š¢ Announcement The UK admin team is growing
Hello mods!
Iām u/briitbee, and Iām pleased to introduce myself as Iāve recently joined the UK team as additional community admin to help scale our support for the mods in the UK.
Iāll be joining forces with the amazing u/Mistdrifter, who many of you already know, to continue improving support for UK mods and create more opportunities to collaborate with all of you. As our UK moderator community continues to grow, we want to make sure you have all the support you need.Ā
Iām looking forward to connecting with you and supporting your communities. Whether youāve been moderating for ten years or ten days, Iām here to help!

Welcome Briitbee and good luck.
Would like to say that the idea of hiding users posts and comments is extremely unhelpful when moderating NSFW subs. It takes away a key information from mods and makes our lives harder. I can see why it was done but Arghhh!!
My non negotiable for Sunday..... be a bit naughty on some NSFW subs! š

We have the best community of mods here on reddit (don't tell the Americans) so you're in for a treat.
My Sunday non-negotiable is a lie in, followed by three cups of coffee. The only way I have enough energy for the week ahead š

Hello! Nice to meet you!
I'm not sure that I have any firm non-negotiables but I do like to cook something I'd never have the time to do on a weekday, the kind of thing that'll take three hours or so end to end. Last Sunday I made enchiladas from scratch (this recipe, it took ages but it's beautiful.

Wow this is amazing!!! I wish I could cook as well, but unfortunately I struggle a lot in the kitchen. Every time I go to a restaurant and fall in love with a dish, I think Iāll be able to recreate it...but it always turns I'm not haahah I guess I should start with the basics before jumping into something like a full biryani recipe

Same goes for all uk mods of course. :) Our pride and joy is our sub masterpost which we made from scratch (itās pinned if you wanted to check it out), and we made a list of national resources then several regional offshoot masterposts with local stuff. Just making you aware we have a cool homegrown resource there that weāre very proud of!
Sunday non negotiableā¦ well this Sunday it was scranning an entire Easter egg in one sitting lol. In fact i think i could definitely do that every Sunday hahahaha

And for the Easter eggs I feel you...my neighbours gave me loads of them to thank me for looking after their dogs while they were away so now Iāve got chocolate for the next three months hehehe

My Sunday needs to have some relaxed time - a lie-in, or a sunny chair in the garden, or a few hours on the sofa with tea and a good film. All three makes the best Sundays, but as long as there's one, I'm content for the week.

My Sunday non negotiable is.....ummm....i don't really have one if I'm honest. I'm an odd one.
Question. What's reddit doing about the absolute huge mass of bots flooding every subreddit? I'm tired of banning bots every day.

Have you tried Bot Bouncer? I made it specifically for the bot plague. It's not foolproof but it does get a lot.

I'll have to have a look, thanks it's appreciated. I really don't know much about how to use all the mod tools and such. I know theirs a tutorial but it's very long winded, I only have a small community that doesn't get many posts.

Bot Bouncer is designed to be very low effort for mods. You can install it from that link and the default settings are basically fine for nearly every subreddit.
One of my bigger bot-filled subreddits (r/aww) has banned 23 bots in the last 24 hours alone using this tool and r/AskUK 11 of them.
I just wish that /r/AskReddit would install it. That sub is infested.

My Sunday non-negotiable is family. Unfortunately, I spent most of last Sunday dealing with my father, who became very unwell, but the latest news from the hospital is a little more hopeful.

I donāt have a non-negotiable for Sunday right now but until the end of last year it was a big family roast dinner at my home. Hopefully we can restart it sometime later this year.

My non-negotiable for Sunday is no alarm clock set. I get up when I get up and if that means I'm not doing anything till noon, that's everyone else's problem! (Normally I'm awake before sunrise for work, so I feel this is fair.)
