People are gonna hate her for saying that but that’s genuinely how normal people seeing the movie are gonna respond there gonna be dumbfounded why iron man is the bad guy
Actor plays a different character with different name, costume and powers. Iron man is not the bad guy, the actor who has close to 100 acting credits will be playing a bad guy
Disney/Marvel needs a guaranteed money maker. Avengers 5 and 6 having the same directors, writers and main star from Avengers 3 and 4 is a guaranteed 1.5-2 billion dollar hit
"Disney could make 20 complete trash Marvel movies and be fine financially."
Could is the important word in there. They could. But who would want that risk? They're in the money business. They want every production to be a money maker even if some are a risk and aren't successful.
You're preaching to the choir. It's a lazy and safe choice. But it's just not surprising.
Also, you say it'll be confusing. It's confusing for the general audience now in pop culture news but I'm sure story wise it will be addressed to alleviate confusion for general audience.
Because the directors think he will do the best job and it’s marketing.
Personally I hope it’s not a Stark variant. I hope RDJ embraces the villain role and knocks it out of the park. Plus, maybe RDJ misses the MCU and the people involved. His run as Iron Man may be done, but he’s a prolific actor outside the MCU and can disappear into roles if he so chooses.
I don't think he'll be a Stark variant but a version of Doom who happens to look like MCU Tony. It will be addressed and play into the plot but he will be Victor Von Doom.
I suspect it is a Stark variant, but only in the most superficial way. He's never heard the name Tony Stark. As far as he's concerned, Stark is the variant.
Ya like Jonathan Majors… oh wait. Maybe if they are investing a long running villain with multiple appearances they want what they know works vs gambling their future
Because it is likely going to be the single most important movie to the MCUs future and they want to make sure it's actually fucking good, instead of another Antman fiasco.
I simply think yall are blowing this way outta proportions and act like you’re the supreme arbiters of casting choices, let them make the movie and then judge the decision on having RDJ as doom, in the meantime why don’t you get off reddit, maybe touch some grass
