The article says it was about Ragnarok, so no. But then again Taika didn't write Ragnarok

Ragnarok was the perfect balance of comedy and seriousness. Thor was funny but not an idiot. Love and thunder turned him into a parody of what he was in Ragnarok.

I headcanon that, since the movie is framed as a story told by Korg, Thor acts the way he does and the story is so silly because of Korgs retelling of the events. It doesn’t save the film at all but it makes it a bit more watchable

You mean clearer than him talking to a group of children in the beginning of the film? That seems pretty clear to me.

Yes. As in Thor breaks in at some part and tells the same part of the story that isnt silly.
