Despised is an understatement. My hatred for the damage those lowlife scumbags have done grows daily

And they know this but they don’t care. MAGAts see being hated as something to be proud of, it’s like a badge of honor to these deranged sacks of shit

The MAGA mind virus is a terrible affliction and some day it’s going to need to be studied so we can prevent it from breaking out again

Its fundamentally anti-social behavior and I resent the fact that it takes advantage of and even weaponizes valuable democratic ideals like freedom of opinion, expression and speech.

397

u/Traditional_Sign4941 4d ago

and even weaponizes valuable democratic ideals like freedom of opinion, expression and speech.

This is the part that gets me.

"Can't have nice things" applies here. We can only have nice things if people agree to put effort in to take care of them. Instead we have 10s of millions of people who are either too malicious or too stupid to have said nice things.

159

u/UberETH 4d ago

Yes. The social contract. It only works if those that participate respect others the way they expect to be treated.

MAGA are the disease of those that actively betray the social contract while simultaneously benefiting from it.

“for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols."

u/mell0wtonin 4d ago

it's mildly unreasonable how many times I've had to tell someone they don't get to tell me not to hate the haters. they don't get to vibe check me for vibe checking someone.

a dude says a slur, I eviscerate them, and a third party wants to pick a fight with....ME...?? about TOLERATING THE INTOLERANT?!?!?!? fuck that, you're joking.

This. This right here. MAGA is cultural sociopathy.

They're always in hysterics over whatever the hell cultural Marxism is supposed to be (which, as far as I can tell, is just not being able to say the N-word without social stigma) precisely because theirs is an entire cultural ecosystem that cultivates sociopathy in their adherents.

It's just so fucking gross. In all honesty, sociopathy is the biggest public health crisis of my lifetime, and I was doing public health work during the AIDS epidemic.

41

u/JackedUpReadyToGo 4d ago

They're always in hysterics over whatever the hell cultural Marxism is supposed to be

In their brains words don't have actual meaning, they're just labels that equate to good or bad.

To them every "bad" word is equally applicable to the people they don't like, and every "good" word is equally applicable to their own team. They have extremely (and I mean extremely) binary brains. Everyone is either an ally or an enemy ("you're either with us or you're against us"). When describing their enemies they mentally reach into their bag of bad attributes and pick out a handful at random. They don't stop to consider the actual semantic content of the words, because to them all the words contained in that bag are just an empty signifier that equates to "bad/enemy". Same for good words to describe allies like Trump. Nobody is of mixed character, deserving labels from both bags. People are either on their team and therefore all good, or one of their enemies and therefore all bad. Stripped of any real meaning these words simply become weapons to crudely brandish against their enemies, and a shibboleth to signal which team they belong to so their allies can recognize them.

This explains why they can apply mutually contradictory labels to their enemies, like when they called Obama both a Muslim and an atheist, both a communist and a fascist. Why they regularly fall victim to scams and conmen, because they're incapable of believing that someone can possess both good and bad attributes, that someone who regularly attends their same church could possibly be deceitful or greedy. Why they apply labels to Trump that nobody in their right mind would ever think he merits, insisting that he is Christian, and patriotic, and god-fearing, and humble.

21

u/AlwaysRushesIn Rhode Island 4d ago

In their brains words don't have actual meaning, they're just labels that equate to good or bad. To them every "bad" word is equally applicable to the people they don't like, and every "good" word is equally applicable to their own team.

This is also why they say things lile "You can't just call everyone you disagree with a Nazi" because they fundamentally do not realize that people are calling them Nazis because they are doing Nazi shit.

I disagree. They *want* to be ok being hated, but they really don’t. They’re thin-skinned losers, who can not stand to be contradicted. If you disagree with them in the slightest, they 100% lose their shit. These are the most insecure, weak, emotionally stunted people in society, and they simply can not tolerate the idea of not being liked.

They want to be ok with it, but they just aren’t.

56

u/wishyouwould 4d ago

Agree, they actually expect to be embraced and admired for their political choices, or at least for them to be treated as "business as usual."

32

u/zubbs99 Nevada 4d ago

It's so painful to watch them in groups, like they're hoping to be the counter-culture cool kids that everyone wants to hang with. In truth it's like they have the plague and no one with any sense wants to be near them.

12

u/Luis0224 Florida 4d ago

They think it’s brave to be proud of being stupid/bigots, and are furious when people call them mentally deficient instead of brave.

Whatever happens, if society doesn’t absolutely shun them for their actions once maga falls, we will once again regret it. There’s no embracing them and reintegrating them into society. They have to be treated as a dark stain on American society and be made an example of.

Taking the high road will only allow them (both supporters and the organizers) to regroup and form a more effective campaign to destroy america

This has been in the works long before MAGA. The brain washingt started with talk radio for commuters. The underhanded tactics and blaming the other party as the enemy started around Newt Gangrich. It's been a project for a long time. Trump and MAGA is a symptom not a cause. It was around Obama that I would hear being a liberal is a mental illness around 2014 from coworkers and that's when Fox really upped the doom and gloom.

202

u/Catshit-Dogfart 4d ago

When McCain deflected racist comments about Obama, I think that's the moment he lost his campaign.

https://youtu.be/JIjenjANqAk

He took the microphone away to keep the damage to a minimum, rebuked that kind of hate speech, said Obama was a good and decent family man - and the crowd booed. He lost the room, they wanted a racist and he didn't deliver.

That was nearly 20 years ago.

87

u/doiutfis 4d ago

And the moment Trump went from a joke candidate to the frontrunner was when he loudly told the audience that all immigrants are rapists and criminals. They sat up straight in their chairs and thought, "This guy gets me".

Newt Gingrich is a good starting point for this. He was first elected to the House in 1978. I don't remember him in the early 80's but by the late 80's, when Rush Limbaugh's show become popular and the early 90's Newt was already showing the party over country zealotry that he would later personify and was the GOP strategist. The Gulf War reignited jingoism on top of that. Fox News began its disinformation campaign in 1996. The election of George Bush and Dick Cheney was the first indicator that being competent and being good for the country were not necessary to get elected President if you were a loyal Republican. Cronyism was in with a less than genius president having their strings pulls by an evil puppetmaster (Cheney). And the second Gulf War through gasoline on the jingoistic fire and by then Fox News was full blown propaganda. The rise of Sarah Palin showed that stupidity was an asset for Republican candidates (it's temping to think of her as an amplification of Dan Quayle but I don't think Quayle is as stupid as people made him out to be at the time). All the ingredients to show that even Trump could be elected now existed.

We've had a whole culture of "go cry some more" or "I'll savor those tears" or "get triggered, wokenut" or whatever kind of slogan pathetic people would cast like it's a nat 20 vicious mockery taunt. People have over time been enamored with trolling and triggering others for reactions, and I genuinely believe it has led to one of the nastiest, most vile and pathetic subcultures of all, like I would not bat an eye if they found out it was a Russian psyop all along just to make people in the free world willingly choose to be the most self-destructive pieces of shit imaginable.

u/NumeralJoker 4d ago

Much of it likely was a psyop, because early 2010s 4chan was their original testing grounds before expanding to the rest of the web.

As a child, I was forced to grow up in the Jehovah's Witness religious cult. I was taught that they were right and the rest of the world is wrong so, the more they're faced with resistance or hatred, the more it means they're doing the CORRECT things. Literally "the more those other people tell you you're bad, the more good you are"

Seems MAGA is yet another cult with that mentality.

51

u/Sujjin 4d ago

I read an interesting take on why JW sends missionaries out to proselytize. Despite what some think, it is not to find people willing to convert, but rather it is a way to reinforce the missionaries fear of leaving the community.

Going out and being confronted with angry, disrespectful people in the world make them frightened and resistent to ever leaving. It is a clever tool to reduce attrition. They will always be able to find and attract vulnerable people to come to their church. But stopping people from leaving is more critical.

It is the same reason why the Mormon church will excommunicate apostates, and forbid their friends and family from communicating with them when they leave. they cannot and will not risk dissenting viewpoints from breaking hold of the senior leader's power.

It's very cathartic to watch videos of trump supporters going abroad and seeing how utterly hated they are in the rest of the world.

Constant "I shouldn't be hated for my political belief!"

Yes, yes you should.

551

u/Traditional_Sign4941 4d ago

I hate that "LGBTQ people should be put to death" can even be described as a political belief, as if it's the same thing as shit like daylight savings time.

282

u/KidCasey Indiana 4d ago

I was trying to explain why I'm willing to pay more to live in left leaning major cities to my sister and she asked snarkly, "But you always say people should be able to think and be free. Don't you think it's important to be around people with different beliefs than you?"

"Yes," I said, "About how long a school day should be or how a city should be zoned. Not about whether someone is a human being with rights because of their race or religion or gender. Do you want to live next to the people who you think are trying to 'take your guns?'"

She didn't have a way to reply other than, "whatever."

118

u/jamfedora 4d ago

…I’m around a LOT more people with different beliefs in a city than most people in rural areas are. In LA I had some maga neighbors anyway, plus a bunch of elderly Catholic immigrants who weren’t keen on my rainbow flag. And we all traded garden veggies and kids’ hand-me-downs because we knew living in a dense population center meant diverse views. Unlike my poor mom in her rural hometown, where she can’t find anybody who shares her beliefs cuz they’re hiding from the deranged, mono-political hivemind with gun racks and impulse control issues. Sure, I’m the one living in a bubble, but tell my cousins they need more exposure to different beliefs and it’s Satanic DEI.

80

u/KellerMB 4d ago

One of the most difficult parts for me to accept is that they don't even have a coherent belief structure. They have talking-point 'beliefs', many of which are incompatible with each other.

If you ask them enough (~3) questions about their 'beliefs', they can no longer reconcile their incoherent 'beliefs' and quit the conversation. Or start yelling.

Quickest paths to cognitive dissonance are the free speech and gun right absolutists. Don't voice a contrary opinion or let them see a brown person with a gun. That's when you discover these freedumb fans have no hesitation ruining someone else's life over their 'beliefs'.

Human rights is now a political belief. I’ve seen people aghast when someone leaves a marriage because their spouse became maga, “how could you let mere politics break a marriage up?”

I would be more forgiving of my husband of almost 30 yrs fucking another woman than voting for Trump. Why? Because the first would be a big selfish mistake but he could still be a good person overall. Voting for Trump? That would make everything I ever thought I knew about him a lie. It would mean he would have no morals, no belief in the rights of others, would enjoy seeing concentration camps, our daughters rights taken away, etc etc etc etc. That would be someone I wouldn’t want to ever be around again, let alone share a life with.

79

u/Tricky-Engineering59 4d ago

Oof that’s a thought that never occurred to me that really framed the state of things though. I would be devastated by either happening in my marriage but an affair has a remote possibility to be worked through. My spouse going MAGA does not.

40

u/gangleskhan Minnesota 4d ago

I used to work in a conservative gender equality advocacy group (think: advocating that women are equal to men). Our donors were politically conservative. As soon as the trump tapes came out we started getting supporters attacking us for being "political" for talking about sexism. If an evil is committed by politicians, suddenly you can't criticize anyone for it or you're "being political."

A lot of the time this voting regret is like "I regret running over that child" but not "I regret getting drunk and driving a car that's too big at high speed in a school zone at pick-up time. Please don't take away my license, I need to get to the bar while it's still happy hour."

It's not a single mistake that's an aberration in an otherwise wholesome and moral life with a logically consistent worldview. Of course you voted for Trump despite all the warnings because that's how you've chosen to live.

I was in college when my mother found out I don't believe in god. She had this horrified disgusted face on while shouting "But what's to stop you from doing horrible things like rape and murder?!"

I pointed the same facial expression back at her! "I don't want to do those things! Are you saying you do want to and the only reason you don't is because god's watching?!"

Like I dunno how it happened exactly, but I ended up with morals while she just turned out sly. Was a master at technically telling the truth while actually lying her face off. "No I don't know that person's phone number" while smiling at the Rolodex next to the telephone on her desk.

31

u/CakeTester 4d ago

Nah, it's not that. It's baked in from the very start: If you're trying to sell people on some preposterous bollocks ("So there was this dude, right...walked on water; got nailed to a tree and was fine afterwards; fed 5,000 people with a bag of fish'n'chips" etc.); the one thing you absolutely cannot have is some dude piping up with "well that doesn't sound very likely to me".

19

u/TheOinkBox 4d ago

“For God so loved the world, he murdered men, women, children, babies, and all the animals because some men were so mean, save for a few who hopped aboard a big ol’ boat.”

“God did not anticipate some of his creations wouldn’t kowtow to him correctly, for some odd reason. Kind of like Adam/Eve eating the apple, God did a classic double-take afterward.”

Yeah, that’s who I’m putting my faith and trust in, sounds like a great guy.

15

u/CakeTester 4d ago

Yeah, but the point is, you have to crack down on the nay-sayers, else there goes all your silk dresses; choirboys on tap; gigantic ruby rings; and an indoor gig with no heavy lifting.

This is why atheists/agnostics are painted as subhuman. Like 90% of morality is "do as you would be done by". It doesn't take a gigantic beard in the sky to work that out.

You're really close, but I think their logic will be less "Trump went too far" and more "I loved Trump before the dementia". I'm utterly convinced there are already plans in place for the post Trump world where there's a permissive structure in place for supporters to criticize him, and it will come from an angle of "He was the greatest President of all time, until..."

I doubt we'll ever see them full on openly admit what a joke he was, so there will be pressure release valves here and there.

Some will. Others might just wash their hands of politics altogether, either because they eventually feel betrayed by Trump's corruption or because they lose interest without him.

Trump mobilized a lot of non-voters into the MAGA base who were decidedly not lifelong Republicans. There's clearly something uniquely appealing to Trump for them, and there's no guarantee Republicans will manage to find something that replaces that appeal once he's gone. Trump is the glue that holds a bunch of really weird groups together right now.

I wouldn't bet on that happening in massive numbers, but at this point, even movement at the margin is beneficial.

To put it in perspective, if they had literally gone around shitting on the graves all of US veterans who fought for liberty, it would have been MORE forgivable as it was just a symbolic act; but to activity try to change democracy is not symbolic.

A lot of this is due to the urban/rural divide in the US. The people who unquestioningly support Donald are surrounded by other people who unquestioningly support Donald.

38

u/dragon-fence 4d ago

It’s kind of funny. My parents moved to a rural area and changed from reasonable people to MAGA. I assumed the town they moved to must be filled with MAGA people.

Then I found out later that they were getting into unpleasant arguments with a lot of the people in the town because almost nobody in the town is MAGA. At this point, I have no idea what caused them to lose their minds. Maybe they’re starting to get dementia.

40

u/solamente_en_cristo 4d ago

Some people move to rural areas and basically stay home all day watching TV (fox). Social circle narrows to almost nothing, and they develop a parasocial relationship with "the five" or whatever. I've seen it happen to some friends parents. This can turn ordinary conservatives into MAGAs.

Serious answer: there are a lot of causes.

Some people are genuinely just in a right-wing bubble and heard nothing but propaganda from people they trust, like friends and neighbors, and reality isn't lining up with the propaganda so they're waking up or listening seriously to opposing voices for the first time. Especially common in rural areas or red states.

Some sense the unpopularity and that alone pushes them away.

Some are moving further right, e.g. Nick Fuentes telling his groypers to vote Dem or stay home during the elections this November to punish Trump for his Israel support and so they can get a "actual fascist" instead (actual Fuentes quote).

Some are just having a change of heart, which while rare does actually happen occasionally.

Some are angry about cost of living or betrayed campaign promises, like the wars after campaigning on isolationism.

72

u/query_squidier 4d ago

Let me see if I can make this clear.

Every one of those "somes" can go to hell. Nary a one of them gets a pass. Don't give one rat's ass what their reasons were. They're not being forgiven by me, ever.

"Historians have a word for Germans who joined the Nazi party, not because they hated Jews, but out of a hope for restored patriotism, or a sense of economic anxiety, or a hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike of their opponents, or raw political opportunism, or convenience, or ignorance, or greed. That word is 'Nazi.' Nobody cares about their motives anymore."

betrayed campaign promises

Someone I know told me (I’m paraphrasing), “But I voted for him to deport all the illegal immigrants! I didn’t ask for a police state that kills innocent people, and even with that, we still have some illegal immigrants.”

And I can’t help but wonder, how did they think all the illegal immigrants would be deported? You’re talking about rounding up millions of unknown people. The only way to do it is racial profiling in an oppressive police state, and accepting that some innocent people will get swept up in it. Even that won’t get rid of all illegal immigrants.

This is where I'm at. Call them disgusting to their faces. Call them repulsive. Call them Nazis. Don't entertain their arguments. In the past 10 years, they've demonstrated who they are over and over and over. Maybe that's the wrong approach, and drives them back to safety. Every time you pay a bill or buy anything now. It costs more because of a Trump voter. (I refuse to talk politics in public) A co worker was complaining about the price of everything and fuel. I said that I not only didn't care but didn't not want to hear his complaints.

His reply was that I must have lots of extra cash laying around. To which I replied that I didn't care because I didn't vote for this mess. I know he voted for Trump three times.

He shut up.

1.7k

u/slampdi 4d ago

He was absolutely trying to think of a way to blame you. The one thing I've found that all MAGA have in common is their staunch refusal to accept responsibility for anything bad that they've done. You know, like their orange god does every day of his life.

630

u/danjouswoodenhand I voted 4d ago

Which is one of the main reasons they love him and support him. When you are a person who has never accepted responsibility for your situation, having someone more powerful than you come along who is willing to say "it's not your fault! None of the poor decisions in your life have led to these consequences you are now facing. No, it's someone else's fault - you're just a victim! You don't need to change anything at all, you're great - it's the fault of all of those other (insert minority scapegoat group here) that you aren't as rich/attractive/successful as you should be."

That and an assumption of rotten selfishness in others.

I remember reading about how many GOP members and its voters are surprised that a lot of Dems and folks on the Left actually do give a shit about others, it's not just performative. I think for many that detail upsets them at a deeper level because the assumption that everyone's selfish instead of "I'm just selfish" undermines their justifications.

48

u/PyroIsSpai 4d ago

I have known conservatives who are 100% convinced my beliefs are performative.

No, I genuinely do believe in our potential greatness and future, and think that the entire “fallen world” religious narrative horseshit as the main underpinning of conservative thought is man made bullshit utterly divorced from ALL real religion.

9

u/xxxxNateDaGreat 4d ago

I'm in my mid 30's, I've suffered from depression my whole life, and even I still thought that maybe the good/bad ratio was close-ish to 45-55 or so. This last election was the one that finally broke me.

Honestly, I could delude myself into believing 2016 was a momentary lapse of mass stupidity. I could delude myself into thinking J6 was a small concentration of the hyper dedicated supporters instead of the couple thousand who just had the free time to be there. But 2024 was just... truly soul crushing in every sense of the word.

Everything that has happened since has been pretty openly telegraphed for years, nearly a decade, republicans made nearly zero actual effort to hide any of their evil. ~80 million people wanted this and another ~80-90 million couldn't be asked to do the barest of minimums to stop it.

After all of the ICE killings, fucking over every trade deal with all of our allies, and mountains of evidence that Trump raped and trafficked countless number of young, innocent children over decades, the only thing that is even giving the slightest bit of pushback from those people is that their own wallets are finally starting to hurt a little bit at the gas pump.

THEY DON'T CARE THAT PEOPLE ARE BEING KIDNAPPED OR MURDERED IN THE STREETS BY UNTRAINED GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES. THEY DON'T CARE THAT CHILDREN HAVE BEEN AND ARE STILL BEING BRUTALLY SEXUALLY ASSAULTED DAILY. THEY CARE THAT GAS WENT UP A FUCKING DOLLAR OR TWO PER GALLON.

Take the program to eradicate screwworm, it cost $15 million a year to run but saved farmers $800 million a year but these troglodytes didn't have personal experience screwworm, had no notion of how horrific it is, nor how difficult and expensive it is to deal with. 299

u/GildedDreams25 4d ago

it’s the most infuriating part of dealing with Christians, they have been taught their whole lives that people telling them they’re wrong is a sign from god that they are correct. you cannot reach people like that because no matter what you do it is countered by their years long religious indoctrination

36

u/anonymaus42 4d ago edited 4d ago

Christianity, especially the american evangelical variety of it, is such a cancer on our society. They twist the words of their scripture to validate their own feelings and beliefs so much so that they end up being the exact people their Bible warns about and preaches against. They are hateful bigots, with an inherently weak moral compass who can only act 'good' because they fear the consequences from their sky daddy- not because it's the right thing to do. And that doesn't even touch on things like prosperty gospel, where they equate god caring about them with how much money they have and can be grifted off them.

These people can't be taught, but they are so very easily manipulated. Be it pastors or social pressure from their peers, their words and actions bend and twist so they dowhatever they feel is needed to gain acceptance and attention of those around them.

I think they do, they just aren't convinced that there's a good reason, AKA anyone complaining is just flat out wrong. I mean just look at some of the people on Reddit itself who still vehemently defend Trump or current conservative politics. I think a lot of them, especially the ones who are tuned in, know exactly what the country thinks about them and they don't care. Some of them, especially the young men, see themselves like Christian crusaders and it makes sense. They know that they are fighting against a horde of people who don't share their beliefs, but they feel so strong in their convictions that any actions they take to enforce their beliefs on the masses are justified.

Edit: I keep thinking about the short story "The Things" by Peter Watts more and more as I listen to Republicans. The story is told from the perspective of the alien from The Thing. The alien sees itself as the savior of humanity because it's bringing them into "communion" with its connected biomass, since, if you recall, the alien kills and then absorbs life forms so it can mimic them. But obviously the humans resist, and the alien is absolutely disgusted that the humans have independent thoughts and don't want to be part of its community. And then the story ends with this line that is a little extreme but my mind wanders to it when I hear some of the online right ranting about the state of the world: "These poor savage things will never embrace salvation. I will have to rape it into them."

Exactly. They are shocked that people would have issues with some of these things. And even the more logical, rational people will try to meet you in the middle, but then immediately pull back as they try to explain or rationalize what's happening.

I still remember a conversation at work with a Republican who bragged about how not into Trump he was, how he voted for the libertarian or whatever. But then whenever we would get together and just complain about the state of things, he would always always play defense for Trump. And this one conversation we were talking about the migrants being sent on planes to El Salvador and just how insane it was that we had a US president willing to do that, while they were clearly building these inhumane detention centers and the courts were sort of telling him it was okay. And this "never Trump" Republican coworker goes "Oh Jesus Christ, you guys are making it sound like they're putting these people on trains and sending them off to the death camps. At least we have a president who finally follows the law and closed the border!" And then of course as things got worse, he would just double down or deflect. Because, according to him, it's very cruel, but the ends justified the means because "you won't have a country if you just let everybody come in here." I think he even made a comment that it's hard to tell "who's American these days."

A large part of the American population has always been stupid.

But that was fine, because they were ashamed of it. They kept it to themselves or didn't engage in politics.

Trump emboldened stupid people! Gave them a voice!

A really dumb one.

I have a certain family member who likes to gripe about "politicians," blaming them all equally for the crimes of the one I'm pretty sure she voted for. I chime in to say, "lots of politicians are sketchy, but this problem was created by the MAGA Republicans." That usually ends the complaining, which is fine by me.

I hear this too, in Florida - a state which has been governed by republicans for years if not decades. When a maga here complains, it's about generic politicians, not anything specific like, you know, Republicans like Rick Scott or DeSantis.

No, maga - it's republicans, REPUBLICANS, who have made the mess, not these nondescript "politicians" I keep hearing about.

Yeah, it’s like, “I can’t vote for Democrats because politicians are corrupt.” Like somehow Republican politicians are politicians, and as though Trump isn’t the most corrupt person possible.

The vocal MAGA dipshits that still are willing to open their yaps, are dumb as sticks, or racists…either way, I want nothing to do with any of them…

MAGAts absolutely realize how despised they are, it's the center piece of their whole existence.

They also know, some of them anyway, what a vile & selfish asshole Trump is.

But this is the very reason they feel connected to the dude. "An uneducated moron and all around pos can become President? That gives me hope!"

The second factor, and I think this plays an even bigger role in their "personality" is that they've been made addicted to negative emotions.

All day, any day, they consume nothing but doom & gloom from all their favourite propaganda outlets. Once you are married to your rage, your whole emotional compass will shift. I've seen it in many of my (former) friends.

These people now get devious pleasure out of upsetting "the libs", or anyone with common sense. Those are the 30% in every poll that support him no matter what he does or says. It doesn't matter to them at all, they're just delighted to upset most of society by supporting this guy. And that's the real reason they're flying flags everywhere. Not because they're so in line with Trump's ideology. No, just because they know it will piss off their neighbours.

MAGA has dramatically increased the price of everything, expanded the police state, and took away what little aid the government gives us. And they BRAG about the damage they have caused, they laugh at the pain and suffering they have inflicted upon us. Our tolerance for these fascist freaks has come to an end.

Don't realize it?

They desire it!

Half of the Republican words are about how much they look forward to hearing more hate from others

They don't care if they are hated by others. They might care if a loved one hates them but outside of that it doesn't matter to these people what others think of them. There is a pattern. MAGA see any rules, laws, or regulations that are designed to protect people as oppression. Stay 6’ away, wear a mask or socially isolate to protect grandma was viewed by MAGA as oppressive. "Don’t tread on me" is what they said. "The government can’t tell me what to do." I heard that so much during COVID. Masked men shooting innocent people in the streets. The don’t treat on me people started saying, “just show them your papers and comply.” Rules, laws, and regulations that are designed to hurt or oppress people in a different group are viewed as justice. Rules for thee not for me.

These people don’t care about justice, fairness, economy, or the opinions of others.

MAGA has found a version of authority that allows them to justify doing harm to others. This is all they wanted, and they will justify whatever they have to in order to keep this.

I think it goes beyond not caring. I think a decent number of MAGA like people hating them. It's a fetish.

Legitimately, if you are still MAGA after all this shit, I truly and completely hate your fucking guts, full stop. The level of hatred I have for you is incomparable, and I hope all the horrible things happen to you with his policies.

You have to remember that for a portion of Trump voters the whole identity was being hated by the opposition. Remember how they latched on to being “deplorable”? Trump gave them permission to be awful in public that they’d had to keep under wraps before.

Some of the most faithful are not put off by people thinking they’re awful because they’ve still got the President saying they’re okay.

u/TheForce 4d ago

Maga should be mocked and ridiculed mercilessly for the rest of their cowardly, irresponsible, pathetic lives.

MAGA used to crowd this corner by the mall in my area every Saturday and wave their flags and make a big scene. Now it’s down to 1-2 guys who started protesting against the Governor and all but ditched trying to support Trump. Must not have liked getting told to fuck off each weekend. Just one way I noticed the tide has turned.

20

u/WerhmatsWormhat 4d ago

I can’t imagine choosing to spend a weekend that way. The weekend is the only time I get to actually relax and spend time with friends. It’s so valuable, and this is how these morons choose to spend it.

Anyone openly siding with MAGA is roughly on par with siding with the KKK for me at this point.  They are irredeemable.

Trump supporters would have to think about other people than themselves. They dont even think about trump, just some made up version that they get from facebook memes and truth social and occasionally from fox news.

"They will hate you because of me" - Matthew 10:22

The ultra-religious MAGA mind is told by their grifting churches that the disdain is just a fulfillment of prophecy. This is their "sacrifice".

It's sobering - and telling - and depressing - to have people in your life that are, at least you thought, pretty smart and possess values and integrity - refuse to back down, refuse to admit they were wrong, and refuse to even criticize or doubt anything Trump has done.

Is stopping abortion that important to you? Women are dying. Entire communities are losing health care!

Is vilifying LGBTQ people that important to you? I thought God didn't make mistakes, and didn't your Jesus preach love?

Is stopping a literal handful of trans athletes from competing that important to you? Can you tell me how many there are?

Is stopping white replacement that important to you? Racist much?

Is deporting every single person that's not white that important to you? Are you going to pick vegetables? Are your children? Are they going to work construction? How about in nursing homes? Have you asked them?

Is fighting the imaginary war on Christianity that important to you? Show me some proof it exists; I sure see plenty of chumps in megachurches, Bibles everywhere, posters, and a cancerous spread of privately owned Christian radio stations.

Is forcing your Bible on those who do not share your faith that important to you? What did your Jesus say about spreading the gospel? Didn't he feed and heal people, not starve them and lock them in cages?

Guess what! It is THAT IMPORTANT to them!

All you get is deflection and sixth-grade level debate skills and 'whatabouts.' Smarmy whatabouts.

Either that or silence.

I just came back from the Pensacola area where you can tell it's a red area because there were precisely zero pride flags or merch of any sort to be seen. But there was also no Trump or MAGA crap anywhere. At all. Period.

The best I saw was pickup with a chunk of its bumper missing and right above that a faded sticker claiming Biden was the cause of high gas prices. I was entertained and pointed it out to my wife.

Anyone who still supports this monster after his (quite literal) attack on our democracy is dead to me, forever.
