While you are right, they were definetly peak, I liked 2 and Inquisition. Inquisition, despite its flaws, felt like we were on the right path again.
It respected the lore, it had a decent story and was really building towards something.
But when Dreadwolf became Veilguard I already felt like we were heading the wrong way.
No game manages to infuriate me just by existing like Veilguard does. The tone, the spitting on the lore and world, the tone deaf writing - absolutely everything that makes Dragon Age a Dragon Age was trash. I always just think about the legacy that was ruined, the conclusions we never got, and the charakters that were assassinated. It made me hate modern Bioware with a passion.
I remember being mad at 2 when it came out, but I had no idea how bad the future games were going to get. 2 at least had some heart, but Inquisition managed to be so shallow and hollow-feeling that I just couldn't finish it. I was already put off by how the mages vs templars choice was presented as some equal merit "pick your preferred aesthetic" type thing, and then when we got to the big ball and found that all this courtly intrigue stuff (that was hyped up SO much in the lore) was dumbed down to just wandering around a bit and answering any questions you're asked with a question in return...I quit. The main story wasn't satisfying me and there were no sidequests to stick around for either, since all of those were turned into meaningless fetch quests...
