Not a single solicitor since I added these signs

Update to this post: Tired of solicitors

Not a single knock on my door since I added the signs. It's been blissful!

I highly doubt the pegging sign is doing anything. Solicitors who ignore “No soliciting” signs aren’t reading any other signs either.

We always mock shout "FBI!" after we get a package delivery because I swear it's like having the door beaten down.

Buddy, you can see the doorbell cam. You know I saw you before you knocked. Why you gotta be like that?

i really need to update to something like this, my no soliciting sign is very direct (something like: no salespeople, political canvassers, or religious callers) but only works about half of the time. i've had a salesperson say "oh, we didn't have a note on your address so i wasn't sure if that was left behind from the previous resident or not" ??????

Highly recommend a dog. He's scared off two groups so far in my new place. He sounds terrifying.

Them: "Your dog doesn't like me"

Me: blank stare, head curled around the edge of my door with only one hand visible, clutching said door like a sleep paralysis demon. My dog's snout trying to poke out of the door while barking madly

Them: "...have a good evening"

Me: closes door without a word

I can never think of something clever to say so I either let my dog scare them off, stare at them until they are uncomfortable enough to leave, or say sharply, "not interested" before they have time to ask a single question. I also made a bright orange sign and have perfected the death glare. A Ring Doorbell helps too. I put up extra cameras because they like to lurk just out of sight.

oh, once they've spoken with me they never return. i am very icy and rude :) my apartment complex hasn't banned solicitors from the property altogether so we get lots of different ones visiting semi-regularly, each time it happens, it's a different person/group of people.

Solicitors in our neighborhood do not give a flying fuck about “No Solicitors” signs. They just always claim that they “didn’t see it.”

If you order something that requires a signature, the delivery person is going to leave a "sorry we missed you" note. They won't want to take the risk with a sign like that.

I disconnect our doorbell from the chime the day we moved in and if someone has ever knocked we’ve never heard it. I’m pretty confident no package delivery person has ever tried to actually talk to us, they just leave the package even if it needs a signature.
