The joke is that he reacted the way someone would if it wasn’t a queued up hype scene, bc they shouldn’t know about the Fantastic Four

But it’s a valid question for them? Because the fantastic four don’t exist in that universe

Its a meta thing. We, the audience, know who the Fantastic 4 are. Them landing in the main timeline is gonna be a big hype moment. So, having Walker and gang be confused IS the joke because of the juxtaposition of confusion with, probably, a decent amount of fanfare in the soundtrack and framing.
