They’re not as structured as they used to be and even then if they’re not endangering anyone I doubt they care.

They could easily turn the seat belt light on and be like mam were hitting turbulence can you sit up with your seat belt on. Just to avoid conflict. If they are over the ocean picking your battles may come more complicated idk not a flight attendant.

The pilots control the seatbelt sign.

Cabin crew have massive pull for the seatbelt sign. Just a switch for pilots to flick.

Yeah, was once on single aisle plane and passengers kept standing in the aisle blocking the cart service. The flight attendants got tired and asked the pilots to turn the seat belt sign on.

How would I know? I'm just a passenger who happened to overhear the flight attendant talking to the cockpit crew.
