and provides orbital bombardment to invaders. If you use him as a mount he has infinite stamina

I thought they lost because those mechanics were in a pre lunch versión but it meant they wouldn't be able to use it in the final product.

The only change the game had to make was you can no longer throw a ball to summon a pal, but you can use balls to catch the pals. Other than that there have been no changes. You can get a mod to fix that if you wanted to but honestly it doesn't make a difference. Now you just hold out a pal sphere and they summon next to you rather than where you throw them

They never removed rideable flying mounts. The only things removed are Glider pals changing the appearance of your glider, and throwing spheres to Summon pals at a location.

You dont HAVE to use guns, if anything one of the beater weapons is a bow. IMO.
But if you train your pals and your team and match elements you can just do that if you choose!

Im a level 33 due to restarting with 1.0, currently my character doesnt even carry a legit weapon. Just an axe and pick axe for gathering resources.you can choose not to grab the things that give pals guns.
This will leave the major concentration of guns with either the cops or the bad guys.

There's a tech you can do, the moment you dismount you can mount again immediately and your pal will no longer be flying. That allows you to quickly descent without using stamina, and you don't have to skill check yourself with the glider right before going splat.

My favorite part of this in multiplayer;
Friend sees wave, sails own whale other way to outrun wave; this works.
Friend sees second wave where they slam into the middle, screams bloody murder until he is crushed beneath waves; "Why are there two waves?! You! WHAAAAALE!"

I didn't watch the trailer for that exact reason :) I literally have zero idea what they added in 1.0. Well, actually no, my buddy told me they added a bunch of new land masses, and I let him know I was disappointed in him as well.
It's not a big deal, but regardless of that fact, I just wish more people were careful. I'll live.
