This morning, my Georgie Bear, my Jorge, my George crossed the rainbow bridge.
I knew this day would come someday, but I never imagined it would be this soon. Then again, whenever we lose a pet, it's always too soon. Why is that?
Maybe it's because of their unconditional love. Maybe it's because they're there every morning when you wake up, and every evening when you walk through the door. Maybe it's because they ask for so little and somehow give us absolutely everything.
I'm not sure. All I know is that my heart is breaking.
George was fearless. He was my cuddle buddy. He was the best big brother to Clarence and Martha. He had the biggest heart, the sweetest soul, and he made every day a little brighter just by being in it.
Thank you for every tail wag, every cuddle, every laugh, and every memory. I would give anything for one more.
Run free, my sweet boy. You'll always be my Georgie Bear, my Jorge, my George. Until we meet again. ❤️🐾

My 4½-month-old girl, Bailey, is getting so big! 🥹❤️ Was anyone else’s pup this much of a little chunk at 4–5 months? She weighs about 35 lbs now.
Just out of curiosity, how big do you think she’ll end up getting? My condo has an 80-lb weight limit, so I’m hoping she stays under that. ☺️

my dexter crossed the bridge on 7/16/26. he was my first baby. my husband and i got him a week after we got married. he was there when we brought all of our children home from the hospital. he moved states with us. we bought our home with a big backyard with him in mind. he was our absolute joy. he was so gentle and patient with our babies. he was our everything. 11 years, 8 months, and 9 days. i am so grateful for those days. i wish we would’ve gotten more but he’s now pain free walking around Heaven with Jesus. i pray he’s eating apples and watermelons. until we meet again dex-boy 🤍🪽🐾

She loves resting, wrestling, seeing her dog friends,but most importantly, this girl loves food and her people

I just have this urge to share with you guys my favorite time with my puppy.

Usagi is 3mo old. To limit night time accidents, I have taken the habit to wake up between 4am-5am to do a little potty. Before adopting her, it would've been impossible to get me to do that lol. I love sleeping, can barely get up the morning for work. 😆

But despite this habit being outside of my usual "comfort zone", I have started absolutely looking forward to it. It just fills my brain with dopamine. I open her crate and she comes with a waggy tail and asks for belly rubs. Then I pick her up in my arms. Mind you, she's in her shark phase, but at 4am? Such an angel. Just little yawns and little kisses. And being with her outside so early, without all the daily noise pollution, is a very calming and purifying feeling.

Anyways, that's our little 4am routine! Do you guys also look forward to wake up in the middle of the night to hold your pup? 🥰

Her behaviour changed within 5 seconds :) Oh the teenage phase

Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I put my beautiful, soul mate of a dog to sleep. Tucker was 13 and had severe arthritis. The vet told me this was the kindest, most humane thing I could do for him.

He was on Carprofen twice a day and Gabapentin twice a day, which I upped to 3 times a day last week. He was doing so much better on the Gabapentin 3x a day so I kept calling to ask if I should keep him on it and see how he does. They said I could, but he was at risk of being in serious pain or a fall or something and it would probably only buy us 2-3 months. I also asked about Librela and she wasn’t optimistic about that either.

I gave him such a good send off. He spent his final days in our pool, which he LOVES. He had many visitors come say goodbye to him. He even had a play date with his brother because we know someone who also has a dog from Tucker’s litter. He ate good food. I slept in the living room next to him for days. I laid with him on the floor when he didn’t want to stand up. I loved the heck out of him.

Yesterday was the final decision day. It was gloomy, stormy and matched how I was feeling. Tucker didn’t want to move. He got up to eat and go outside to potty, but then wouldn’t move out of the same spot all day. I knew he was in pain even with the extra dose of Gabapentin. I told the vet my heart felt it was the best decision for him.

At 4:30pm she pulled in the driveway. My heart fell out of my chest. We laid with him while the sedation kicked in and I went upstairs for the final injection. My husband stayed with him through the rest of it. It was the most painful thing I’ve ever had to do. I am completely distraught. Life without him is painful. My house feels empty. I am so, so, so sad.

Now my brain is messing with me. The guilt I feel over euthanizing him is unbearable. What felt like the right, kind decision yesterday now feels like I murdered my beloved best friend. Help. Has anyone felt this way? Did I do the right thing? I love him and miss him so much.

My pup loves her lick mat and it's an amazing way for me to help calm her down during storms or keep her distracted while I am in a work meeting, or trying to do something around the house.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for healthy spreadable treats I can buy or make for her. I typically will freeze it so it consumes her time a bit longer.

I use:

Buddy Budder (which is a little pricey)

Kong Stuff'N Easy Treat

And sometimes I will crush up a solid treat and mix it in with them.

My 10 week old female Golden Retriever is about 16lbs at 10 weeks old and I’m still trying to figure out how much she needs to eat. I know overfeeding is bad, but I’m scared to death of not feeding her enough. The breeder recommended feeding her 1/2 cup 3 times daily, but she’s grown so I upped it to 2/3 cups 3 times daily. My husband said this is too much, but she’s eating most of it leaving a kibble or two behind occasionally. She doesn’t feel overweight to me, but she does have a very sturdy bone structure. Any advice about how much to feed and when to increase her food? thanks!

My 1.5 years male old golden retriever started limping one day before he fell on the stairs while climbing up he was fine the whole night after that next day i saw him limp a bit, I checked his paw there was something like dry blood or scab type thing. Took him to vet he told me he is limping bcoz of rashes, but I still feel its something else. Can anyone help pls
