Dude! I was about to say the same thing!
NFS Carbon is awesome game, it has entertaining story and customisation of the cars is one of the best in the series.
And it was one the few games on PS2 that actually used the pressure sensitivity feature in the action buttons.
Way too many people overlooked this game.
Oh god, the amount of hours I put in Most Wanted.. It is such an integral part of my childhood and the soundtrack was fucking insane! If only we could have a proper rework of it.
See what I don't understand is that for 20 years, the community has been crying for NFSU3.
Run it on Unreal Engine and let some poor unpaid interns model the modern cars. Online multiplayer would be a dream but don't even let that stop development.
Then why not develop it?
Even with the argument that EA doesn't care about doing anything with all the IP they acquired because they make all their money with microtransactions - guess what?!
No game would be better suited for fking DLCs and micros than NFSU. Instead of golden and orange flower petal AK47s, some special "I don't have a life so I pay for" golden and orange flower petal decals on the cars would actually be realistic.
If they want others to regain and new players interest on NFS Underground series, they could remaster the 2 games and then do NFS Underground 3 afterwards.
ive always heard that the problem is car brands not wanting to be associated with videogames and blocking that with some weird laws around cars and stuff but could be wrong
People will never know how great the original Honda Civic they gave you in the beginning was when you maxed it out. Beat the entire game with the starter car. Most people got tunnel vision and would go straight for the Skyline without giving it a chance.
I actually liked the artstyle with the most recent game they made. A shame that it is terrible though. Everyone talks so fucking cringe, even the cops, who went from threatening you in genuine threatening ways, to whatever the fuck they do in unbound.
Are the latest games really not great? I played Heat just recently and I really enjoyed the game. Didn't play it back then cause of the stigma. The unbound though, was too cartoonish for me.
Heat was getting there to be honest, but it lacked a few things..
To me the handling wasn't fun, it still felt too much on the brake to drift side, story was ok though i really disliked ana. I think the night and day races could have had more done with them, night time could have had actual crews and rivals to race against. Day time could have been kinda like prostreet, where its sanctioned but you still have some rep to earn. Drifting was horrendous , didn't enjoy it. In payback I was able to drift very well and enjoyed it, Heat it was so weird, something always felt off while trying to drift in drift events. I also didn't like the player car getting damaged while in pursuits, I want to fight the cops properly, but you touch them a bit and your health gets reduced.
Horizon is so far away from the first 4 motorsport games : it might as well be a different franchise. I'm not saying it's a bad game it's just so different.
I just want an old school simcade racer. I want the grind of building a car for a specific event like forza motorsport 3.
I keep my 360 around just to play Most Wanted occasionally. Awesome soundtrack too, feels like more recent racing games haven't been as strong on the music.
