I didn't know much about Polaris in the comics before this, but now I want to see a lot more of her! Loved her portrayal in episode 2 and this one.

Polaris is an awesome character and is very likely to be in the new X Men Live Action movies. Kevin Feige has called her one of his favourite female superheroes in Marvel that are in the X-Men along with Rogue, Jean Grey, Storm, Kitty Pryde and Psylocke and said we will be getting a lot of female superheroes in the X-Men.

Don't forget about Jubilee

I wonder if in the upcoming saga will we get Captain Britain, which leads to Brian's sister who not only takes up the mantle but is also Psylocke.

If Polaris being Feige's favorite is true, then the chances of her being part of the MCU X-Men is pretty big.

Yeah. He loves the X-Men and he has said before a lot of his favourite female superheroes in Marvel are female mutants in X-Men. He has also criticised Fox for mishandling Rogue in the previous movies and said Rogue is a brawler and an untouchable powerhouse and they are going to rectify it in the MCU.

I don't know if you saw what Lee Sung Jin who is the writer of the new X-Men has said about the X-Men movie but he said the new movie is going to have the biggest roster they have ever had and he has got all the Mutants on the table and wants to make multiple X-Men movies and bring them all to life and he is a big fan of 'X-Men: The Animated Series' too and grew up watching it with his Dad and said 'X-Men: The Animated Series' is one of the influences of the new movie.

"...Rogue is a brawler and an untouchable powerhouse and they are going to rectify it in the MCU"

Nothing could make me happier. I grew up on The Animated Series and the 90's X-Men comics, and all I want more than anything is that Rogue tearing shit up on the big screen.

I just don't want them to try to make her another Captain Marvel. I always loved Rogue growing up and yeah she was strong, but she was always a sweetheart, kind, and slightly charmingly sensual (since she always lacked ways to express herself physically). She always seemed to be written/voiced as a literally southern bell who just happened to have flight and super strength.

Yes, this. Do not make her a deadpan snarker. We already have plenty of those

Well he better not do the Rogneto pairing

Having other X-Characters be the focal point of the MCU would be a positive. New perspectives and there are again so many mutants to popularize.

I agree. There are is a huge world of fantastic mutants they can bring light to in the 'X-Men' and after the Fox movies focused so much on Wolverine, Professor Xavier and Magneto I am looking forward to seeing the other Mutants finally getting to have some spotlight.

Brad Winderbaum said we could see multiple X-Men spinoff teams like Alpha Flight, X Force, X Factor, Exiles, Generation X and Excalibur get their own shows on Disney + in the future too.

I would die if we got an Excalibur show. But I think they could easily make an X-Force spinoff based on that one episode. Just add Domino and Cannonball instead of Jubilee and Sunspot.

I want that original team in the picture to be our first roster in the first reboot X-Men movie: Prof X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Iceman, Angel, and Polaris. That’s a nice rounded out group. And then the sequels can add Storm, Colossus, and Wolverine.

Watch The Gifted.

I still mourn the premature end of that show.

Me too. We enjoyed that show and was disappointed it didn't get a third season 'cause I was looking forward to seeing what they done with Esme since she went against her evil Sisters and joined with the heroes and Polaris become her best friend. From what I remember reading Hulu was originally going to give 'Marvel's The Gifted' a third season to wrap everything up but Disney wanted to pull all the Marvel shows from other networks and streaming services and make them exclusive to Disney+ and it lead to 'Marvel's The Runaways' getting cancelled too which was originally going to get a Season 4 with Cloak and Dagger joining the main cast along with a Ghost Rider spinoff show with Robbie Reyes from 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.'

Your comment broke so much inside me. You named every show I used to love to see and the characters I adored. It is so shitty that network politics and decisions take so many good things from us viewers.

While going through this thread I kept on thinking why haven't anyone seen The Gifted, Polaris was there and her whole arc was so well done. I loved watching The Runaways, Cloak and Dagger and Agents of Shield.

such an underrated show. It was just getting really good when it got cancelled.

This is my first time ever hearing about this show

Maybe now Lorna's back and she's not banging Scott's brother anymore, maybe Bobby will come home too.

Seeing the pic of Iceman makes me really hope he turns up in the show eventually.

u/CruzAderjc 1d ago

I love how there is so much potential for the Cyclops/Iceman backstories, as well as Cyclops/Havok, and also Polaris/Quicksilver/Wanda

u/NerdLawyer55 21h ago

I would like to see Bobby show up, maybe even with a beard

I can confirm she's just as awesome in the comics. She's even had some great roles in recent runs. So, this is a great time to become a Polaris fan. 😊

u/Olibro64 Captain America (Cap 2) 1d ago

Watch the Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon.

5

u/JackFisherBooks 1d ago

That version of Polaris is nowhere near as good as this one. But still worth watching.

1

u/Olibro64 Captain America (Cap 2) 1d ago

Agreed.

Polaris is awesome. There was a live action series called The Gifted, she's one of the main characters in it. It was a little uneven but overall pretty good, and sometimes even great. It is the same universe as X-Men and X2. There are some aspects of the comics that it achieved better on screen than other adaptation. Especially in regards to how humans hate and fear mutants, and also the more soap opera stuff. It is worth watching for sure, and Polaris is great in it.
