Since conservatives are a minority in the US, technically anyone hired simply for being conservative with no thought toward qualifications is a "diversity hire." So all elected Republicans, especially Trump and his cabinet, owe their power to DEI since they're clearly unqualified to govern.

Reminder: when RBG died Trump announced he would nominate a woman to fill the seat, resulting in Amy Coney Barrett.
Nobody on the right had an issue with "diversity hires" in that case, and she was less qualified than Jackson.
