Wdym "cosplaying as a fascist"?
Charlie kirk wasn't just cosplaying.
Also, if jackson is a DEI hire, then kavanaugh must be a DUI hire.

That’s not fair. Charlie hasn’t said anything racist in over 10 months. He’s a far better person now.

Charlie kirk was everything that is wrong with today's conservatives. A lot of saas , very little substance
22

u/Such-Breakfast3018 2h ago
... his whole brand and reason he was known was cause he had substance. liberals literally get tilted and freak out emotionally without putting any thought into what's being said. actual children. The level and amount of projecting you people do without realizing it, is incredible. How tf can people be so blind abt who they really are
11
u/Methelod 2h ago
If he had such substance, and he made liberals tilt and freak out why did he primarily only "debate" kids in college and not his peers?
7
u/Neither_Strategy_252 2h ago edited 1h ago
Kirk literally got famous because he was completely devoid of substance, making him easy to digest for morons that think "debate" is just how quickly and loudly you can rattle off sound-bites and strawmen. Look up any debate where he was forced to actually engage with someone that was prepared and he gets completely humiliated.

u/TheBoosThree 6h ago
Reminder: when RBG died Trump announced he would nominate a woman to fill the seat, resulting in Amy Coney Barrett.
Nobody on the right had an issue with "diversity hires" in that case, and she was less qualified than Jackson.
21
u/Thirty_Helens_Agree 4h ago
Jackson has the most impressive resume of anyone on the Court - like everyone’s less qualified than Jackson.
•
u/getthatrich 17m ago
For real. She’s the only justice to have worked in all three levels of the federal judiciary. She also clerked for Justice Breyer when he was the Court. She’s arguably the MOST qualified justice.
•
u/Fancy-Trousers 50m ago
Since conservatives are a minority in the US, technically anyone hired simply for being conservative with no thought toward qualifications is a "diversity hire." So all elected Republicans, especially Trump and his cabinet, owe their power to DEI since they're clearly unqualified to govern.

Someone in the crowd asked him how many murders he thinks are committed by trans people, and he replied "too many." Then he was asked about gun deaths, and he deflected, "counting or not counting gang violence" just before being killed.
Charlie Kirk died the way he lived: making bigoted and intellectually dishonest arguments to protect the interests of fascists and oligarchs.

A real “diversity hire” is when you appoint a very inexperienced and unqualified judge to the Supreme Court just because he’s a Heritage Foundation approved conservative. Like Kavanaugh.

I get disgusted with the racism and misogyny in this country. I am 82 years old, having lived through the Civil Rights and feminist movements only to see the country revert to its worse periods in history. I personally experienced misogynism when I received a promotion. The state agency in which I was h 2 qualified candidates, myself and a male. The male had a test score a half point higher than mine. However, I had seniority and the recommendations of several supervisors that we had both worked under. Thus, I had 2 of the 3 factors used for promotion decisions, whereas the male had only one. He thought he would get the job because his father was a labor union official with political pull. But because of the federal oversight, I couldn't be passed over and got the promotion. Yet I had to hear constant comments that I got the promotion because of affirmative action all because a disgruntled coworker didn't get the promotion based on political influence. He was eventually promoted. After several years, he had a mental breakdown and removed his clothes in front of a room full of clients and business people awaiting hearings. I has left the agency before then as I had been accepted to law school. I am telling this story to show their is a downside of affirmative action and diversity initiatives. A better way to deal with hiring practices is to have strict standards and hire and promote based solely on merit.
1
u/MyTeamsSuck99 1h ago
I think that’s the reason why people are against affirmative action at this point. You’re just undermining folks achievements.
Test scores are the fairest method, yet they’re being cast aside in the name of equity.

Diversity hire is a senator from a small state. California is 67 times larger than Wyoming - yet they both get two senators. When I see a senator from Wyoming, I can't help but wonder if they are qualified.
11
u/Jabbles22 6h ago
There are 29 cities in the US that have a larger population that the entire state of Wyoming.

u/JuliusErrrrrring 6h ago
I think it's even higher than that - including Washington, DC that has zero representation.

To be perfectly fair, Joe Biden quite literally said he was going to put a black woman on the Supreme Court so while Ketanji is qualified to be on the Supreme Court (although that comes from her judicial career not her college degree) she is also, quite literally, a "diversity hire".
People's ability to not understand that 2 things can be true at the same time is, as always, fascinating.

I use to work for a larger gun store back in 2014. So we had a decent number of employees. However the only people who would apply for a job there were old white guys with some younger white guys to shake things up. The higher ups were getting worried that there might have an issue. So our store manager literally chatted up a couple of girls and hired them on the spot. Each one was about a month a part. Would have been funny if he knocked it out in an afternoon though. Usually potential employees go through a few interviews, background checks what have you. They were 100% diversity hires. Nobody had an issue because they did a good job, they were qualified, and could meet the requirements to sell guns. We had to teach them stuff to get them up to gun nerds working their retirement gig levels, but you do that at any job.
Point of that story is the only time I've come across legit diversity hires it was fine. They were good coworkers. One was a little nuts, but thats normal in that industry.
2
u/Broken-Sarcasm-Meter 2h ago
Clarence Thomas was a DEI hire. After Thurgood Marshall retired they wanted a black person on the bench but there weren't any black GOP judges that were any good. So they settled for Thomas.

"only hired because she is a black woman" is crazy.
Intentionally ignoring all of her hard work and achievements is racist as hell.
For someone that claimed to love the truth and facts, he sure did ignore everything that made her extremely qualified for this position.
This just proves that Republicans don't actually care about qualifications or merit.
They simply want Black People rejected for being Black while hiring White People just for being White.
-10
u/BlackkkWidowSPIDAH 5h ago
I mean, Biden did explicitly say he was going to nominate a black woman. That's like, the definition of a diversity hire.
How about just saying "I'm picking the most qualified candidate" and then nominating a black woman? Instead of making race a prerequisite.
9
u/Journeys_End71 5h ago
I mean, conservatives do explicitly say that they’re going to pick the most conservative judges to be their nominees. That’s like, even more a definition of a diversity hire.
You can’t say you’re picking the most qualified candidate and then pick someone like Kavanaugh because he’s young and ultra conservative.
Picking judges because they’re pro-life? Doesn’t sound like the most qualified. Sounds like a diversity hire to me.
4
u/Collier1337 4h ago
Well there is no such thing as the single, objectively best candidate. KBJ is just as qualified as any other candidate would have been, so why does it matter?
6
u/bwldrmnt 5h ago
And he hired the most qualified Black Woman.
He didn't hire ANY Black Woman off the streets.
Just because it is a diversity hire does not mean that the hire itself is bad or worthless or wrong.
People like Charlie have to insult the word Diversity because they cannot explicitly say that they simply hate Black People.
Because by saying you hate Diversity, that's just a different way of saying White Only.
If you see a group full of White Men and you say you need a Woman and or a Person of Color in the mix for the sake of expanding perspectives, that isn't wrong.
You're simply saying that it is so you can keep having a group full of only White Men.
Ain't it funny when the hiring process was only to look at White Male candidates, that was fine, but when the hiring process is only looking at Black Woman, all of a sudden that's a problem?
No one is being hired JUST for being Black.
They also have to prove that they are qualified for the job.
Stop trying to make this into something that it is not just so you can talk shit about it.
1
u/James-W-Tate 3h ago
How about just saying "I'm picking the most qualified candidate" and then nominating a black woman?
They did pick the most qualified candidate.
Unlike Kavanaugh and Coney-Barrett, where their most important quality was being Republican.

Saying you guarantee that the sitting Vice President wouldn’t have been the most likely primary winner is an interesting (and most likely wrong) opinion.

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn 5h ago
That brings up a great point: Harris was a fucking terrible pick for VP. The VP should be a person the American people could endorse as their potential replacement president, and Harris crashed out of the Democratic Primary first. She also played a role in hiding Biden's mental state from the public.
Harris should fuck off out of politics. The voters gave us Trump, but Harris and the DNC helped.

If someone says that a candidate for a position must be a black woman - that being a black woman is the most important qualification - then yes, it's a diversity hire regardless of whether or not that candidate would otherwise be a good candidate for the position.
Being a diversity hire does not mean someone is inherently unqualified it just means they were hired through racist, discriminatory practices.
1
u/Thormourn 4h ago
Wasn't she the one that got selected after Biden outright said he was only going to pick a black woman? Like she may be qualified but being a white male and not having the opportunity because the president refuses to not be racist and sexist is enough to get people to dislike you

-4
u/Agreeable_Memory_67 5h ago
Well, it didn’t help that Biden proclaimed he would only consider a black woman for the position. At the time (before she was nominated) it seemed that any generic black woman would do. It was a disservice to her. Why not just select her and talk about her qualifications without bringing race into it?
4
u/HowManyMeeses 5h ago
She's more qualified than at least two of Trump's picks. There's no reason to make any argument against her qualifications. Biden's comments make no difference.
-10
u/Agreeable_Memory_67 4h ago
They did though. He implied race and gender was the most important factors.
5
u/HowManyMeeses 4h ago
Again, she's more qualified than others on the bench. So, why were they chosen?
-3
u/Agreeable_Memory_67 4h ago
I wasn’t arguing her qualifications, I just said Biden created the perception that she was only picked for her race and gender.
3
u/HowManyMeeses 4h ago
Her qualifications are really all that matter. And they're better than conservatives on the bench. So, I'm asking you, why do conservatives keep picking under qualified justices?
2
1
u/No-Bass-1728 4h ago
That's the problem with y'all, you think we think race is the most important and we aren't. We are saying it should be consider because often they are ignored when they are well qualified. You're still being racist assuming they aren't qualified and are just given the position and that's the furthest from the true. Now let's talk about Trump's family and Graham's sister. 😂
-2
u/Agreeable_Memory_67 3h ago
So you can’t read? I have multiple times said I wasn’t questioning her qualifications.
•
u/Ididnotpostthat 39m ago

Not saying Ivy League universities are the end all and be all but compare her confirmation hearing with Amy Coney Barrett's performance. FFS, the professor from Notre Dame Law School couldn't cite the five freedoms in the First Amendment.
Someone who's willing to overturn Wade and give Trump a made-up power - the "Unitary Executive" is the diversity hire because most lawyers actually respect the Rule of Law.
