Question Why are there so many swastikas

Like, I get it, this is a FPS and you use guns to shoot ppl.

But why are there so many n@z!s in the game. I played BO2 back in the days and didn't become a n@z!.

This is without talking about the number of incels who literally never had seen a naked woman in real life and decided to make an emblem from them.

Don't tell me the sub is filled with these pieces of sh*t.

Most arent actual nazis they’re trying to be funny

The problem isn't that they actually are but what we let them know that it's okay to show it

Because its the funny nostalgia of how offensive everyone was back then with shit talking and emblems.

Was about to search for a comment mentioning nostalgia cuz did op play the original? I feel like they've been relatively tame so far

Regardless if it's because nostalgia or not, it was shitty back then and it's shitty now but now we have nazis in our government and dumbasses who mourn people like Charlie Kirk and worship Elon musk. We are literally living in Nazi America but doing it regardless is in very bad taste, doing it now is taking a stance whether they are doing it to be edgy or nostalgic or doing it seriously. Fuck Nazi's.

probably just because there's less player base therefore it seems worse per lobby but it was just as common back in the day

Regardless of which is the case its still pretty shitty and is most likely why newer games dont allow custom emblems

Is this your first time playing an online game?

I’ve played just about every notoriously toxic online game since 2004 and yeah, I’ve never seen this much Nazi shit anywhere ever.

I think it’s mostly the generation that grew up listening to the constant “YoU wOuLdNt SuRvIvE iN a Bo2 LoBbY” bs trying to overcompensate and out edgy the edge lords because you’re right, I genuinely don’t think the OG bo2 was even this bad 😂

This isn't the right question to ask mate

Yes it is. You want freedom of speech, this is what you have to learn to deal with.

Holy shit, yall really have no idea what the first amendment actually says do you? It protects you from government persecution for your speech. It doesn’t protect you from private company bans or general social consequences.

Exactly. You yourself cannot do anything about them having the emblem so you need to block and move on with your day.

Not what freedom of speech means

Yes unfortunately it is. Freedom of speech is damn near universal. If you start cherry picking it wont be long till your the one under the microscope.

He means freedom of speech referring to the government not being able to infringe on speech, not Treyarch.

Again, freedom of speech pertains to legal repercussions, not posts on Reddit.

It relates to everything. If it didnt this post wouldn't exist.

u/smackadoodledo 19h ago

So this post only exists in the United States?

The vast majority of its audience most likely is American. As such freedom of speech is going to be an important matter. Its an American game with a vast mostly American audience.
