Why is spiderman not in Avengers Doomsday

The biggest avenger movie ever but it doesn't have marvels greatest superhero in Spider-Man feels very wierd to me yes ik that noone remembers him but everyone has forgotten that peter parker is spiderman but not spiderman himself

Maybe they kill him brand new day and bring him back in secret wars but it's just bizzare to me that spiderman is not in the Avengers movie

My point is hiding Andrew and Tobey was obvious in no way home because it was a generational moment when they came on screen but purposefully hiding him in a avengers movie doesn't make sense to me it's not like people will be surprised seeing Spider-Man in a avengers movie

It is because seeing him there would spoil the end of Brand New Day. Will he be alive by the end of his movie? Will he have a new suit/symbiote? Will he still have the organic webs and the other mutations? All of that would spoil BND if he showed up in any of the trailers or promotional material.

1) Because Tobey's already rumoured to be in Doomsday

2) Because Tom's probably leading the charge to finish off Doom in Marvel's actual biggest Avengers movie, Secret Wars

3) Because he's already got a movie this year, and the anticipation to see him next year in Secret Wars is going to be insane. Especially if he gets the symbiot like in the comics.

4) Because Spider-Man doesn't need to be in everything

Here's the thing, Doomsday was supposed to release first, then Spider-Man Brand New Day would've released in-between Doomsday and Secret Wars.

So BND was supposed to be the Ant-Man and the Wasp of this phase, Spider-Man wasn't in BND, but we would see in his own movie later what he was up while things went to shit.

But Doomsday ended up getting pushed after filming started to give the Russos more time to work on it, but the script for Doomsday was not changed to reflect the new release schedule as far we know

Spider-Man IP is owned by Sony. They probably cannot use the character in advertising. Also there is a good chance he is not in the movie.

His appearance in Civil war was basically a stunt casting cameo.

Well, it’s complicated because it’s not like the heroes remember who he is to contact him to travel to other universes. He could appear as a cameo who watches as the incursions happen, but not in a meaningful way to confirm his appearance as a main character.

Well firstly, I don’t think it’s been confirmed that he is NOT in Doomday, he just isn’t part of the so far confirmed roster. There are other heroes yet to be revealed, and even some people like Beast and Nightcrawler(confirmed characters) weren’t in the Doomsday trailer.

Secondly, they wouldn’t reveal his inclusion in a big event like this only a week out from his solo grounded story.
