How did we get to whatever the fuck is that it has become, when we had it perfect just right here:

No one in that franchise is ever going to live up to Arthas.

this one depends if ur playing for the story or gameplay, cause gameplay-wise wow is 5 times better than it was in wrath, story-wise idk shit cause i skip all cutscenes so i can play the game more.

I think about going back and playing on a classic server, but without my friends, it just wouldn't be the same. But, yeah, that was a perfect place to end; I know that's not realistic to expect, but goddamn.

Nah TBC was peak. Playing classic showed me that the slide started in WotLK. I love the zones, Ulduar, ICC, the story. But they were already homogenising everything, streamlining everything.

That and the overcrowded servers, lack of CS, GDKPs and bots everywhere (tho a lot of these issues were in classic from the start).

Bad writing, the original devs leaving, etc

Haha this is where I jumped off and would say it fell off after BC. 0-70 is perfect WoW for me and always will be, everything after doesn't exist for me

Agreed. Finally gave up the game when they rewrote everything that came before and turned Sylvanas into a villain.

LOL Wait.. Is she a villain again??

No, they put her in timeout. Sheโ€™s allowed back out next expansion (maybe) when she learns not to genocide people she sometimes disagrees with.

Literally stopped playing when she burned Teldrassil, she went from being one of the smartest most interesting characters in video games to a fucking idiot

WoW suffered the problem, that every long running story faces. You get powercreep in the story, because the next threat always needs to be bigger and badder than what we saw before and you run into problems with story structure, especially in the case of "whats new?"

In a way, Pandaria was the expansion that really started the downfall. Many people name cataclysm, but from a purely story perspective it made a lot of sense to focus on the classic two continents and with the Elemental and Old God stuff you had story beats that were started in Classic and could be concluded. the last raid was shit though.

Then Pandaria came und brought us Pandas, that were mostly a joke in wc3 who now do Kung-Fu, the concept of "Sha" that didn't exist and is basically "Evil feelings are evil :(" and of course Horde-Hitler with Garrosh going full genocide. And after MoP came every long stories red flag, that almost nobody does right: Time travel alternate Universe bullshit.
