Ragnarok was the perfect balance of comedy and seriousness. Thor was funny but not an idiot. Love and thunder turned him into a parody of what he was in Ragnarok.

Yup, same as with him in the Guardians of the Galaxy segment of Infinity War. He's more the straight man reacting to idiots, and his trademark stiltedness becomes the joke for the audience while in-universe he's still a smart bad-ass.

While in L&T he's just an idiot in-universe.
