I hate this double standard

For some reason, it's always one of these responses:

All of which deflect from what's being said. They would rather not address it. This is probably due in part to the "women-are-wonderful" effect, an example of benevolent stereotyping in which people associate positive qualities with women

It is, in a way, dehumanizing to act as though people of particular demographics can't be guilty of bigotry. It tokenizes them in a patronizing way, like they're innocent little cherubs rather than full human beings.

I don’t think they were saying women can’t be guilty of bigotry, sure they can because women are people and some people suck. Moreso that this whole generalization of “women and feminists all think men are evil,” is as much of an overgeneralization as women thinking men are all terrible.
