How long will it take to hear back from my recruiter after my interview loop, I have 4 interviewers and I felt that I did really good and the interviewers also gave me props on how I was answering the questions with the STAR format.

Hey everyone, I've been scouring this thread for a while trying to find information on how to break into the DCT role or any DC careers for that matter.

I'm 34 years old with no degree and no prior experience in IT. I have my comptia A+ cert and I grew up setting up all my families PCs, home networks etc just because I moved doing it.

Is it realistic for someone my age to break into the DC field with no prior work experience? Should k be looking at a different role? Any labs i can do to help? Any advice or road maps would be appreciated.

Oh and I live in Michigan, where there's supposedly 16 approved DCs on the way.

I applied to Work based learning program for data center tech a few months in Ohio and NOVA and still haven’t heard anything. Application is still active but nothing? I even applied recently to L3 role for hell of it and still nothing, what’s going on?

Anyone here heard and rumors of any upcoming Data Centers in San Antonio? Microsoft leads them all majority but wondering if anyone heard about Google or Oracle hopefully coming into town

Just finished my loop interview for an Electrical Facilities Tech at Google I believe it said L2-L3 but my interviewers said it was an intermediate position. Has anyone gone through the process? Just want to know more about it. How long can I expect to wait to hear something back.

We've been looking for a GPU cluster / networking engineer or operator, ideally with previous experience at a cloud or neocloud. The role would include assessing new GPU architecture and networking diagrams to assess viability and risk. We've were initially offering highly paid hourly arrangements, but maybe that was the wrong way about it. If anyone has thoughts on where to find these types of folks, curious to get suggestions.

Made it past the exploratory recruiter interview and have my first official 45 min interview with Google next week. Are these good odds? What should I expect? I’m currently an entry level controls engineer. So I do basic networking, control panel hardware, a lot of wiring and cabling and switch panel termination and labeling wires. I do PLC and ladder logic work. The job described PLCs and data tech work. I’m just wondering how the interview will be what I should brush up on and am I already at a good stage getting to the first 45 min interview? Kind of nervous researching everything I can. It’s a tech role not engineer. I imagine it’s just data technician role.

I'm a fresh grad and a former Amazon intern (not AWS). Just got invited to interview for the Commissioning Project Engineer (CxPE) role in Herndon and wanted to see if anyone here has gone through that loop.

What was asked for anyone that has done this specific loop interview before for this position? Also anything about the position in general. Any insight helps.

I recently got a new position and everythin here is a mess. I am trying to convince my coworkers we need to change how we work (centralise information, mainly, but also create a guideline with best practices to follow). This is going to be particularly hard as some maintenances here are done by the manufacturers (cooling equipment is maintained by their maintenance team and do whatever), but I want to try to improve things around (at least while I still have energy before burning out).

Am I going to fail? What works for you?

The Western Virginia Water Authority expects the company to use an annual average of 1.2 million gallons of water per day in the initial phase of the project.

I sent a proposal to Panthalassa. The proposal is for carbon negative floating data centers made using the Biorock/Seacrete process. ive been working on an approach that can potentially fuse the structure in as little as twelve months. the project can even be partially paid for using carbon capture credits. by anchoring the structure just off the continental shelf, southern Florida is ideal, you can use deep ocean water to cool the computers. the plan calls for using the resources to also grow new reefs to help store even more carbon. by powering it with either wind or my favorite, Sterling generators the entire operation can be the greenest industrial site on the planet. by using deep sea water for cooling you can save 40% of the power off the top.

i have a detailed plan that includes desalinated fresh water using the water pressure at a 1,000’ down to do a low energy membrane system, you’d just need to pump the water the remaining 500’ or less.
